Knitting in the round for colour work was stumping me when I read a chart as I had done so much flat work. I can now look at the chart as a flat or in the round after your clear description. I’m about to start a cowl in the round. Thank you!
I’m new to cables. Thank for explaining that in the round the stitches on the row need to be repeated until you get back to your starting stitch marker. None of the other videos pointed that out!
This helped me so much! I'm new to the knitting world and working on the baa-ble hat and I'm getting nervous because I'm doing the chart soon. I couldn't understand how it goes all the way around, but you were very thorough in explaining and now I know! Thanks so much! :)
how do you know what patterns will work for your hats. do you simply count the stitches and compare them with the number of cast on stitches in your hat?
mercy me...my thanks can not express how i feel ..I think I finally got it somehow you cracked the confusion code in my head and I am now ready to tackle a hat with colorwork in the round..now I need to learn what to do with idle yarn laying in back is there some trick to that? or do I just let it be and carry it along and pick up as needed?
Thanks for the great video. QUESTION I have a fair isle chart that has some stiches blacked out and the key code says "No stitch" so should I just slip those stitches? If anyone knows I would like to try this mitten pattern from a book I have.
I have a fair Isle chart, to be knit in the round. But the first row is shown on the right hand top the numbers read from top to bottom on the right side. And then at the top and bottom of the chart the numbers read from right to left. Can you explain how do I read this chart.
How do you knit pattern repeats on a stranded colorwork chart that does not show a red box? I am working on a pattern that has a 6 stitch repeat with seven rounds but there is no redbox that shows the repeat .I don't understand what that means. Any help would be appreciated
Hi! I’m very very new with this technique, but I’m confused, so I start with round 1 , is ⚪️⚫️⚫️ and it finished with ⚫️ so should I start knitting from the ⚪️ square or from the ⚫️ square?? Thank you. I’m knitting a socks
This is great, but can you do a video for reading charts with knit and purl stitches in the round? And adjusting patterns with cabling, for example? Thanks.
Ahlem Hireche Check on your internet browser. There is an explanation there. You do not work that particular stitch on a “no stitch” row, because it no longer exists.
Question, what if I end the round to my marker and the round I was knitting is not finished all the way? Can I still start the next row/round or do I finish the whole row first
Karen Condon No, you would not. I would assume you didn’t have the correct number of stitches for the pattern. Each row would be completed. Then the next row would start.
Hi, I need to make a complex cable sweater but don't know how. Unfortunately, I can't attach the photo to my comment. Can I email you the photo and you explain in a video how to make it? Please let me know if you are interested. Thanks 💐
Veola Sutherland I would think you would knit the pattern the way you knit - in reverse. If you start knitting from left to right, you would read the pattern from left to right. Many color work patterns are symmetrical, so it wouldn’t matter much. Otherwise, for non-symmetrical patterns, I would make a transparency of the pattern and flip it to read it correctly for you. Your work will be reversed, but unless there are words, that wouldn’t matter.

What if you knit left to right

What are you to do when a chart for circular knitting, saids no stitch for four stitches
Vickie Willis
Don’t work them. They don’t exist. Go to the next stitch.
bonjour pouvez vous m"envoyer la grille svp merçi
What if you are left handed?

What about being left-handed, would I do from left to right instead of the traditional right to left??
LOVE IT, thank you!!
