    The Clarendon is my favorite Bible to read. I use the Wide margin an personal size daily. Great review

    Randy when doing side by side page comparisons it would be beneficial to open to the same exact book and verse in both so we can compare apples to apples.

    The Cameo has the best red ink I've ever seen in a bible. My Turquoise is nice but now that I've been using it for many months I have noticed that the red isn't as consistent as I first thought. Regardless Cambridge inconsistent red is still darker than all others LOL😂
    The Clerandon has grown on me over time and I call it my Turquoise mini, it actually has the same style of spacing between the words which I really like.
    I agree with ya brother , both bibles are excellent in their own way the only thing I like more has nothing to do with the text. The Allan goatskin semi yapp is amazing , out of all the covers I've had it is my number one fave. If you ever get a chance to get one I highly recommend it in the blue, also they added notebook paper to the newest version that's a plus.
    I'm binge watching your vids , trying to catch up LOL.

      Thanks! I'm a big fan of blue!! Thanks for watching. Let me know if there's anything you want to see.

      I've been watching your too, btw. I especially like your 120 review. That Bible is amazing.

      @@BibleBuyingGuide Yes the 120 is really nice I actually reviewed so many bibles at the time that I didn't truly realize just how much I liked it. Sounds like that blue limited edition 120 would be a perfect bible for ya, Brian just got one for review which he said didn't make much sense cause they're out. I hope they make more cause the blue looks really cool.
      If I think of anything I wanna see I'll let ya know brother. Thanks for always keeping up with your comment section, its not as easy as some might think.

      @@Airik1111bibles If you compare Cambridge Cameo and CBP 120, which one do you think its red letter is better printed?

    • @Airik1111bibles
      @Airik1111bibles 3 роки тому +1

      @@ymshao Looking back I'd say I prefer the CBP...BUT Cambridge prints are so much more crisp.
      That said it comes down to the paper quality, no comparison... If you are wanting crazy good paper then ya gotta pay the price but honestly I don't really care anymore.
      I think the CBP Buffalo skin full yapp cover is amazing for the money. My wife has the Thompson full yapp its beautiful.
      You add in the good red letter on their Turquoise or Cameo wide margin and ya have the coolest daily drivers on the market.
      Way more character imho ..like an old classic hot rod with awesome candy apple paint job . 😁

    I enjoyed the Clarendon quote a bit in Vachetta Calfskin; the size, feel , study helps and font are literally perfect. My issue was the Book Titles placed in the middle of the page as opposed at the opening corner. Made finding specific passages difficult. Appreciate the comparison.

    Sadly the Cameo is only available as a red letter Randy, unlike the Concord. A shame as the option for both would be nice. I love the Cameo in general though.

      I have a black text in CALF SPLIT which Amanda from Cambridge was able to get me in England somewhere. Personally, I love the Concord series, especially the reference #'s being in the center column so the reading isn't affected.

    I am glad CAMBRIDGE still makes in Netherlands for most part. A couple in Belarus. And I think DIADEM hardback will be there. I have not noticed any quality loss in PREMIER bibles made in China however.
    I never met a CAMBRIDGE bible that I didn't buy.

  • @gleasonparker1684
    @gleasonparker1684 3 роки тому +3

    Is this like CONCORD but it is still smaller and readable. I like how Cambridge keeps parts from past such as forms from 1920s and 1950s.

    Super helpful Randy. Clarendon is a very nice layout. As far as Oxford layouts go it is my favorite based on videos. Do not own one yet. If Allan would fix the paper and have opacity like the Cameo I would get one. I happened to get one of the Allen Ruby's before they quit making them. The Ruby lots of study features like the Clarendon. The Ruby has a glossary of proper names, subject index, and a sizable concordance. The Ruby has 14 blank pages before the maps and about 30 or more thick lined pages for notes after the maps. Also the robust cross referencing on the Ruby is significantly better than the Cameo. Ruby is kind of hard to read due to the font size and old plates. But still a pleasure to read none the less with minimal bleed through with my copy.

    Nelson PREMIER now does RED in all parts of BIBLE.
    Including verse #s. Something QUENTEL does NOT.
    And Schuyler is not dark and bold like Cambridge.

    Regarding paper texture...which one has a slightly grainier feel? I'm looking for grainy-like...or at least SOME kind of texture...but definitely NOT super smooth! lol Your answer will help me choose between the two. Thanks, Randy. 😊

    • @BibleBuyingGuide
      @BibleBuyingGuide  2 роки тому +1

      Hi Sylvia. Mine are smooth with no grainer texture. I haven't seen the latest version of the Brevier Clarendon (mine is 10 years old), but I have seen the new Cameo is it's smooth. I can't think of any reference editions this size with grainy paper, but I'll post it here if I do.

    I think smart bible makers will produce big print in smaller size and under a hundred dollars and in good quality leather. Older bible buyers get picky in older age.

    Does R.L. Allan use the Pure Cambridge text?

    • @BibleBuyingGuide
      @BibleBuyingGuide  4 роки тому +1

      No. It's closer to the 1769, but not exactly. Matthew 4:1 has a lower case s for Sprit. Everything else matches the Blayney text from Oxford.

    • @BibleBuyingGuide

      It is the same as the 7c. The PSC has a larger and cleaner font, but it's not as dark.

    Something to consider. In 16 minutes of showing off 2 bibles, not once did you sit one ontop the other and give the viewer a solid look from the spine. Maybe try to let the bible's speak for themselves.
