I just purchased the Cambridge Concord Black Letter Goatskin from Evangelical Bible. Cambridge upgraded their ribbons. They're now using Black Berisfords Ribbons in the Concord. They're the exact same Berisfords ribbons that's in my Allen Brevier Clarendon Black Goatskin Bible, except they're black.
I have the cameo and the clarion and I really prefer the way the cameo looks. It has a more cozy feel when reading the text whereas the clarion has a very empty and vast feeling when reading it. Every time I open the clarion and start reading it I feel coldness and every time I open the cameo typesetting and begin my reading I feel warm and at ease. Just my experience with the two. I would assume the concord would have the same effect as the cameo.
I understand exactly what you feel but for me its beteeen the Longprimer and Schyuler Canterbury. There's too much empty space in the SC for my liking. Don't get wrong, the LP could use a little more too but it just feels" welcoming.
The Concord is such an awesome Bible! I reviewed one that actually belongs to Gypsy Lane and I was very impressed with that Bible. Thank you for the comparison. Your videos are great 👍🏻

Zwould be helpful to pause whilst showing the font without waving the pages around. Just a touch awkward to not getting seasick. The camera often seems to be too far away to see, and not long on a page before it's turned. Thanks
No bible has a "full" concordance. Strongs is a full concordance. The concordance on the Cambridge bibles though is pretty good. I have the Cameo in water Buffalo calfskin, the Concord in goatskin and the new/old Turqoise in goatskin. Love them all.
CONCORD may be the ONLY Bible that does the center column reference right by getting it for the right column and making it easy to read all others should go to the end of the page references I think just like Schuyler does with the various versions s that they sell THEY use the upper portion to increase the font and it's much more readable that way.
Concorde Reference is feature rich in the rear but the Clarion's squat stoutness is more attractive. ***Watch these videos 1.5 speed. Still very comprehensible and truly quick.
Pretty clear that Cambridge needs to either update these or do a new premium KJV. The Clarion paper is terrible, the Cameo is outdated font, and the Concord (could have been great) has the fatal flaw of incredibly tight inner margins pulling the text into the gutter. None approach the premium level like their Diadem (my favorite, but only in ESV and NASB).
Cambridge could have hit a homerun if they had made the TOPAZ in about a 11 or 12 POINT FONT instead they wasted a lot of space and put the reference up high where you going to got about half a page of nothing but Blank Space also they did not include the full notes for the King James version or the new King James version is what I'm trying to say.
Hi sadly no as the Cameo is an old KJV text printed originally via letterpress plates so no. I would like to see a compact ESV in this style tho, like a mini Topaz! God bless
Does the cameo and concord have the same 8pt font size? Seems like since the concord reference is larger, it would have a larger font. How about the darkness and boldness of the print, are they both the same? Thank You
I have a very old cameo water Buffalo calf skin and a LCBP hand size in calf skin. The cameo is maybe 1/2 inch shorter and 1/4 inch or so smaller in width. The font and print is identical. Paper not quite as thin and nice in the LCBP. Still very nice but I prefer the cameo
I don’t normally like to do that but... the calfsplit will do it but the cover needs to be broken in a bit. I imagine the goatskin will do it no problem. By in half I don’t mean from the hinge, but one half folded behind the hinge and the other half. 😄👍👌
Hi Gleason, I have since found out that the first of the two numbers is the font size, the second is the leading or line spacing. Therefore the Concord is an 8pt font with a 9pt leading (line spacing) which helps that font to appear clearer thanks
Is it true that the Clarion contains typos? Could someone please verify the following verses for me? An Amazon reviewer said he found these typos: "Acts 9:11 reads '...a of Tarsus'. It should be 'a man of Tarsus. Ephesians 1:6 reads "in the beloved." It should be "in the beloved" (no period). 2 Chronicles 28:20 reads 'Tilgath-pilneser'. It should be 'Tilgath-pileser'."
Yes brother all these are in my Clarion. There’s also an “a” in Acts 9:4 where Jesus says “why persecutest me”: the Clarion reads “a why...”. I actually had scribbled both of these out not realising that 9:11 should say “a man of Tarsus”. Thanks for pointing that out. The “Pilneser” one is there but I checked two other KJVs and it’s in them as well. So I’m not sure whether it’s a typo or not. If you’re thinking of getting a Clarion I can highly recommend it. The single column really makes a difference in being able to understand the overall context. I am planning to switch, Lord willing, to the upcoming Schuyler Treveris when it comes out though. It fixes the things I don’t like about the Clarion. I can say though that the Clarion has been the best bible I have used and it would probably be the one I would use for the rest of my life if the Treveris wasn’t coming out.

It’s my pleasure Alex! Yeah I agree with you on the size. It is something you get used to though. There’s no doubt they are expensive but I don’t feel they are overpriced. I’m happy to pay more for something that will last a lot longer and that I’ll be satisfied with. I’ve had mine for about 3 years and have used it heavily and it still looks like new. That said, I don’t take it anywhere, I use another bible for church and travelling. We are extremely blessed to have the options of different bibles nowadays. There are brethren in the world who don’t even have the Word in their own language. This thought brings me back down to earth. We ought to pray for such. Anyway brother it’s nice to meet you. May the Lord bless you in whatever He’s leading you to do in your life.

Clarion does NOT HAVE the dark and bold print like the other King James version Bibles have. Which is a bit of a shame because the KJV bibles are very good.
Sorry no Tammy, Cambridge have a separate range of NRSV Bibles though, such as the Popular and Compact text editions and also the Reference Edition. God bless
Hello! They are two very different Bibles, the Concord is an old school Reference Bible from the 1950’s and the Windsor is a modern digital typeface of the KJV but also is Text only, no references. Both have similar footprint, but for a simple everyday reader you can’t beat the stunning value Windsor IMO. Thanks for watching!

Probably has to do with the retro design fonts on the cameo and concord vs the modern fonts on the clarion
I have never been to able to articulate why I gravitate towards my Cameo and Concord vs my Clarion. You nailed it! It feels cold and uninviting.

The Concord to me is still state of the art, no reference marks in the text. Best way to implement references in my mind.

Isn't the font size in the wide margin CONCORD a bit smaller than in the regular size CONCORD?

Concord is a point larger. Cameo is bolder in my opinion and doesn’t suffer from occasional print boldness variations.

I just got a Calf-Split Wide Margin Concord from Cambridge and it says "Holy Bible" on the front.
Cambridge typically puts hokey Bible on their calfskin editions while leaving it off their goatskin editions
