The Turquoise in blue is so cool looking, I love my Turquoise in brown but the blue just pops. When its opened with the red letter it looks beautiful and patriotic😍
I have two of the Cameo's in Waterbuffalo calfskin, and 2 Concordain goatskin. These were printed in the UK. I have 2 of the Turquoise in blue printed in the Netherlands. They are all really nice but my eyes prefer the larger print of the Turquoise now...
I have the R L Allan Longprimer 52. How would you compare the Turquoise with it? Also, I am not a fan of Red Ltr editions. Is the red font in the Turquoise bold?
I’m going to have to hold out with hope for a Diadem KJV. The concord would be the best available format if not for the unbelievably narrow inner margins.
What is your opinion between the Cambridge turquoise and the Cambridge large print kjv. Is one more readable than the other. I get that it’s the font and the line spacing that makes a difference
I find the Large Print slightly more readable because it doesn't include cross-reference and footnote keys in the text. Other than that, the text is the same. The Turquoise paper looks better, though.
what do you recommend for not having the self-pronouncing text? I have both of these and like them but I don't find the 'help' very helpful for me and it bothers me sometimes when I just want to read

High Randy, I amm itching to buy a Cambridge Turquoise KJV bible, but I already have a CBP mid-size water Buffalo platinum readers edition KJV bible with the turquoise text. Based on many video that I watched on the Cambrige, I am hearing that the Cambridge is superior. Is there a big difference between these two bible interms of clarity and text legibility?
Do you know if these two Bibles or any other Bibles have what is known as the Pure Cambridge edition which was a revision done to the KJV in the 1900s?
Hello Sir. Now that there are Cambridge full yapp editions of the Concord, and it looks like they are leather lined, will you be doing a review or comparison? Thank you.
@@BibleBuyingGuide Thank you. I forgot to mention I also believe there is a full yapp edition of the Cambridge Turquoise as well. It is interesting to me what kinds of bibles are being made nowadays. Have a good day!
Ok so I've watched.. I was sure i wanted a turquoise with such pretty old type.. But now I'm beginning to think i might like that concord better .. Which do you recommend for me as just wanting a nice little reader?
I saw a review of the KJV Turquoise that pointed out a typo in Luke 11:53 (provoke is misspelled). I am wondering if Cambridge corrected that error. Would you mind looking at your copy and letting me know? Thanks!
@@BibleBuyingGuide, thanks for you response. I learned from Evangelical Bible that the misspelling cannot be corrected because the Turquoise is a reprint of there 1920's hot metal press typesetting. With the said, that one misspell is not, at least it should not be, a dealbreaker...
Thanks for the great review comparison. Last week I received my KJV Concord Marbled Mahogany full yapp. It’s lovely! I have been considering a Turquoise for some time. You’ve helped with the decision making process. The font size is a plus! Excited about the goatskin! Love my Cambridge goatskin ESV Heirloom. Floppy leathers are the best! I do prefer red letter, double column, center reference, so this will be perfect! Blessings to you brother❣️
Thank you for the review. Maybe it’s too late to comment now, but I really want to know what choice you’ll make between Cambridge Concord and TBS Westminster😉
That's a tough choice for me. I keep going back and forth between them. I prefer the darkness of the Concord font, but the sharpness of the Westminster font. For references, the Westminster wins, but I like that the Concord doesn't have the reference keys in the text. I prefer the overall size of the Concord. Its dictionary is handy. If references is the goal, I'd go with the Westminster. If preaching was the goal, I'd go with the Concord. If it was the only resource I had access to, I'd have to choose between references and the dictionary. I'm still not sure.
@@BibleBuyingGuide Thank you for your reply. Both of them are excellent bibles that could be purchased today, so it’s too tough to choose. Matching Westminster with Personal Concord might be a better choice, one for reading and one for carrying 🤪
@@timcohen1482 great idea. I love the Compact Westminster, but I find the personal size Concord easier to read because of the slightly larger and darker font.
I think since I like bigger print would vote for TURQUOISE. But would not be w/o CONCORD. Glad CAMBRIDGE offers calf split. I like it better than floppy goatskin.
Great video thank you. Just wondering, what bible to you use the most? Do you have a primary bible? Also, I want to purchase your bible marking and highlighting guide, what is the web address to get it? Thanks
HI Ryan. I'm currently using the New Cambridge Paragraph Bible the most, but since I review them I change around a lot. For my personal use, I lean toward paragraph style for readability. Thanks for your interest in my book. It's on Amazon: amzn.to/2UYiUYB
Love them both. TURQUOISE is very readable at 11 pt Font. CONCORD is very readable..at about 9/10 font but very dark AND bold print. Also like Cambridge large print.
They do look the same, but they have different names. I'm not sure if that's just to reference the size. The Cameo use Petit Medieval Clarendon and the Turquoise uses Antique Old Style No 3.
As always your reviews help us know what we need to know about these Bibles. Much appreciated! I personally do find the font of the Concord difficult to read compared to the Turquoise and even the CBP Text only 180. To me a perfected Bible would the the Turquoise with the exact same font and layout except for having bold cross references like the Concord. I have not used my goatskin Concord very much and it has no writing or markings. I have thought about either selling it or giving it to someone who is wanting one but can't afford one.
Beware! Make sure that Luke 17:34 says ...two in one bed, NOT two "men" in one bed. And the original verse also should say, two women grinding flour/ grain at the mill. The corrupted KJVB now reads.. two women "grinding," which is a lesbian sex act. My KJVB has the corrupted verses in it. I can't seem to find an uncorrupted KJVB anywhere. Help!
To anyone curious, this is the modern slang usage for "grind". The KJV used it in its original, and still valid, usage of grinding flour or meal at a mill. Here's the Hebrew word and definition: 229 avlh,qw aletho {al-ay'-tho} Meaning: 1) to grind Origin: from the same as 224;; v Usage: AV - grinding 2; 2 Misc: It was the custom to send women and female slaves to the mill houses to turn the hand mills.
Amen. I have the Cambridge turquoise and large print. I used the concord for many years but as I get older I need bigger font. Plus the darkness of Cambridge print. Is easier to read.
Round and round and round we go. Ugh! Lol! This Bible looks beautiful but it’s just so big and kind of odd dimensions . But concord and cameo are a bit small font wise. Where’s the middle sized one??? Lol
‘Bone handle thing’?🤣🤣🤣 There are bookbinders all over America wincing when they hear that. Good idea though. Thanks for the great review! I use a Cameo, a Personal Concord and a TBS Westminster when reading the KJV. Now I’ll have to consider the Turquoise as well!🤔
There is a new printing of the Concord released in 2023 with a white box. It has a full Yapp according to Cambridge. Anybody do a review of that particular one yet?
I got a TURQUOISE today in full yapp milkshake brown. AND a hand size TURQUOISE in BLUE ironed calfskin . Black letter FROM. CBP. I love the blue too. I've noticed I get blue every time it's an option.
The concord is unbeatable, best all around bible, best size, the most complete block, no stuff between the text to make reading difficult. Easy pick
Font is too small and leading to cramped compared to the turquoise . Turquoise is much easier to read
