I am of clan Gunn myself. My family still tell stories passed down from generation to generation of our ancestors and how we are descendents of the "ultimate viking" Sweyn Asleifsson it's very cool too have such rich history.
Believe it or not I worked in a coal mine with Ray Gunn he had a brother called Bren Gunn Dad must have had a sense of humour, by the way Dad was known as Pop Gunn
My family history from Scotland is kind of amusing. My father’s paternal side, the Simonton’s were originally Symington, which came out of the Dickson/Dixon, Keith, and Douglas Clan. The 3 lowland clans were so heavily intermarried, it was really like one big clan. My father’s maternal lineage comes from the Gunn clan (my great grandmother always boasted her family history). I always thought it was funny that descendants of both sides of a blood feud would eventually marry.
As a Manson, we are led to believe that our name is at the very top of royalty when it comes to Scandinavian people on Scottish soil. Gunn 4 life. Aut Pax, Aut Bellum Heil Europa
My 2 x Great grand mother was a Wilson. Have you done your family tree? I have. From Wilson-Gunn & Spottiswoode. Three fantastic families & their History. x

These "accounts" were mostly written by an author of Clan Gordon.. who were relatives to clan Gunn.. Do you really think knights/warriors back then would dishonor themselves by riding on a single horse together to an honor duel??? Really? Lol Gunns most likely got fked up pretty bad and made this up to save some face. Were lucky to have a friend that could actually write to slander their enemy, that dominated them.. "Veritas Vincit" - Truth Conquers (Clan Keith Motto btw!). 5 Gunn champions were killed by a single Keith champion in one battle. 5 of them. They could only injure him by PLAYING DEAD on the ground, then poking his leg with a knife.. "ultimate vikings" hahahah .. Imagine distorting history.. while getting stomped out by your rivals.. and eventually abandoning Scotland. The Gunns were pathetic, as well as liars.
Strange, it's almost like you elieve your version as much as the gunns believe theirs. It's almost like the only people that knew the truth, where those who saw it happen.
Clan Gunn here as well (grandma is Gunn Wilson) Peace or war!

Would the last name “Guenther” “Gunther” be a a surname from the clan Gunn?
And would the last name Guin be somewhat related or a derivative?
