I have watched a lot of packaging tutorials and this is by far the best out there for detail of what needs to be done to get a good result... AND how to do it.
Thank you so much for this video! I just finished a project for a client that involved a rather complex box design and I was able to successfully complete it from the template by following your guidance. It went very smoothly and everything you suggested worked! I can't say that for all of the videos out there, so great job!!!
i watched the whole youtube and no one was there to explain in a suitable way, and then got your tutorial and did not even notice and i watched the video for 40 minutes... without blinking an eye away from the video. Great sir... subscribed to your channel and leaving comment to encourage and appreciate you for putting your efforts to this great tutorial.... LOve you.. And your english is far tooo good and easy to pick up.....
Super useful. Thanks for the video. I’m a beginner with blender and possibly i have seen some unclear steps but it gives me a complete overview and the motivation to learn what I might be missing.
I have a more complicate caddy case dieline. Is there a way to import both dieline and artwork from Illustrator into Blender? Try to avoid rebuild the dieline in Blender. Thanks!
can u please tell me how do u know the dimensions of the box. like how can i edit the dimensions between those loop cuts that i made with respect to the box
Hi there! I love your tutorial but need some help. 5 months ago I followed along on blender 2.9 and everything turned out perfect. Now in blender 3.0 when I try to rotate the faces to form the box, it stretches the texture and changes the UV map. This was so simple previously, now I can't complete my box. Helpppppp thanks!
tengkiu bro for this tutorial. kalau boleh nak belajar depan2. hehehe. keep it up bro! kalau guna mirror modifier pun ok gak kan untuk dapatkan both sides sama :D
@@BapakStudio alah jauhnya.. saya kat selangor. haha. baru setahun berjinak2 dengan Blender. sebelum ni guna 3ds max, cuma lama tinggal dah. haha. thank you again bro untuk tutorial ni!
can u help me out. i use illustrator and when i save it as png and import it into blender and look at it in the material preview its just a purple plane. it doesnt show the dieline and the design on the pacakge plz help. thx
Hi! First of all thank you so much for the tutorial! I trouble with the inside of the image it repeats itself inside and have no clue how to just have a solid color inside with no image. Pliss helpp😅
Good tutorial. I'm gonna put it to practice, since I design quite a lot of boxes. One though though: since the box is so symmetrical, wouldn't it be possible to use mirror modifiers along the way, so you just make half the work?
Thanks for this great tutorial!! At around 23:29, after I tried to delete those vertexes, few lines just appeared and connected vertexes wrongly. They cannot be neither deleted nor merged. Don't know what will be influenced from this but it just look really annoying. First time Blender today, third time followed this tutorial and each time I had this same problem :(
@@10kVVS ok if that the case, add one material, apply the inside texture in that material. then, in the solidify modifier, offset the material for inside part
If the design is revised, do you have to create it all over again? Also, can you add additional designs to the same model? Thank you - this is cool ... I'm the 1000th subscriber :)
@bapak Studio -Forgot to ask - can you export Blender images as CMYK? I'm in print packaging and all printers require CMYK PSD files (i.e. showing a 3D image of product on a carton). From what I read so far, Blender images are for digital platforms, not print. I'll still play around with it ... thx

Thanks for the compliment, really appreciate it
this is so true, and the outcome is worthwhile. the analogy is like; using a pen tool when cutting out images using photoshop, still very effective.

Best 3D packaging video I’ve seen
Thanks ☺️
Good tutorial. I have always done mine in a similar fashion and it seems like the best and quickest way of doing it. 👍
Thanks, haha ya i think so too.. and it kinda fun tho, like we are folding a real box, digitally

Amazing tutorial, underrated honestly. It was very helpful!!!
Thanks
Thank u, very useful turorial, I have a question, how do I do when I make the folds of the box I get that rounded effect on the edge?
make the distance between the two edge bigger, then, add one or two loop cuts between it, and move it to make a curve shape

yes you can
can u please tell me how do u know the dimensions of the box. like how can i edit the dimensions between those loop cuts that i made with respect to the box
you need to make a new box and set the dimensions, then you can adjust with that
You are amazing, good sir. I am so thankful for you and this tutorial. Your video helped me mockup my cereal box design :)
