Just a note that might help you. 😊 When cutting the piece for the back, if you’d rotate the paper clockwise, one time, to your right, you should be able to put your beautiful corner on the outer edge on the back...just as you did on the front. 😃

Also, when working with paper, it’s best not to use a water based glue. If you’ll get a bottle of Fabritek or Fabrifix (same product sold under two names...I have no idea why), I think you’ll love how it doesn’t pull or warp paper. It’s acetone based. It’s expensive, so you’ll want to use your coupon...around $12.

I glue the paper to the cover then cut around it, perfect ever time.
I'm like 7 minutes into this video and I'm already so grateful to see that someone else has a hard time with measuring. I find it so tedious and I'm terrible at it. Nice to know I'm not alone in not enjoying that part. :)

Everyone has the colors they like and will tend to use them more. I Iike the greens together. I probably would have used more of the colors in the flowers. Just my personal choice.
This is a beautiful pack of paper . Paper Studio is a Hobby Lobby brand and as of now, October, 2018, it is still available. Love the video and I got some good ideas from it.
Faith when glueing I use my brayer instead of credit card. It saves worrying about tearing the paper and still does a good job.

An idea for your string wrap around is to braid it. That will make it thicker and give it some weight and strength.

Sorry I know this is an old video but just a tip... You didn't have a jump ring handy and seem to do things budget savvy so I thought I might suggest this in a pinch trick: Have a twist tie? I strip half of the paper and or plastic off so I can keep hold of the fine metal wire better. I then twist 2 of the thin wires together for strength and feed the twist through the twine or ribbon, insert the charm and twist. Cut the wire with an old pair of scissors that you won't dull or if you have some sort of wire cutter even better. Make sure to use the side of the scissors or a butter knife or whatever is handy to press the cut ends down so they do not snag or cut anyone or thing. It uses up something a lot of us have hanging around and has a rustic feel when using twine or a vintage feel with ribbon. Hope you love waste not want not tips as much as I do. This one is 100% original. I haven't seen anyone else do it yet so feel free to share it. Great videos by the way been watching them all day. Guess that's how I ended up on some of the older ones. Thanks for the tips and sharing. I love your closures. I like that they adjust since I add stuff to journals and they tend to end up thick. Its great to know I am not the only one still using paper all my friends snicker and use their phones but I love my paper lists and love holding on to some of the old notebooks like time capsules. Others I art journal in when trying new techniques before using the "expensive" papers.. Have a great day!
2016 video. You probably know by now. That putting the paper in notebook/front cover, line it up/clamp, pencil marks work best, erasable, cut or chomp off rounded corners/before or after gluing/tapeing. Fit perfect. Those black clips work good, they come in all sizes. Great calm video with instructions. JustAThought
You want to be careful using your lisence or any card with your information on it someone could zoom in and get it from off the card (Just saying)
I have a used walmart gift card I use lol.
I was gonna say that its an awesome use for the driver's license! LOL we don't get to use it for much else! LOL

Thank you so much!!!!! I have wanted to make a junk journal....but I get so many nice supplies to make it! BUT....Idon't sew and don't want to put all the holes in the spine!!! I CAN DO THIS!!!!! AND I can use my pretty scrapbook paper inside too! I'm SO relieved there's an altered book!!!!!!! Now I won't be so anxious as to whether I can do it or not!!!!!! Thanks a lot#!!!!!!

Gorgeous book..just a suggestion- measure with a ruler how wide and tall you need then cut with paper cutter..then use a corner rounder on corners.
Beautiful Book. I might make a suggestion on how I would measure the book for the exact cuts. I would just use a ruler and measure the book and/or the book may have the measurements on it, paper normally does. Then you can cut it the exact measurements. Good Luck. God bless you!

Love this Altered Composition Notebook. Just beautiful. This paper pad is one of my all time favorites. I used up the ones that I had, and then my husband hunted some down for me on Ebay. Paper Studio is Hobby Lobby's brand. Michael's Brand is Recollections.
I was always wondering what the trick was to smooth it out so that it won't bubble up. Thank you for the trick. I am a disabled person who likes to do things like this as a hobby.

Believe me i dont"t know how old you are I.m 56 I hated all this new technology but for You tube it"s great my kids think I should learn it in a day I'm like yeah right you have no idea what we grew up with and how we did things lol they will spend minutes looking for the tv controller instead of just getting up and change the channel lol I dont"t even know if you will see this comment since you're video was awhile ago but oh well !!!! love your videos

Beautiful papdr and book Kimberly . A much easier way to measure. Place the paper how you want it on top of book then flip both over, aline the edges then trace around the notebook and you should be good.

Put a hole with paper punch in paper first then turn the punch for the grommet with the long side on top then crunch it closed. Works better if you put a hole in the paper . THat works a lot better.
Your book is beautiful!☺ I'm sure your friend will love it!!! I agree with you the string is better. My fav is the pale blue ricrac ribbon, but the cross adds a sweet subtle touch. BEAUTIFUL!💜

You did a great job on this book but you might want to remove the video. You placed your state drivers ID on the table face up and then discussed protecting your family's privacy. Old ID or not, that is not good dear to let the world see that kind of info. Editing would have a been a great thing this day. God bless.

Are you still making craft videos? I like what you've done. What a money saver not buying dies for basic shapes! Amazon has a few different templates available. I also like to do journaling and they will be great for that! I'm looking for meal planning binder or notebook ideas. That's how I got here :)
I'm about to take one of these composition books apart, cut down through the stitch line, Trim off the rounded binding edge and punch holes with my Bind-it-all machine to put the Owires in. I want it to be flat when working on it.

I place a piece of wax paper under the item that I'm gluing on the edge and I don't get glue any other surface and the clean up is easy

I would have not re-cut the cover paper though. It would have become a creative moment where I gessoed and painted or stenciled quick florals and greenery blending it into the paper colors.
