Great tutorial! Everything was explained perfectly and was easy to follow. I'm processing a 1,000 letter project today and am being sent the addresses in Excel. Thank you so much for taking the time to do this video!
I had not done a mail merge in years and could not remember how to do one. I found this video and I was able to follow along and get it done. Thank you for posting this. You made the whole process simple. I will be looking up your channel when I need more Office help.
You just saved my non-profit group so much money as now I know how to mail merge for our mailings! TY!! Clear, concise, and helpful teaching and presentation.
Kevin I know you made this video some time back, but it recently came in very handy for helping me create mail labels for a wedding and the invitations. I much prefer using Excel for creating data for obvious reasons and this worked great.
I was in a panic and your video was just what I needed. Very clear explanation and I was successful in creating labels for our organization. THANK YOU!
Hi Kevin, This was way more helpful than the other 3 videos I watched. I used to used this years ago but you snooze you lose. I am always soooo grateful for your videos. The other day I was trying to learn about SEO and I was thinking "where the Heck is Kevin????" Anyway, you are awesome and helping this 50 year old stay in the game!
Thank you ever so much for the fully detailed procedure. I have worked all day trying to get the mailing labels to convert to labels. I was using the help from the software and there was just one step that it did not include. Now that I know the steps....mission accomplished.
For instructional videos you are definitely at the top of your profession. You have a KISS approach but with the sophistication to raise the bar when necessary. Your pacing is spot on. As a starting point for Windows related tasks, and many others, you should be the first stop..
This was so great. I needed to try to figure out exactly what you were talking about, and I've been researching for hours. So Simple and easy to follow you. Thank you so much.
Thank you so much. I used to do MM docs all the time, I couldn't figure out why I was getting just one label autofilled and not the others, thank you for pointing out that I needed to "update all labels". Thanks again.
Thank you. I don't make labels often so every time is like a first time! This was clear and I followed you step by step, stopping the video and doing the same step in Word. I am looking forward to Windows 11 which should require less back and forth!
I wanted to thank you for the very useful tutorial. I do need to point one thing out, however. None of your labels for New Jersey will get to their location. Mail Merge dropped the 0 at the beginning of the zip code. I had hoped you addressed this issue in your video, but apparently you did not notice it.
I notice that your labels have an added space before the name on the top line, just like mine had. I "fixed" mine by adding a space before subsequent lines in my Excel document so at least they'd all line up on my labels. Do you have a better fix for that?
Would be nice to do THIS in Mac Office 365. There is no wizard. No address block. Manually have to add fields manually. Took me all day to figure out how to do this. Your video helped with update and a few others, but a lot of differences on the Mac.
Good Video. Here is my problem with envelopes or labels. The US Post Office likes addresses to be single-spaced. If you look closely at your resulting labels they are double spaced. The OCR at the post office has difficulty with the blank lines. Second, my Access table/query has fields that are blank like a second person's name that needs to be included in the address or an additional address line like Add2. When you conform to the US post office address guidelines by putting a soft return (shift + enter), the merged label or envelope includes blank lines for missing data. In other words, it doesn't suppress blank lines when no data is present in a particular field. How do you suppress lines in a merged label, envelope, or letter when not all the records have data for all fields?
The tutorial was great but WHY do the labels come up double spaced?? I have changed everything I can find to single spacing but it still prints double spaced. Some of my addresses are 4 lines.
need to know how to correct the spacing of the labels. you have a very nice 3 line label; my labels are too tall for the label--although I have selected the correct label. There's too much space between each line.
Very useful video, this explains everything. I do still have a problem, for some reason when I select my format of Labels and I choose the exact one I have, it's still wrong and when I print it out it isn't the same format as my labels
Every Christmas I create labels for Christmas cards and every year I am on UA-cam getting a refresher. Great simplistic presentation. Thank you.
Exact same deal--I do this once a year, can never remember how I did it last year, and come back to this video to figure it out.
DITTO!
Excellent presentation. Very clear, economical with words, straight to the point. One of the best tutorials I've seen. Thanks

VERY WELL DONE!-I HAVE USED THIS VIDEO SEVERAL TIMES OVER THE PAST THREE YEARS TO DO LABELS. THANKS JOHN
Thank you. I tried mail merge four times, then followed your tutorial step by step and it worked the first time.
I was in a panic and your video was just what I needed. Very clear explanation and I was successful in creating labels for our organization. THANK YOU!
Kevin's short training videos have been so helpful in so many ways over the past several years.

This was so great. I needed to try to figure out exactly what you were talking about, and I've been researching for hours. So Simple and easy to follow you. Thank you so much.
Thanks for the refresher, I haven't done this in thirteen years, I used to use mail merge daily.
Great video and easy to follow. Created labels so much faster than I was doing by copy and pasting to label template. Thank you very much!
Man, you made it so easy to understand. I clarified two issues that simplified the process. I was trying to figure it out. THANKS!
By far THE BEST VIDEO ever on mail merge. Thank you for the wonderful and easy to understand presentation!!!!!

I agree wholeheartedly!
You're a life saver and thank God MS doesn't change much over the years.
Came back for more. This time I typed a step-by-step instruction from you video. I'm glad it was still up. Thanks again.

This enabled me to get my Christmas card list printed once again! Thank God for UA-cam, and I mean that literally.
Wow! So helpful! Your step by step saved me hours of trying to figure this out or retype into word. THANK YOU!
Thank you so much. I used to do MM docs all the time, I couldn't figure out why I was getting just one label autofilled and not the others, thank you for pointing out that I needed to "update all labels". Thanks again.
Thank you for this lesson. Simple, clear and easy to follow for my project.
Excellent THANK YOU!! I followed you step by step, and was finally able to print out my address labels.

Thanks. I use this for Christmas card labels once a year and never remember how I did it. Don't go away...ever.
Well done. Took all of the uncertainty out of making label mail merge.
Thanks brother! You really saved me ALOT of time and frustration!
This is amazing. You saved me hours of copy-pasting labels

This was insanely helpful, more than you can know.
Thank you! I was stuck on a step and couldn't figure out why my merge wasn't working. This helped a lot!
Very helpful Kevin! Thank you so much!
Kevin, super tutorial! I used your teaching on this Sunday morning to make a mailing list for my scouting group. This is very helpful!
Thank you for saving my job! I might be able to slide through for a few more weeks. LOL
Thank you. That was easy way better than trying to copy and paste all those addresses.
Wow so far the best one I can understand. Thank you
Excellent I was able to make my labels with ease with Kevin’s step by step. Thanks.

Thank you so much. This looks so easy. I need to do this for wedding labels
Thank you so much I was at work trying to figure this out for an hour 🤦🏻♀️
Thank you. I don't make labels often so every time is like a first time! This was clear and I followed you step by step, stopping the video and doing the same step in Word. I am looking forward to Windows 11 which should require less back and forth!
This is the best tutorial! Saved me hours at my job !!
Out here doing the lords work - thank you!
Thank you! This is exactly what I was looking for.
I learn so much from you. Thank you so much!
I forgot how to do it and this video made it so simple. Thanks
Thank so much for this tutorial. It was very helpful.
This was a big help! Thank you, Kevin!!!
I wanted to thank you for the very useful tutorial. I do need to point one thing out, however. None of your labels for New Jersey will get to their location. Mail Merge dropped the 0 at the beginning of the zip code. I had hoped you addressed this issue in your video, but apparently you did not notice it.
Same, I have zip codes properly formatting and displaying in the source Excel sheet, but Word is butchering them 😞
I notice that your labels have an added space before the name on the top line, just like mine had. I "fixed" mine by adding a space before subsequent lines in my Excel document so at least they'd all line up on my labels. Do you have a better fix for that?
I was frustrated until I found this video,Thank You!

Thank God for this - the program itself is INFURIATING. This video is so good. HATE MAIL MERGE.
Thanks for the help this holiday, again, Kevin! Same time next year?
had to do this for my computer science class great vid thx!!!
I would correct the ZIP codes that begin with a "0" by changing to text for the zip code block in your spreadsheet.
Awesome...I've been pulling my hair out trying to figure this out! Thank you
Ok so I tried it, but Word only spits out the first 30 labels? How do I get ther rest of them on the word document?
Good Video. Here is my problem with envelopes or labels. The US Post Office likes addresses to be single-spaced. If you look closely at your resulting labels they are double spaced. I have the same issue too regarding double spacing.
You should also check your settings. If the "Confirm File Format" box is checked under "options, advanced' general"
Loved your clearness in explaining and I was truly satisfied.
Good tutorial brief and to the point. thanks for the refresher.
The tutorial was great but WHY do the labels come up double spaced?? I have changed everything I can find to single spacing but it still prints double spaced. Some of my addresses are 4 lines.
Thank you for your clear and straight forward instructions.
so helpful, I found the answer to my question in your tuto - how to print all in one go ;) merci Kev !
need to know how to correct the spacing of the labels. you have a very nice 3 line label; my labels are too tall for the label--although I have selected the correct label. There's too much space between each line.
Highlight the row of labels and then format with the paragraph formatting function
Well done video and explanation.
still a great source for information. Thanks
Thank you so much for this! Super helpful.
Great tutorial - very much appreciated! Mail merge has always been scary like a root canal but you made this extremely easy. Thank you!
You were so helpful & thorough. Even though I had a different version of Word, I was still able to get it done!!! Thanks so much!
Very useful video, this explains everything. I do still have a problem, for some reason when I select my format of Labels and I choose the exact one I have, it's still wrong and when I print it out it isn't the same format as my labels
Wish I had your knowledge of computers, another helpful video, thanks 👍🏼
Perfect!!!! Saved me so much time! 😅
