Hi Kevin...you do a great job explaining the process however, for some reason, my version of MS 365 doesn't have the 'wizard' choice. I have to start with mail merge, select recipient from existing list. When I get up to the preview results step, I can see all the imported information on my letter template for all my recipients. When I choose 'finish and merge' and choose 'print documents', my printed output is missing doesn't all the imported information I was able to see in preview. Can you explain what might be happening here? thanks
How would you remove a data source to the same letter? Had to block out first four digits of an account # . After modifying the excel spread sheet ,not taking the updated list. Still showing full account #

I am working in MS 365 (recently converted), and attempting to distribute a document by mail merge to about 1,000 employees; while the merge functions no problem, the mail step does not seem to work. It appears that my email account is set up in Word, but I cannot figure out why it's not working. Any chance you can assist me with this?
Hey Kevin that was a great mail merge 101 video. I need mail merge 201. I had a very difficult time where you insert your mail merge in a document learning how you have to save it in a special way to keep the font style of the merged data. Then is there anyway just say you had 20 letters to do all different individuals is there a way to save the documents individually so that you could attach that document to a email ??? I need RE: Subject matter, person's name on line 2, person's address on line 3, and line 4 city, state & zip. Would this be called a unique field? Also, how do you maybe "right justify" or line everything on the far right so it lines up. I have subscribed to your channel - you do not answer questions or provide additional tutorials for formal business letters with RE: subject matter on the far right. I would like to communicate with you or someone and have a new tutorial just for this topic.
I use mail merge frequently. One aspect I still haven’t perfected is how to insert number fields in the document and have the commas and decimal points line up in a column of eight items. I send out 600+ letters and amounts are different in each of the 600 letters. For some letters the amounts might be in the hundreds of thousands for one field and less than $100 in a field below that. Sometimes they line up and sometimes they don’t. How can I get consistent results? I’m in Office365. Thanks!
Please remove the reference to Office 365. Merge does not exist on that. This video is how to merge letters with the desktop version of Office. If you only have Microsoft 365, you cannot merge documents.

For example, send to manager, using employee full name and showing a list of items that the employee accomplished. I need the list of accomplishments to pull into the merge letter on different lines. How do I set up excel in order to pull in a list to mail merge? I have over 100 lines in excel, so I sort by manager name then by employee in order to sort and find the list of accomplishments. Some managers only have 1 employee with one accomplishment, so that is easy. There are some managers that have one employee that have accomplished five items.I am not sure how to pull in those five items into mail merge on separe lines. I hope that makes sense. Thak you.
Yes you can. Just need to know to Column headings you want or need. Do you want it to just keep track of data (records) ??? Excel can do so much more. What is the end result(s) you want ???
