Actually, it was Robert's brother Ron that bought the belts two years earlier for his USA Championship Wrestling. After USA folded, the belts were used for Continental. And when Continental folded, the belts were used for the USWA.
No music, No pyros, No glitter, No lights, small studio audience, But this, less than 5 minute segment, was better than 3 hours of RAW. I really miss this because it was entertaining, dramatic, and had a story line that you could not wait to see play out over the next few weeks.
This angle is the trailer park cousin of the Tommy Rich/Eddie Gilbert angle from years earlier. Fuller and Lee aren’t Rich and Gilbert though. On the mic or in the ring.
Ironically for the bluecollar Tough Guy they promoted him as whether Face or Heel Ole Anderson might've been an even more self involved Booker oncamera to say the least. Whether against Sting, Dusty, The Road Warriors, The Rock and Roll Express, or getting kicked out of The Four Horsemen for that matter, or being present in the surreal melee of Roddy Piper's WTBS Atlanta Face Turn, going back to "The Big Turn of 1980" Ole had to have an iron fist in the activities. He even brought five JCP guys including himself to Jerry Lawler's playground in Memphis (speaking of Eddie Marlin) in 1986 and prevented Jerry from scoring the pinfall in his own hometown! Few Bookers before or since and few Promoters have been more camera conscious.🤔😔🎤🎼🎸🐴💎👔👞👞🤴🤼♂️B.W.🎉
He was always good as a heel. I can't see him being babyface. I think he could of continue wrestling in wcw and make his brother colonial ron parker lol.
Ron & Robert Fuller & Jimmy Golden ! I remember Ron Fuller vs Ric Flair for NWA HW title in Mobile, Alabama Expo Hall. Flair won by DQ of course but I remember it like it was yesterday. Ron Fuller in his red robe signing autographs for us kids as he walked to the ring.
lenny moses , it just depended on what they were told to do as to who was tougher. I just saw a video of Ron and Barry Windom vs. Brusier Brody and Stan Hanson in Japan. Brody and Hanson run over Ron and Barry like they were school girls. I just saw a video (recently in independent) with Ron managing Jimmy and some old guy and Robert managing a couple of gebronies in a grade school gym. Ron looking old, good reason he is old 70+. Robert same old Colonel Parker.
I actually see Fuller as the sympathetic one here. Lee is the one that made it personal and started blaming Fuller. They were just a bit off the mark with that turn I think.
SC W, Wow! Is there a legend that did NOT come from Memphis/CWA/CCW territory?Scott Hall, Sid Vicious, Ric Flair, Shawn Michaels, Kurt Angle, Jeff Hardy, Andre The Giant, this list goes on and on!
@timmy8271b If they knew that ahead of time, maybe they should have done the sympathetic babyface turn for Robert, make it really violent in those two weeks, and did a quick loser leaves town blow off.

This is REAL PRO WRESTLING! Not Vince McMahon’s circus!
Brian Lee looks like a young Hulk Hogan without the steroids...
Didya know Brian Lee was later
the 'fake Undertaker' vs real taker
How in the hell do you get cut after just hitting the floor after a DDT? I loved Memphis wrestling but sometimes they did really stupid things.

No better Marshall than firm Eddy. RIP, we miss ya
Damn I miss good rasslin!
So do I 😂
The Fuller's and Jimmy Golden, from way way back always performed here in Alabama. I'm old lol
I remebmer Jimmy & Robert when they were just starting.
Brian should never had believed him
Part of the storyline. Not real
@@ericphilbeck7858 Thank you Captain Obvious
@@grawakendream8980 Just making sure
Quick question: Was Jerry Lawler a heel at this time
Yes indeed
I love the way Jerry Lawler's just sitting back there chillin' at the announcer's table, watching all this
yea he wrote the script
@@jerryhenry662Probably thinking, "I love it when a plan comes together!"
Jerry was a heel at that time. He was on Robert Fuller's side.
Eddie always looks like a high school principal
That or a supermarket manager
Supermarket manager. I like that
Brian Lee, the fake Undertaker of 1994.
When I look at Robert Fuller, all I see is him dressed in white with a cowboy hat and holding that cigar in his hand when he did a promo.
Why did Eddie Marlin ALWAYS come out and get involved constantly?!! He HAD to be on TV! Most promoters stay off camera behind the scenes!

Robert Fuller was almost as tall as Brian Lee? Never noticed that... he must've been 6'5 or so.
Jamaal Crushaa both the Fullers were tall. Ron was 6-9 Robert about 6-5/6-6
6-5 both ways
I know Ron played basketball in college before he went into the family business.
Fuller was a TRUE heel. My goodness I hated him as a child
Corey Greenleaf yes, him beating Scott Steiner even in tag bouts was almost ludicrous.
He was always good as a heel. I can't see him being babyface. I think he could of continue wrestling in wcw and make his brother colonial ron parker lol.
Colonel Parker.
Get some help out there cause Lawler ain't doing nothin.
Robert Fuller was better off with his regular tag partner Jimmy Golden aka Buckhouse Buck
Young Prime Time Brian Lee
Fuller should've gave Marlin a DDT as well
Lmao

Brian Lee broke up Undertakers first marriage
a sad day in tag team history.
robert was not the tenn stud, his older brother ron was. ron was the best!!!!!!
so true. I grew up in Alabama. and Ron Fuller was one of the best promo men and workers ever.

Right
Do you have the angle where Downtown Bruno fought against Sylvia? Thanks
Jerry lawler left his coke can on the desk...lol..
Robert Fuller a legit 12 inch stud!!
Lol you crazy man
@CSAlmanac Well Fuller was only around for about 2 more weeks and Lee a little longer. Funny enough. Lee would come back a few months later as a heel.
Was Brian Lee related to the Fullers and Jimmy Golden?
Brian is related to the Harris Bros...
Wow well played. Nobody booked like Memphis.
+SuperBar2008 The WWE think they know it all already...sorry don't want to sound hateful.
Hate that being in Chicago we didn't get Memphis wrestling...only AWA, NWA, WCCW, &WWF......alot of talent floated through Memphis and Florida.....
Col. Parker?
Raymond Ford That would be correct
I actually see Fuller as the sympathetic one here. Lee is the one that made it personal and started blaming Fuller. They were just a bit off the mark with that turn I think.
CSAlmanac, you have a bright future as a heel commentator
He blamed Brian first
There is nothing wrong with punks
My daddy will ALWAYS be the best wrestling will ever see =) ROBERT FULLER IS #1 !!!
SC W Being a Tennessee boy, Robert Fuller is a legend in my book. My pleasure to watch him perform.

No way in hell
I'm sure he's your Dad..... And my Uncle
@@toddrichardson8595 wanna know how little I care if a random "Todd" on the internet believes me? Lol.

@2010sheff 3 years before
If they did a DNA test on that desk with all the blood spilled on it.. it would be interesting.
THE WWE AINT SHIT!
+tt To day,s wrestling AINT NOTHING BUT BULL SHIT.I LOVE ALL THE OLD WRESTLING I GROW UP ON!
