Embry promo about Eddie Gilbert. Embry sees a friend of Eddie's, John Gillam and brings him over. He attacks John and gives him a 2nd rope Piledriver.

It never ceases to amaze me to see all of the talent that came through Memphis.
Speaking of, was that stunning Steve austin stone cold Steve Austin? The video isn't clear enough, I think it is somebody plz clear that up for me.

Yeah a lot of the wrestlers got their start there. Master of Pain (the Undertaker) Jeff Jarret, Brian Christopher JR Fatu (Rikishi) Kurt Angle and a lot big names started here before going to WCW/WWE
The rock, Steve austin, the road warriors, rock and roll express, jim cornette, jimmy hart, hillbilly jim, hulk hogan, randy savage just to name a few...the list is long.
Eddie Gilbert is a real professional wrestler. What a heal. His promo's are epic. Very underrated all-time. Nobody gets as pissed off as Eddie did.😠👊
Love how beat downs are taken so lightly in Memphis wrestling...and funny how he said...one more swing...gets u suspended...GUESS THE OTHER 10X DONT MATTER...LOL!
Memphis wrestling was great back in the day! Lots of talented wrestlers and maybe the best announce team, Lance Russell and Dave Brown, ever.
This is so much better than the WWF and WCW shows at the time.
If we had More guys like Hot Stuff, Wrestling would Definitely be WAY more fun.R.I.P Hot Stuff........you were one of the greats.
Gilberts promos were a breath of fresh air compared to the teleprompter stuff that's out today. He was an excellent worker with above average ring skills and even better as heel, JCP just wouldn't give him the proper push he deserved because of his size but he was the man in these territories!

That super pile driver was epic.
It was very carefully and skilfully done, Tom Pritchard making sure that everyone was in the right position so Gillam would't really be injured whist looking very dangerous.
Eddie will always be my all time favorite wrestler. He could both work in the ring and cut awesome promos...
John Giliam did a good job of not moving after the pile driver.

Eddie Gilbert was totally under rated. Very much over in every promotion he worked but sadly, was used more as a glorified jobber in the Crockett NWA territory. Everywhere else,he was very over.

I know everyone will say this would never happen, but I did hear Pete Montana in Stampede Wrestling at the end of it's run in 1989 during an interview with Chris Benoit and Bif Wellington; drop the word fuck since Pete fumbled his lines and wanted to do it again, ala Sid Vicious in WWF (only Sid was G rated there).
I'm guessing this is after Lawler brought the USWA?
Embry was so hated, anyone he feuded with got face pops.

I'm from Oklahoma, and when this feud was going on between Texas and Tennessee, I was rooting for the Tennessee boys, because I didn't like the Von Erichs or Eric Embry. To me, Eric was an overrated scrub who I never understood why he was so over with the fans the way he was because he seemed like a homeless bum and Jerry Jarrett even said he was living down at the Sportatorium in Dallas at the time, because he didn't have a place to live!

Embry had vocal chops and could work. He pretty much single handedly revived World Class wrestling after the Von Erich’s began to fade. So the guy drew some money for a time.

I'm on Eric Embry and Tom Prichard's side on this one. I agree with Dave Brown that Embry and Prichard should feel real good after executing the pile driver on John Gilliam. Gilliam was Eddie Gilbert's friend, so he had it coming.
