  • Col Robert Parker on Ken Shamrock/Nasty Boys Beating Incident
Former WWE & WCW Manager/Southern Wrestling Legend Colonel Robert Parker/Robert Fuller discusses the infamous incident where "UFC Hall of Famer" Ken Shamrock was beaten and almost thrown off a hotel room balcony by a member of the Nasty Boys member Jerry Sags after Shamrock broke into their hotel room to beat up Knobs after a bar room altercation over a groupie. Parker was booking the wrestling league at the time and Shamrock had gone to Parkers room first. Parker was also the one who basically saved Shamrock from being thrown off the balcony by Sags have he had been beaten over the head with a phone and reportedly punched and kicked further to the point that his head was swelled.

@@hasanicoward4425 but was it this incident. Because it was Saggs in this story who hit him with one of them heavy @$$ telephones. I can believe it. But who's to say he didn't kick Knobs' @$$? MMA fighters are legit BUT, some of the Old School Wrestlers were just as legit. Difference being they were just straight up MEAN as well as tougher than nails. I've seen street fights between trained fighters and tough guys. 9 times out of 10 it's the trained fighters who ended up getting their @$$es handed to them because they're were fighting like they were in the Ring with rules. Can't get their mind set right that there are no rules in a street fight.

This story is proof that the saying "anger clouds your judgment" is so true. Shamrock was seeing red and walked into something without clarity. He was so angry he couldn't read the situation right and ended up on the bad end of the stick.. or should I say, boot lol.

I believe him 100%. This is consistent with every other version I have heard except Shamrock's of course. Doink said when he visited Shamrock at the hospital, he couldn't recognize him.

    • @-TheExposition-
      @-TheExposition- Рік тому +1

Yeah the stories do differ a little. This version of the story is probably closer to the truth as Knobs would have been able to show the police the bruises, blood, cuts he was given at the hands of Shamrock, given before Saggs hit him w/ the phone. Saggs was also very intoxicated and when you factor in the alcohol you can see how got so out of hand.
Both parties were wrong and while it's Knobs that's more wrong than Saggs, Shamrock is wrong because he wasn't thinking clearly enough to realize that he escalated the situation by kicking in the door and jumping Knobs. His anger also caused him to walk blindly into in that room unguarded. Even though Knobs was a complete POS for doing what he did it'd not like Saggs could have or even should have just stood by while Shamrock mauled Knobs.
I empathize w/ both Shamrock and Saggs because Saggs. Knobs I have none for. You don't just grab a woman's breast even if she is fluzie who sleeps around w/ the boys.

Robert Fuller "The Tennessee Stud" was a heck of an entertainer & heel Wrestler while in Memphis in 1988 while he had the "Stud Stable" He left in 1989 or 1990 to work in South Atlantic I believe working with Paul Jones & crew. He came back to Memphis as a face Wrestler in 1992 to team with Jeff Jarrett prior to Jeff's Double J days. Robert & Jeff had a bloody feud with the Moondogs. Robert didn't wrestle much after that.

Every time I hear this story I think of Sunny Corleone from The Godfather. He was always so angry and quick to fight and his anger eventually got him killed. Anger clouds your judgement. I've NEVER been knowledgeable about the southern territories and wrestlers other than the guys who I saw in Calgary from the South. Is this Robert Fuller? Wasn't Fuller a gimmick name? Wasn't the real name Welch? Was this guy a wrestler? What is he most famous for? Sorry for all the questions.

Yes he was a wrestler. He is apart of the welsh family. His brother Ron owned southeastern and continental wrestling. Part of the stud stable. Later on was a manager in wcw named col. Robert Parker

I don't take sides but this story provides a valuable lesson; martial arts hobbies do not make you invulnerable nor do they give you authority over people or the right to trample on their rights. There are middle-aged men out there who wasted their lives doing martial arts and their one track minds cannot accept that they are not the protagonist of a Steven Seagal movie where they can bully people with impunity. Keep your sports tricks in your sports gym and derive confidence from your sports achievement but learn where to draw the line or others will draw it for you just like happened in this case. And the only response the martial arts goofs have is that it is not "fair" that the victims did not just lie down and take it (literally). Beggars cannot be choosers and bullies cannot decide how their victims will respond.

I agree a small bit, on the streets is a lot different to a boxing ring, dojo, cage, etc, anything goes, no rules, shamrock was a beast of a man but the nasty boys were huge guys and two huge guys vs 1 drunk guy especially with weapons is a mismatch, but martial arts is never a waste of time, teaches discipline, fitness, good for mental health, and the majority of the time a good martial artist would beat the average man in a fight, but when there are no rules anything can happen..

Sounds like you really have an issue with people that practice martial arts? Which is weird. I do Brazilian jiu jitsu as a hobby, and enjoy it, and I have yet to meet any of these crazed middle aged martial artist bullies running the streets attacking people, that you are referring to. Most are mind manners people with good jobs, who like training and staying in shape. Has more to do with the fact of him being a hot head, and this was before his fighting days. I think you’ve been watching way too many movies, because what you have in your head, is good ways away from the truth, and pretty comical sounding.
