After Jim Neidhart's run in on 3 matches, The good guys(Lawler, Dutch Mantell, Idol, Fabs etc) come out and Jerry Jarrett talks about people being fined for run ins.
Here Lawler is being surrounded by men who, one by one, would turn on Lawler and make his life miserable. And every one of them would become Memphis legends. Memphis was blessed with the best talent.
Nobody wants to see every match end in a disqualification. Vince Russo must have missed this episode. He loved making every match a DQ. One of the reasons Cornette is so pissed at him
I lived with these people. I'm from 25 miles from Memphis. Grew up at the midsouth coliseum. Hogan,Flair,Bockwienkel,Race,Mean Mark,Psyco Sid. So many legends
I was always a Lawler fan but watching these old videos today makes me rethink things. Haha. You didn't hear about how he would always hog the TV time and how alot of wrestlers didn't get their TV time because Jerry would either walk out and talk when it wasn't his time or when it was his time he always went over his time which ment someone always lost their time. Many of those guys drove MANY miles for that TV taping and was promised tv time only to bet there and not get any if it. It also made things worse for me to find out he couldn't fight in real life and was a bit of a coward. As a kid though you don't think of those things. As a kid I was a big Dundee fan and I also looked at him a bit differently when I found out how he really was.
I'm pretty sure that's Dutch Mantell; he looks awfully tall because he steps up on the announcer's platform. You can see his true height when he first walks in, before he steps up on the platform.
For a guy that was in the wrestling business (still is with IMPACT/TNA wrestling with his son Jeff) as Mr. Jerry Jarrett has been he's stayed relatively handsome. How's that possible?
that's not right if they ask you to help someone in trouble in the ring when others go way too far and you still wanna fine them $1,000.000 for butting in helping a friend in need bringing ganged up on .no way I'd take that, it's dirty, only should fine the trouble makers that do stuff just to be rotten evil devil.
So not fair at all, stupid, don't ask for and then turn around and fine them$1,000cux of dudes wining,he wanted others to be fined and not him,he wanted to be only one get away with it.dumb rules at the time of this.
Im sure youll find thousands and thousands of "wimpy" Southern guys who would beat the brakes off you. Go into a bar outside thencity limits of any Southern city or town, and talk that BS to the "wimps" in there.. you'd change your tune real quick.
RIP Jerry Jarrett. He died February 14th 2023. What a tough day to lose a loved one. .
Rest In Peace Mr Jerry Jarrett
Lance really went after the heels.
Here Lawler is being surrounded by men who, one by one, would turn on Lawler and make his life miserable. And every one of them would become Memphis legends. Memphis was blessed with the best talent.
They ALL HAVE TURNED ON LAWLER!!
Nobody wants to see every match end in a disqualification.
Vince Russo must have missed this episode. He loved making every match a DQ. One of the reasons Cornette is so pissed at him
Dave Brown used to do the nightly weather on Channel 5 during the week for over 20 years.

Jerry Jarrett - passed today.
Wonder if it is worth it anymore
As a kid I loved watching "wrassilin"
It’s rasslin
just got to love Lance..he is the best of all time!
Gina ketchum Best comment! :)
Him. Bob Cottle. Gordon Solie and Jim Ross are the deans of the announcers tables in professional wrestling. Period.
@@daviddavidson8050 Bob Caudle is so underappreciated, glad you mentioned him. :)
@@jonathanturbide2232 a classy fella! Truly remarkable and unique person who came along at the right time in professional wrestling. I love the man!
I miss Mr. Russell.....His voice is burnt into my memory.
Nobody could ever afford a thousand pound fine in a Jerry Jarrett promotion, like Dutch said some of them weren't even on food
Most of the dollar amounts were part of the story. Like another example: The battle-royal prizes.
my childhood wrestling
Funny how that rule was no longer enforced when Robert Fuller's Stud Stable came along a few years later
My favorite wrestler all time on memphis wrestling Jerry the king Lawler
As long as you didn't go in the ring ,there's no fine. You only get fined if you ENTER THE RING
Two words: Chicken Salad
So funny that everyone Lawler was out there with would be a major nemesis of his at one time or another
Jerry always thought he was the "Golden Boy" of this particular wrestling association. Sometimes he let things go to his head!
THEY ALL GOT MORE HEAT THAN HE, SO HE TURNED THEM INTO FACES.
The lawler Gilbert Feud had not happened yet. Gilbert had not been a heal yet at this point in his career.
He put them all over. He helped make them
How long ago was this
What year did this happen?
He still does the Weather on Ch 5
Steve Holsten Dave Brown is now retired from WMC-TV and Memphis TV News
No. It's Dutch Mantell.
RIP Jerry
Cool
wow great rull
@TVTraX Jerry Jarrett was being Professional seeing as he was the booker here. also he is not a wimp. He used to wrestle all the time back in the day.
Invented the scaffold match
Is he Jeff Jarrett Father?
@@rodikalicharan7596 Jerry Jarrett is Jeff's father
That is Dutch.

He was part owner so he had some serious stroke!! Only Dundee,Idol and Mantell and Hart had enough enough (stroke) to compete with him on the stick!!!
@DeepSouthWrestling1 Don't forget Mama Christine in Louisville.
Alex Batey yep Mrs. Christine Jarrett.
I'm pretty sure that's Dutch Mantell; he looks awfully tall because he steps up on the announcer's platform. You can see his true height when he first walks in, before he steps up on the platform.
Mantell was the look out for Brody's murder was 5 ft 2.
Well you know
Memphis had 2 close wwf. Shutem down

How do you fine someone who is sent to the ring by the promoter
That was my question as well.
that's not right if they ask you to help someone in trouble in the ring when others go way too far and you still wanna fine them $1,000.000 for butting in helping a friend in need bringing ganged up on .no way I'd take that, it's dirty, only should fine the trouble makers that do stuff just to be rotten evil devil.
Is that Dr. Death, the bearded tree in the red shirt?
No, that's Dutch Mantell.
He only looks tall because
he's standing on the platform
where Lance's desk is.
@@nashburnette7247 Thank you.
Chicken Salad?
Antonius Johnson Well you take the chicken and the mayonnaise, well you know

Lawler comes off as a scared snitch
If Bill Watts was Marshall Dillon running Mid South, Jerry Jarrett was Barney Fife running CWA
Jerry really didn't appear on tv that much. Eddie Marlin had the Bill Watts presence in Memphis.
Ah Jerry Jarrett....the charisma of a slug. Southern guys sound so wimpy. Thankfully Lawler saved the segment.
