When I was a Marine during the mid Seventies, I would see these shotguns in our armory. The USMC continued to use the exact same weapon throughout WW2, Korea, and VietNam. Highly effective.
Mind you those Germans were the same guys that made gas that makes ur lungs melt so I think if anything a shotgun shell is fairly merciful in comparison

It destroys the victims respiratory system, leaving them to die from suffocation and even if you survive it affects your eyes as well, leaving you with ruined eyesight and severe lung damage. The french were the first to use gas in WW1, but they used tear gas.
The germans were the ones who introduced chlorine gas, or mustard gas as it is known as.
But the point still stands that germans accused the americans for use of inhumane weaponry while they themselves used chlorine gas and chlorine gas sounds like a terrible way to die.
It destroys the victims respiratory system, leaving them to die from suffocation and even if you survive it affects your eyes as well, leaving you with ruined eyesight and severe lung damage.
Not to mention the flamethrowers.
