He is smoll
Smol potato
I absolutely love this tank so much cuz its so tiny. Its adorable and i fucking love it.
U just wanna pet it ! :D
Billy Bob Thorton's Pet Anchoive
In fairness though, if you were fighting against this thing, you'd feel a bit different towards them.
My personal favourite tank was the landship, the first tank ever produced in the war.
Billy Bob Thorton Is Holding My Family Hostage If you think the FT 17 is adorable you should see the SU 18, it is based on the same chassis.
Then you should like the Panzer 1.
It's even smaller i believe.
Billy Bob Thorton Is Holding My Family Hostage STOP MAKING UE 57 ANGRY!!!!!!!!!!!!
otherwise known as.
the cheap kills while giving no help to the team tank on battlefield 1
Andreas Harices lol tru
2 men? hmmm dice should make something more into that
DUDE IKR but then again heavy tank better
+zakback99 ikr
WILL BATTLEFIELD 1 WILL ADD THE FT 17 WITH AN MG MOUNTED ON IT???
During the First World War the French made the FT-17 Light Tank, a 2 man tank that had a rotating turret. This was an evolution that would inspire the future of tank design as we know it. This tank would also be used way into the Second World War!
Simple History right as I watch that part
Did just the French have this?
No not just the French! Lots of countries used it including the Americans and the British army.
Thanks
can you do a video about the German K-wagon or the Nazi/ Germany Maus super heavy tank?...
2:29 That's Gorge S Patton!
TheXBOXGamerpro7281 yep George Patton commanded American tanks in WW1 as well as WW2
Young George S Patton
he was old even in his youth
Ah yes, the bloody dog
**slaped you in the face*
Rumor has it, that if crouch perfectly still and shake your head repeatedly it will go away xD
Captain23rd Gaming I be done that and it worked once
Maxwell Bolzman Omg xD

Captain23rd Gaming I heard😆
I tried that once, they showed no mercy.
Welcome to the Renault tank factory during WWI
Simple History did they still use the other tank made at the beginning of the war to or no
the Saint-Chamond has been used to the end of the WWI and the Schneider CA1 fighted in the Spanish civilian war. the Renault FT (improperly named FT-17) was created the go along these tanks.
You are comparing a WW1 tank with a tank from the end of WW2, not very fair.
please do a video about the hotchkiss machine gun
Same like Porche and Mitshubishi...
TANKS HAVE AN ADVANTAGE OVER HORSEMEN WITH SWORDS
The Weirdo poland proved that
Mr. Dingo Thats actually largely a myth. Poland even had its own tank, the 7TP
That's not special. Most countries had tanks by late 1930.
Unless said tank is a Bob Semple tank, and horsemen with swords are supported by entrenched archers.
James Monroe the majority of polish forces were not even armed with tanks. tankettes, to be fair.
I always personally found that the FT-17 looked almost like a toy and could even be described as being "cute" for a tank. Still, a revolutionary design which led to all of its successors adopting the design. Excellent and informative video! Looking forward to seeing more! Out of curiosity, but is it possible to do a production on armoured trains? Thanks!
I truely love it. It's my favorite tank
His son is cute too.
How "cute" would it of been if it was rolling up on you with a 37mm gun barking fire? Probably the last thing many goods saw with their mortal eyes.
I first saw this tank on the show "Lock and Load" with R.Lee Ermey.
I totally understand!
"Cutest tank of ww1"
Indy Neidell

Dave: the little tank that could
Awww... :>
Man of culture
'The Americans wanted it to be built according to their standards, so none of them arrived until after the armistice'
SAVAGE BOI
"Their standards" as if that meant anything. They wanted to use imperial and didn't get it done properly until 1919.
Luca Piomelli a
It had nothing to do with standards. The French factories already had their hands full building their FT tanks, so the US got permission to manufacture their own version of the FT in American factories. Yes a few changes were made like the engine was swapped out and the idler wheel was changed to a metal version, but the US didn't deny France from making them tanks, French factories were just not able to produce tanks for another whole army.
@Kaywen Li When?
@@filipeamaral216 different industrial standerds. Americans and britan made steel plates by inches, while france did it my cm...
Can you do the WW1 planes please.
Yes Fokker DR.1, Albatros DIII, Sopwith CAMEL please !!!!!!
Oliver Toronyi Ye there was probably no other planes than just those bf1 planes
Wrong, There was the Sopwith Dolphin, Pfalz series, Sikorsky S-22
specifically Bristol F.2-B and Sopwith Pup
What about the german sniper plane?
Fun fact: the Germans captured thousands of these from the French in ww2, they were used by police, and by the Luftwaffe to defend airfields from the French resistance, their armour is fine against 9mm submachine guns and bolt action rifles, there like a moving pillbox, the captured char-b1's and s-35's were used in the early stages of operation Barbarossa and against the allied invasion, a lot of the chat b1's were re-equipped with flamethrowers, their slow speed and decent armour, along with their 75mm hull mounted gun made them decent infantry support tanks. The s35's, despite being excellent tanks, proved no match for the 76mm guns of American Sherman's however they were used well against French guerillas.
I have a model of on of the char b1 flammpanzers, and hope to add a Luftwaffe ft-17 to my collection of axis veichles. Maybe I'll do the ft-17 in Hungarian colours, can support their fiat-ansaldo cv33, csasba 39m & panzer 38(t).
Imagine being a criminal and the cops pull up in one of these.
S35s were actually quite strong compared to the panzers during the invasion of France
Also, Somua S35 and Renault FT-17 is ironically the main tanks the German use during the early days of Normandy Invasion.
This is because most of the Panzer Divisions, equipped with Panzer 3, 4, Panther, Tiger and King Tiger, are forced to position themselves far away from the beach around Caen and Paris under Gen.Rundstedt's order.
As a result, the German had to rely on French tanks and any Panzer 3 or Stug or any German tanks attached to a unit located close to the beach to fight D-Day.
It will not be until 10 June 1944 that the main German panzers start to fight the Allies. Starting with Panzer 4s and a single Panther engaging Anglo-Canadian troops advancing toward Caen.
Based police force @@shotguntony4730
This is my favorite WW1 tank.
I adore this little guy here. Battlefield 1 got me interested in the tanks of WW1. I've got hundreds of hours into BF1 and the FT-17 is by far my favorite tank to use. It's surprisingly effective on the battlefield in BF1 if you know how to use it. You have to be passive-aggressive and not try and directly engage the heavy tanks. I'm on my way to 100 stars with it and it's a joy to drive in the game every chance I get.
i think this is the best and simplest way to learn history haha
Χαρης Μπαλατσουκας yup
French Foreign Legion flag ?
William short Film yes
Χαρης Μπαλατσουκας Vive la France ! Vive la Legion !
!!!!
How to make this overpowered.
1. Paint it grey.
2. Add a hexagon with a red and blue insignia.
3. Write "BC" on it.
4. Put a red heart on it.
5. Put 3 People in them.
6. Make the third person the commander.
7. Make them sit outside of the tank.
8. Put a pillow outside infront of the cupola.
10. Make them Highschool Girls.
11. Make them Japanese.
12. Make them wear Blue uniforms.
13. Make them sing "Song of the Onion."
There were many still in service with the french and other countries during WW2 and Germans used captured ones as tractors or for troops training. A nice little tank
The FT-17 is One of My Favorite Tanks, Thank you for Posting this.
This tank is so tiny. I would love to have it.
This is the video that first got me into history. Great stuff 👏
It was also exported to other countries a lot after the war. A very popular tank.
Nice. I was just using one on battlefield 1. Got wrecked ;)
Da Pump use the heavy tank or landship
AdventuremanNB I know I'm just saying
Da Pump Rotating turret gives you an edge over the other tanks though 😀
Simple History you can flank around and hit their weak spot
When get one ft I'm a killing machine
Simple history thanks know everything about my favorite tank
Very well made and entertaining video. I've subscribed.
The FT17 was used until the 1980’s. That shows just how successful it was.
If youre gonna do WW2 tanks you gotta start with the Bob Semple tank.
Primarch Alpharius XD
Primarch Alpharius new zealand stronk
AKA the worst tank fail ever. SERIOUSLY. A heavy MG would punch holes in it. The guns were haphazard. No cannons. 5 Bren machine guns. One guy had to lie on a mattress above the engine.
i heared that your country is now offically a continent, congrats!
what country?
Great video as always 👍, also paton looks great near that tank.
YAY, finally a tank video !
please do a video about the German K-wagon or Maus tank, I'd like to see what you can do. I would like to learn about them some more.
No tank can match the mighty Bob Semple tank!
Indeed, even the plexiglas fish tank shatters under it's power.
oh no...
@Sebastian Johns you mean the HMG and anti tank rifle breakfast
Awesome video
Simple history I love your videos =)
And yet ea still Insits that the French should be dlcThat bs
Yellowpanzer I still love bf1 but I do fucking agree
What is your research even America didn't suffer the smallest casualties that would be either Japan, Siam, or someone else. America suffered 264,000 casualties. Canada suffered 210,000 casualties. Don't disrespect those who served, lest we forgetforget.
*forget
yes but don't forget the 1 697 800 french casualties ;)
Japan did provide some destroyers to escort the allied convoys, I think in the Mediterranean Sea.
This is the cutest tank I've ever seen. Should make new version of this.
I like the use of photographs for this episode
Have you watched they shall not grow old?
Renault FT, the father of all modern tanks and the most efficient of WW1
I've always like the design of these tanks
My favorite tank.
in BF 1 ??
awesome vid
Can you do a video on the Vickers Armstrong 6 ton tank? I feel like it is a tank that played in important role in tank design because it became one of the most widely used tanks as literally every country either bought them or shamelessly copied them like they did the FT-17. It was so widespread that you would have instances like the Winter War and the Continuation War where you would see Vickers models fighting other Vickers models and captured tanks could be easily used because they were Vickers models.
A video on the British Mark Tanks would be great!
Great stuff! I love tanks!
There was also the TXF which was basically the same as the TSF but with bigger, more powerful engine and a bit well equipped, and the FT-17 Williams for blitzkrieg.
Generals and higher ranking officials all got the Baccara version, of course.
battle field 1 got me into ww1 And this channle i need to buy the book of simple hystory ww1
You should get into orthography too
Best tank of WW1 ! Obviously its french ^^
William short Film I'd rather have a Mark V male
William short Film Why "obviously its french"?
I never heard that french is some quality standard.
Vault-Tec Rep Not really. Tanks are an offensive weapon and France for the majority of the war did defence. Also if the Renault tanks were so good why would the Germans go for rarer tanks like the Mark V
Because the german didn't use light tank and it only arrivés in mat 1918. If you'd rather take a mark V, you would rather die. There is a reason why this tank was considered on of the best of the war
ToxiicWarfare I was a heavier tank and British used tanks first so naturally they would use theirs first
Cool video
Fun fact: Many of this same model of tank were used on the Maginot Line in 1939 against the German offensive.
They were also used by the vichy french in north africa
I'm pleased that I saw that photo of Patton here.
One of my favourite Tanks
I just have a question, how does the tail help it cross trenches?
Darth Paradox kind of, instead of the tracks sliding and the tank being stuck 90 degrees when crossing a trench, it would rest on those things
Darth Paradox so the back
Don't fall in
Darth Paradox i
The tail would push the tank out of the trench
Stability
I love this little tank
I love your videos.I like to learn about war things my favorite is war guns
This is my favorite tank!
such an iconic tank
I'm a simple man, I see a new simple history video, I click
Possibly my favorite tank
Nice!
It is so cute, I want a windup toy one all metal too! :D
We can agree that the ft is the cutest tank in the world
Should also be noted that it was widely exported and built under license all over the world. It is the single most influential tank design in history.
They should show this in schools its a easy and an effective way of learning stuff
this tank is my favorite tank ever
Love your guys channel!!! If I had money I would totally donate. Keep it up!!!
Do a video on the two flying aircraft carriers uss Macon and Akron
On est là
Fun fact! The Self Propelled Gun (SPG) version of the FT was called FT BS.
Nice tank. Cool design, Imagine that you as a german soldier are sitting in your trench waithing for the enemy atack. And when the Smoke cleares you these machines coming at you in great numbers
Can you make a video about the german a7v and the french char 2c please?
1:54 stonks
Hello! I was wondering if you were interested in creating a video about WWII resistance fighters ( Yugoslavian, French, Italian etc.) Thanks!

The 75mm is my favorite one.

1:44 How did this radio TSF tank work?
I appreciate the use of actual photos. Am i the only one who really wants the radio version? I would love a world war radio collection.
YAY THANK YOU
and also, the ft17 was used in ww2 too.
2:28 good ole patton 😂 suddenly shows up
3 fun facts for ya. The ft17 was the first ever tank that had a turret, the first tank ever was made by the British in 1915, and finally at 2:30 in the video the man you see in the picture is the famous American tank General is General George S. Patton of ww1 and ww2
The coolest tank ever!
Gunter Burstyns "Motorgeschütz" from 1911 was the very first "modern" tank design, nothing else!
He was from Austro Hungary.
fact:the italian army adopt the FT renault in their army and in their own version knowed as FIAT 3000 or L5/21 armed with 2 machine guns or with an 37mm cannon in the mod 31 and make it knowed as L5/31
it fought in ethiopa and in ww2 there it showed to being an tough reliable and strong machine yet suffer of being an obsolete machine
I liked this tank.
that tank is so cute!
nice
My fav in battlefield
Please do a tank video for the Tiger :)
I love the look of this tank
it looks nice
it is nice while annihilating heavy tanks and landships with ww1-kv2-like cannon... but half the size
0:38 the tank on the right kind of reminds me of the Hetzer for some reason
i feel like world war 1 became much more popular on youtube because of battlefield 1
Is this the first time simple history has used real video clips over animations for a vid?
