It would be cool to stand an empty refrigerator box behind the long range target so you can see where your misses are going. When you miss targets over 100 yards. Making the correct adjustment can be a huge pain.
Goes to show that 7.62x39 is under estimated. I hear people say all the time that its no good past 100 yards. I say its not the round its the shooter. Good shooting!
@cloverleafsippa713 in a defensive situation, you want to take the LIFE out of the person, not the fight. Only a fool shoots to wound. That said 200 yards is my limit on hogs with x39 for everything between 200 and 1500 yards i have my 300 PRC. Inside of 200 yards i've never had to tack a hog as all shot i take are head or upper neck shots. Same when i deer hunt. Im lazy, so i shoot to not have to track.
That's probably due to many, if not almost all shooting AK's and SKS 's using surplus ammo. I don't know if there are match grade bullets for this caliber but well made hand loads should already bring noticable accuracy and consistancy improvements.
not sure if you will read this but it can confusing to lose your shot at a new distance .I zero all my rifles at 100m and pretty much use the strategy for all the calibers so about 2 minutes up for 200m ,5 minutes up for 300m ,8 minutes for 400m and 12 minutes for 500m. there will be changes on the day with weather humidity and load, but this always gets me on target .I'm not that good a shot either but seems to work .
It’s crazy that myou can’t find firearms up in Tennessee. Here in South Texas, we can get just about anything your heart desires. I went to a gun show in Corpus Christi this past weekend and they had thousands of weapons, from handguns to Barrett’s. The gun shop I usually go to was 5here and brought their entire inventory, and they alone had over a thousand guns there. I went to get rifle ammo and walked out with all the ammo I needed. God Bless Texas.
I was getting about a 7" group at 200 yds with my Ruger American, and it took me a few shots to get sighted correctly as well. I went out to 400 yds, and my group opened up to about 20" by 12" at 400 yds- I think I only have a 9x scope on my American as well. I am glad you finally got a nice 7.62x39 bolt! I enjoy watching you shoot. No BS, just like I like it
Always interesting how well the 7.62x39 shoots in other platforms than the AK. I been waiting on better weather to dedicate a range day to my 527, my various loads and the shift in POI with the can. This morning is looking promising.
I have a 527 in 7.62x29 and haven’t had the opportunity to shoot at long ranges to see the bullet drop. Had your targets been freshly painted it would be easier to see the point of impact. Also a cardboard backer would be a helpful visual to see the drop. Cool video. The rifle has more long range capability than I thought.
My sks still has the bayonet on it. A tapco dress up kit. An all the original parts to put it back to the wood stock a really nice old gun not beaten up at all
If I remember right from AK Operators Union, a 25 yard zero equals 6" high at 100 yards, right on at 200 yards and 6" low at 300 yards. If you want more of an all around battle type zero.
@@tommyofthehillpeople how do you figure 6" high at a hundred yards and 6" low at 300 yards is a 12" group? How about a 1.5" group at 100 yards and a 4.5" group at 300 yards?
I've got the same rifle in a wood stocked, carbine version with the open iron sights. It's great for some of the areas in BC where I live that are densely forested. I have a 3x9 Leupold mounted using Talley QD rings. But now, after watching your video, I'm curious to see just how far this will shoot. I've tried different ammo. Hornady, Winchester, Federal. But the much cheaper steel cased Barnaul shoots just as well as the more expensive stuff. Maybe it's the .311 bullet diameter. I've not tried Wolf, but you got great accuracy out of that brand so I'll try some of that next time I take it out. Thanks for the vid on the CZ 527. This is one of my rifles that I'll keep forever. My appreciation for CZ started when I bought a couple of their rimfires. Fantastic, well made rimfire rifles. The new gen 457's are the Bee's Knees!!! You really should do a vid on one of those. I suggest the MTR version for crazy accuracy. Or the ultra lux version for a hunting version. Or, if you want something VERY unique in a rimfire, get the "Jaguar" version. It has a crazy long barrel for a .22lr. I think it's 28 inches. I have the 455 version. Same length barrel. But here's the really interesting part. The long barrel makes it incredibly quiet. I noticed it right away when using CCI standard velocity .22lr. Even mini-mags are noticeably quieter. Then I tried some Aguila sub sonic. HOLY COW!!! It was so quiet!!! It was like shooting with a suppressor. Minus an actual suppressor!!! The 457 MTR is stoopid accurate. The 457 Jaguar is stoopid crazy quiet. I highly recommend trying the Jag with subsonic ammo. It sounded like I was shooting an air rifle. Always puts a dopey smile on my face when I shoot it. Any subsonic ammo gives that effect. I've used CCI and Aguila. I like the Aguila sub sonic better by a slim margin in that rifle. But CCI for all other types. Standard Velocity. Mini Mags. Stingers etc. I generally use the SV version the most. It's the most consistent and accurate in all my rimfires. It even holds its own against most Eley versions with the bonus of being darn near half the price. But Eley Tenex in the red box just rules them all. It's routine for an average shooter like myself to get one hole groups with Eley Tenex in my MTR.
Nice video, WTW next time you bring out the cz 7.62x39 and shoot it long range can try shooting milk jugs so we can see what sort of impact that round has at that distance 👍👍
the hash mark are MOA . I think on that scope each larger tic is 1 MOA. = 1 inch @ 100 yards. your shots were hitting about 3 MOA to the right. do to the wind. elevation looked close.
Nice, I'm still waiting on the Ruger American Ranch in 7.62x39. The gun store said earliest would probably be end of this year, at the earliest. Keep on sending em down range brother. WHO-TEE-WHO
I live in Alabama. To use Kentucky windage down here you have to multiply by 2, divide that by 7 then add 3. Don't forget you have to be barefoot & hold your tongue to the left. Love that rifle!!!
Out here in Arizona, 2-300 yd shots are the Norm. I always enjoy seeing the look on East coaster's faces when I tell them that. They look white as a ghost, like anything beyond 100 yards might as well be the Moon. : D
I was just doing this with my ranch. I was using Hornady black and a BOG. @ 100 same group holes but at 200 couldn’t hit my 8X8. I still want to giver a go with a larger hi-viz.
My CZ 527 is 1/2” MOA at 100 yards with a Bushnell 1-4 AK optic illuminated reticle. She is a dream to shoot. All CZ products are pretty good! Great video! Try a couple different types of ammo. If you can find any... God bless you and keep up the good work I love your vids
Watched my husband hit a target at 300 yards with his SKS. Didn't know he was supposed to use a scope. He did it with the combat iron sights. Seems I should get him a scope.
I was shooting my SIG556R (7.62x39) last week at 300m/330y and was very dissapointed that I only was able to keep a circle of about 25in...seeing your video now, I think I was overestimating the capabilities of the 7.62x39 😅
Another good video. The 7. 62 doesnt drop much until 400 yards. And that wolf stuff works great people talk crap about it. It's good stuff I've fired thousands of rounds in my rifles and handguns with no damage. Semper-fi brother
Great video from sweet home Alabama. You keep heading down here and you might find you like it! Longest deer hunting season in the nation and highest deer density per square mile.
Don’t see many videos of guys shooting 300 yards standing using a tripod! Good shooting I usually sit using some kind of bench while targeting to get a better idea of group size but yup when out actually hunting stand, sit, kneel whatever works! I have one of those plastic folding shooting tables I happened to get onsale at Cabela’s has table and seat built in works well and is very portable.
This vid was fun to watch! My only suggestion would be set the target camera about 5 feet or more BEHIND the muzzle so the muzzle blast does not rock the camera. It had to refocus a couple of times right when the impact happened. Other than that, its fun to shoot a distant targets and try to connect! Hearing the ring of steel is rewarding. I like it!
Looks like fun with the 7.62x39, from now on when I'm adjusting the power of my scope, I'm gonna say "I'm giving it all the zooms". Ha. Years ago I use to hunt deer around Dadeville Alabama with dogs and buckshot, crazy high energy stuff.
The 220 Russian is parent cartridge for 6PPC the 22ppc and 30 Caliber Benchrest Cartridges just happens to be about the same case Volume as the 7.62x39 30caliber nockdown power mild recoil decent ballistics to max of 300yds hunting to 200yds. Very accurate when load tuned to rifle. Try pushing the trigger foreward if your rifle has the single set trigger. Can work trigger job to make 1.5lb pull and crisp with regular trigger for hunting safety. Mauser action smooth reliable.
I got my CZ527 in 7.62X39 with the BEAUTIFUL TURKISH WALNUT about 10 years ago ( with the LOSE OF 1.5 years dealing with the VIRUS CRAP it's hard to estimate TIME, PLUS I had a FIRE in my BEDROOM at 3AM (1/17/23) which didn't help much, LUCKY TO BE ALIVE, 71 years old). I did LOOSE a few of my TOYS, which the insurance company was NOT too helpful!!! LOVE MY CZ527 AND 452lr, great rifles. I got rid of my 30-06 Belgium Mauser 98 and my Tika T3 lite in 308, both were GREAT rifles but in my old age I've gotten RECOIL SENSITIVE!!! SHOOTING SHOULD BE "FUN" NOT A TASK OR PUNISHMENT, I LOVE TO "TARGET PRACTICE" so just shooting a couple of shots for hunting won't satisfy my need to SHOOT. That's why I've got numerous 22lrs because there are SO MANY COOL NEAT 22LRS out there because it's the OLDEST CARTRIDGE that is not only STILL AROUND BUT IS THE MOST COMMON AROUND THE WORLD AND IT'S THE "CHEAPEST" !!!!! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!!! 😊😊😊
Great video. I been curious about what that rifle can do. I stretched my 7.62x39 18” KS47 build to 500 yards with an 18x scope and made some consistent hits on a similar target.
I have a Savage chambered to the round. At 100 yards it shoots amazing with the 154gr soft point! I have quite a bit of it in Wolf, Cabelas’ Herters and Tula. It appears to be the same stuff I bought cheap years ago. It’s nice to know if things really go down, I can at least feed myself. Even if the deer all get poached, there’s gobs of feral hogs running around my part of the country and they’ve survived kill off attempts and trapping and even severe droughts! Once you get them, you’re stuck with them!
@@jl123ist it would take a while. They live from rough mountain country in the east to swampy country in the south to rough canyon country where I live. Lots of places that armed people own. Feral hogs are amazing. They can have 3 or 4 litters a year and the young sows can start getting pregnant before they’re a year old. Basically they can breed like rats. Texas is mostly private property unlike the west that’s mostly Federal or state land, so, you’ll have US government armed police to fight on public land. Not to protect the swine specifically, but the feds don’t like armed incursions. In Texas and most of the south, you’ll have armed property owners and their employees who will fight you too. Ironically, if you made friends with them, they would share their hogs, just not by force!
@@jl123ist my point is there’s enough rough land that even though you might not have to fight your way on, it’s just prohibitive to access it. Most city people will not go to places they have to trek for miles in rough, unfamiliar terrain AND carry everything they will need to live on like water purification equipment, cold weather gear, tools (chainsaws, fuel, hand tools) tarps meat processing stuff, hot weather things ( one shouldn’t attempt to try to make jerky out of pork even lean feral hogs.) If people are that free to move around what the heck are we talking about? It wasn’t that big a crisis anyway! Like you said, if domestic pork producing sights dwarf feral populations, that’s what the government will target for protection. There not going to go on every backwoods sight that might have a population of feral hogs, so there would always be areas that wouldn’t be occupied because actual roads and bridges would have to be constructed at huge cost. More costly than the resource would pay for. It would have to be a mass army like we took over western Europe from France to Germany like in WW2 and for what? A small percentage of what the domestic pork producers grow?
@@jl123ist I have no illusions about what they’re capable of or what they will do. I get along with my fellow rural neighbors. That’s one ring of defense. My closer ring is me, myself and I. I’m an old bachelor. I don’t have a wife and kids who can be used as leverage. A tactic all criminal regimes use for terror tactics. As a farmer who has to personally deal with pests big and small, I also have a thermal sight. And scoped rifles for daytime action. I’m not under illusions that I would have a chance against trained military snipers. I would like to think there’s plenty of former who would not turn on their own people, but there are many who would drink the kool aid and think they’re dealing with terrorists. I do believe in Jesus, so I also believe that when death comes, that won’t be it, but if we are cut off from modern medicines, I am a diabetic with asma, well if there are enemies present, I won’t sell my life short, but make them pay to the best of my ability and know they will lose in the end and will be dragged off weeping and blubbering to the lake of fire!
"Took a crack at it"..LOL That was entertaining, and it's surprising sometimes how we will over compensate with our hold over, just like I will tend to lead too much on moving targets. Those boolats go fast!! Thanks for sharing 🙂🙂
You need to get on a bench where you can sit down an eliminate some of the variables. I can hit at 300 with my AR 39 to regular, but I'm benching off of my tailgate in the desert, wind is my mitigateing factor, generally connect 4 out of 5, an 5 is very close.
The first of those 300 yard shots hit the dirt and if the target had legs it would be crippled , also I didn't see You reset the parallax to infinity . If you stay on the scope and spot the ground hits You can count the mil dots Your low and just go up that many dots . Shoot Straight Stay Safe & stay Well .
You know that CZ has a single set trigger in it you can put your finger behind the trigger and push it forward until it clicks and that makes it a hair trigger from target or match shooting CZ is one of my favorite rifles well the ones before the model 600 but im not going to talk about that lol
Good video! 7.62x39...If you listen to all the haters of these weapons, you're lobbing that round at 100 yards and 300 yards is unattainable. I have an old Chinese SKS and Brother, I've killed a ton of deer at 100 yards, or better, with fixed iron sights. I have full confidence in my weapon and maybe all those haters just can't shoot. Mine came with 1000 yard flip up sights, which I have never used. So maybe All the Russians and Chinese and the rest of the world who have gone to war for a decade with this round and these weapons are just better marksmen. It's accurate and I have seen the time when the ammo was cheaper than .22s. So let 'em hate, just don't let 'em talk you into missing with it. Thanks for sharing your adventure with us!

Looks like fun with the 7.62x39, from now on when I'm adjusting the power of my scope, I'm gonna say "I'm giving it all the zooms". Ha. Years ago I use to hunt deer around Dadeville Alabama with dogs and buckshot, crazy high energy stuff.
Good shooting way to recover dude
Did you find your magazine for your 22 magnum?
The 527 is crazy accurate.
But... I thought 7.62 wasn’t accurate? Good shooting man. Love the channel. Keep it up buddy you’re getting big!
Thanks for watching Lester
The 220 Russian is parent cartridge for 6PPC the 22ppc and 30 Caliber Benchrest Cartridges just happens to be about the same case Volume as the 7.62x39 30caliber nockdown power mild recoil decent ballistics to max of 300yds hunting to 200yds. Very accurate when load tuned to rifle. Try pushing the trigger foreward if your rifle has the single set trigger. Can work trigger job to make 1.5lb pull and crisp with regular trigger for hunting safety. Mauser action smooth reliable.
That CZ seems to be a really good shooter. To make a 7.62x39 shoot that consistently is kind of unexpected.
I love that cz
Dang!!! You were close to me...and i missed it! Oh well...love the vids! Keep 'em comin!
It will go further! Especially on a bench rest with the right scope
Awesome video WTW. Thanks fir sharing and great shooting brother!🤘🏽🇺🇸
Thanks for watching Michael!
I have the same rifle, did you have any issue with the barrel not being centered in the stock?
No
Im thinking of buying the Radical AR15 in 7.62x39. Good rifle, great price, cheap ammo, and lots of fun 😁.
"Took a crack at it"..LOL
That was entertaining, and it's surprising sometimes how we will over compensate with our hold over, just like I will tend to lead too much on moving targets. Those boolats go fast!! Thanks for sharing 🙂🙂
Oh yeah! Looking forward to some long range action! 👍
Thanks for watching Jesse!
@@WHOTEEWHOYou bet! Thank you for the great videos!
🙏🙏🙏 truly appreciate you watching. I'm working hard at it. New video every day
@@WHOTEEWHO I don't know how you do it but I appreciate it. Your videos give us all something to look forward to each day. Thanks again
What brand is that tri pod and where can I guy get one?.
How’s this compare to the ruger American ranch in 7.62x39?
I like ruger better
what hold over were you using?
Another great video Who_Tee_Who!
🙏🙏🙏
Can you get a 1 inch group from 100 Yards on a bench with this rifle/ammo?
Yes
Did it in a video
So what wins? The Ruger American or the CZ527?
Cz
You need to get on a bench where you can sit down an eliminate some of the variables. I can hit at 300 with my AR 39 to regular, but I'm benching off of my tailgate in the desert, wind is my mitigateing factor, generally connect 4 out of 5, an 5 is very close.
This was just a fun video to see what I could do from the tripod
The first of those 300 yard shots hit the dirt and if the target had legs it would be crippled , also I didn't see You reset the parallax to infinity . If you stay on the scope and spot the ground hits You can count the mil dots Your low and just go up that many dots . Shoot Straight Stay Safe & stay Well .
yes we need more videos like this!
More soon
Great video. "all the zooms" love it
ALL THE ZOOMS!!!
Did you bring that .22-250 down with you too?
No. I already made a video shooting that one 1,000 yards
I finally got mine Who! Love it! Gonna see what I can do with the iron sights...
Awesome!
Good video! Got my notification at 9:15est time Lol😂
Daggumit! Thanks for watching Derek!
What are the specs on that P5 scope?
Good video! Just wondering, any extraction/sticking case problems with steel cased ammo? Thanks!
Don't recall any problems, no
@@WHOTEEWHO Thanks, thumbs up for the cool video!
You know that CZ has a single set trigger in it you can put your finger behind the trigger and push it forward until it clicks and that makes it a hair trigger from target or match shooting CZ is one of my favorite rifles well the ones before the model 600 but im not going to talk about that lol
Yup
Lots of haters on this round!
@@WHOTEEWHO yeah...You know you can't teach somebody that already knows Everything, a damn thing.
How about investing in a can of paint for those targets??
Had paint. The battery was dead on the 4x4 vehicle to drive us down there
Good shooting
Thanks for watching Jacob!
What up who tee who i finally shot my new thompson center venture 2 in 300 win mag yesterday and only got scoped twice lol no pain no gain love the gun very fun to shoot
