There are few youtubers reviewing this gun. im just happy to see someone finally dive into it and not just shoot it.
:) Wait until you see the no gunsmith scout rail Amega Mounts will be sending us to review! should make this rifle even more fun!
Good informative video! I would recommend to anyone with a new 527 to grease the trigger group the first time the barrel is removed, work the action a bunch of times, and then adjust the trigger. Both my 527's were dry as a bone out of the box and lubing all the moving parts made as much difference as an adjustment. I'm patiently waiting for the return of my Carbine in 7.62x39. It's at CZ USA getting the stock replaced and bedded.
Thanks for the video! Got my 527 varmint just how i like it now👍.always been afraid to mess with "adjustable" triggers but this was acually pretty simple with your help
Thanks for the video, but thanks 9 times for the reassembly trick of keeping the mag in the DBM. It went together so easy!!
I bought the CZ 527 MTR in a 6.5 Grendel and I changed out the factory stock for an aftermarket one (the MTR is a target style stock). I only wish that I had watched this video, especially the last few minutes, for the awesome advice on the magazine refitting. I broke the "magazine catch spring" before I knew what was happening! If you felt so inclined, I would recommend a stand-alone UA-cam featuring the last few minutes where you reassemble the magazine well to the rifle. Those magazine catches are flimsy. Great video, thanks!
I will be doing this sometime this week after my new bolt handle arrives. Your video should make it easy now, Thank You.
right on! Enjoy!
What that one guy in the forums said must have been true. Whoever is responsible at CZs factories for choosing wood must really love small calibers, because they gave my 22H some absolutely lovely wood!
Thanks for the tutorial...I'm adjusting mine as we speak!
right on man!
Just tried the triggerjob out ! Fantastic explination and review 👌
Great informative video, it helped me to adjust my trigger settings, properly and safely.
My 550 has a fixed mag. However the trigger is identical.
Thank you for the video. I have had my CZ's for several years. It was time to tune down the triggers. Your video helped me. Now it is time to get better acquainted with my lighter triggers, and who knows maybe tighter groups. They are already under 1" at 100 yds. Love those 527's for prairie dogs!
no problem Ray! Thank you for posting!
Great vid...want to confirm that folks need to insert magazine and magazine release into trigger guard housing assembly prior to inserting into stock. Failure to have magazine installed during insertion results in upper and lower not aligning with stock properly as well as difficult if not complete failure of the magazine to seat and loss of being able to remove magazine.
I found this out the hard way
Yeah, If I had that set trigger I wouldn't even bother---looked great as is.
Very informative I've watched it because I could not get my magazine back correctly. sorted now thanks
Nice to see that CZ is running with no issues after getting the new stock.

Cant wait to get my forward mount put on !!
Great video. I have a very very early cz550 battue with ramp sights and a short barrel, four round fixed mag. It has a 2moa 9000sc red dot on it and is chambered for 7x64 rounds. It is absolutely fabulous, even with the red dot it can group at less than 1" at 100m. I use it for driven boar and deer here in France but it is good with a scope easily to 600m.
I need my trigger to be"heavy", safer when snap shooting running targets
Dude - this video was super helpful. Thanks :) works like a charm now. Wanted to swap it for a timney replacement. Now it's fine as it is
no problem! I know the Timney triggers are nice, but the CZ527 trigger is excellent from the factory! no real need for anything else!
Congratulations, it is a very clear and comprehensive video with excellent images.
I am not a professional gunsmith but I think I can set my trigger properly just safely following your tutorial.
thanks, Luciano
thank you for watching the video!
I tried to increase the pull weight of the main trigger. beyond a certain point, too much compression of that spring will disable the set trigger.
I just ordered this gun, thank you for making this useful video
no problem, I think you will like it. This is my favorite rifle!!
to install that cheek rest you have to drill the stock, right?
thats correct
Man, you can definitely see the difference between a Tikka and Cz right there.
Outstanding video. Thanks for posting.
thank you!
Once again an excellent video . When my rifle gets here I will watch and use your instructions. Thanks for the info .
no problem, thanx for checking it out!
Very well made and informative video. I adjusted my 527 Varmint trigger while watching and it came out great... Thanks
thank you!
I know I'm late to the party here, but I wanted to say that this is great information. I have a CZ 527 in .204 Ruger and this video was very helpful in setting up my trigger. I now have my set trigger at 1lb, 5oz, and the regular trigger at 2lbs, 11oz. That's about as low as I can get it. My .204 now does mainly target duty, so having a lighter trigger helps with accuracy. Thanks!
May I know what size wrench you used to adjust the nuts on the trigger? Didn't know you could get those that small. Thx in advance.
Thanks. Unfortunately the CZ does not describe how to disassemble or reassemble the rifle. Knowing the "trick" of having a magazine in the well makes all the difference. love these rifles.
Good informative vid....Good stuff as I dig CZ firearms...Looking forward to the scout mount....
Thanx Scott! I cant wait for the scout mount! Around February.
Best instructional vid yet. Well done mate!
Glad it helped
Such a nice little rifle.
I love it, cant wait to put the scout scope on it!
Nice video! I think it's really important to show what happens if you over tighten or loosen the screws too much, as a sort of troubleshooting guide. I have the 223 varmint version, they are great rifles!
thanks man!
I recently picked up an unfired 527 in 223. The trigger has some side to side play/wiggle but when I “set” the trigger it does not. When the trigger isn’t pushed forward in the set position is some side to side wiggle normal? Thanks and great video.
Great video, thank you! Got a question does this also works on CZ527 MTR rifle?
Great video, thanks for sharing.
Nice cheeck pad where did ypu buy this one ?
great job. thanks for posting that, was very helpful.
No problem, Frank!
Really nice video! Helped a lot!
@2:52 "reassembly of magazine latch at end of video"; but doesn't mention it again.... ?
At the end of the video..
@@ZRUSOutdoorsChannel oh, sorry. thank you.

Excellent class. Thank you.
Thank you for watching!
One reviewer of the Browning X-bolt said he absolutely hates the trigger simply because it has no travel after the break, and it's a deal breaker for him. He's got to have some travel after the break, without it, it's just wrong.
I can see that.. Honestly, anything after the break is purely preference
Just got one of these in 7.62X39. Really happy with it, but it came with different sights. The rear sight is angled towards the rear of the gun with glow in the dark dots, and there is a fiber optic sight on the front, with a different looking shield over it, lots of material removed to let more light in. Also, the trigger is super nice. NO creep at all. Best trigger I have ever had, right out of the box. Did CZ just come out with some new update on this gun?
not sure, im kinda jealous now haha
Here a while back, I purchased one of these in .223 and my sights are like yours. I would say we both got lucky.
I am sure you all know by now these new sights adjust with two screws. No need to order new front sight for elevation. Just bought one two days ago. We are blessed I think.
I LOVE RIFLES
Thank you...very helpful. Western Austrakia for your info..
Capt Cooties hello! Thanks! Glad it helped you!
I'm looking forward to seeing that scout mount. I hope they make it so I'll be able to still mount a rear NECG peep sight as a backup if I use quick detach rings on the scout mount. I'm guessing they are going to use the factory rear sight slot and the forward scope ring base as mounting locations for the scout base which should leave the rear factory scope base open so I can install the backup peep sight.
thats the exact setup that im going for! From the way they explained it, that shouldnt be a problem. Im waiting to buy the rear sight until after i get the mount in to see how high the actual mount will sit.. Either way, i cant wait.. should be around February.
*****
I have the rear NECG peep sight already, but I haven't installed it yet because I want to keep a scope on the gun so getting this new scout mount will fix that problem. I heard you need to get the taller front " CZ Patridge Sight " that can be filed down because the other front sights they make aren't tall enough.
Prepare2Survive interesting.. never heard of this.. maybe its just for the 223 version, since the 7.62x39 barrel is bigger, placing the sight higher..
*****
The guy that told me I needed that extra tall front sight also had the 7.62x39 version.
Prepare2Survive interesting.. guess i have some investigating to do..
Very useful video. Thank you so much.
Where did you get your adjustable check rest ?
I need one of those. I don’t even know if that’s what it called

thanks for the reassembly info. putting the mag in seemed counterintuitive to me.
Just got this (in 7.63x39) as my first centerfire rifle. Out of the box, even the regular trigger has zero pre-travel, so it feels just like the set trigger just slightly heavier pull. I'd like to dial in some pre-travel and increase the pull weight slightly. However, when I got it apart, none of the set screws have a slot in the end for the screwdriver, as yours appear to have. How do I turn the set screws if there is no slot to seat the screwdriver?
only the screws that have locking nuts are slotted. the other two take a 1/16 hex Allen wrench.
Excellent vid. Thanks for the tips!
Great video ! Now I need to go adjust mine a little.
thanks for watching!
I need the Mag Spring, help plz
Excellent video, clear and precise instructions.
pistooli1 thank you!
I have a question. After you use the set trigger, is it safe to rack the round out of the chamber if you determine you do not have a shot at the deer anymore.
Or will a gun fire upon you racking a bolt after using the set trigger?
If set trigger is activated you activate the safety and then pull the trigger while pointing in a safe direction
How the heck do you get the mag release back in there?
watch at 12:59 my friend :)
@@ZRUSOutdoorsChannel how the heck did i miss that. Sorry thanks for the heads up. I finally got mine, had to cuss it a little but I got it. Should have put it in with the magazine. Thanks for the tips and help
@@21McLain21 anytime, man!
Interesting. I did not know you could do that. The set trigger on my 527 is so light, 1 lb 7 oz, I don’t think I’ve ever wanted anything lighter. The main trigger is 3 lbs and really has no travel. Looks about like yours does after your adjustment.
nice, you got lucky, mine was good, but i like it the way it is now!
REALLY helpful, thank you.
Thank you for the info on this GREAT RIFLE. I LOVE MINE. FUN AND CHEAP TO SHOOT. It is very EASY on my shoulder which is what I REALLY LOVE about it. I've had a post WWll commercial FN Mauser and a Husqvarna rifle with a FN receiver both were NICE MAUSERS BUT in 30-06. They were not FUN TO SHOOT, I'm getting old (68) and I feel I'm being PUNISHED instead of ENJOYABLE. SHOOTING SHOULDN'T BE CONSIDERED as a TASK. THAT'S WHY I HAVE MORE 22LRs than anything else in my collection. I shoot my TOYS not just LOOK at them. I've killed LOTS OF PAPER practicing my skills with a WEAPON in case (HEAVEN FORBID) I REALLY NEED ONE OF THEM FOR PROTECTION.😁😎
Hello!
I have a 527 7,62x39. Most of the times, when set the "hair" trigger, i pull the trigger and it comes to "pre-set" position, and rifle don't fires. Do you know what is wrong and how to set it?Many thanks!
you may need to adjust the pre travel screw.. but without seeing it in person, that is just my best guess.
Great Video, helped a lot!
Thanks for the video. Very good
thank you!
Np. Just picked up a cz sonoran. In 270 win. It has a set trigger but seems pointless the normal trigger (not set) has exactly the same pull as the set trigger. But the barrel is free floating in this limited model. Plan on getting a 550 but I like the bottom feed of the 527 thinking if I had a choice, would be the 550 in a manners stock. But the walnut is superb. So many to choose from 😂
@@godwetrust1436 lol i know the struggle
Thank you that helped :)
You're welcome!
What torque do you use on the two frame screws?
the German measurement, "goodntight"
Can i use 5.56mm NATO ammo on my CZ 527 Varmint 223? Or should i only stick using .223 Rem to be safe and avoid damage? I need your advice.
Champ what's the latest with that scout mount?? we're eagerly waiting for the your review here in Australia..
Hello. How much pressure screws need to be atacched the action to stock? Thanks in advance.
not sure on that, i just use German untis of Gudandtight
25 in/lbs for wood stock
Outstanding video! Thanks!
Glad you liked it!
Great info thanks. Any news on the scout scope project its august 2017.
?..
They are in the process of finishing the rail after a big delay from a couple of contributing factors. Hoping to have it withing the next month or so.
Do you have a video how to oil and maintenance cleaning it. I think it’ll be a good video o publish.
I do not, but it is very simplistic. The barrel is treated as any other - (bore brush- solvent-wipe-oil) as for the bolt, I run automotive lithium grease. The container of grease will last you the life of the rifle and will create a nice smooth feel to the bolt.
Gr8 video & gr8 rifle (I have 2 of them). Thanks for posting this.
Very informative. I just purchased a 527 carbine, have you had any long term issues?
I have not experienced anything other than the cracked stock which CZ remedied very quickly.
Great video thanks man
no problem, thank you!
Great information thanks for the video!
no problem!
Nice Rifle. would love to have one as an open sighted hunting rifle.
i had to put a drop of testors neon orange to be able to see that little sight up front, but it would be perfect for 100yards!
Cool. Ive looked at one not too long ago. And liked it.
Hey ZRUS,good to here from. What are the wrench sizes for the lock nut's on set screws?
I totally forgot to note the size haha, I just grabbed the one that fit, sorry man!
Only awe shucks on an excellent info vid, kept um coming.Thanks.
T Howe will do!
ZRUS Outdoors Channel great vid! could you do an action disassembly vid?
Shooter Blaze Are you referring to disassembly of the bolt itself ??
Awesome vid I look forward to the scout mound vid:) also Just wondering is there a vid on how to disassemble the bolt?
Thanks man! I havnt made a video on that yet.. but there might be one floating around..
ZRUS Outdoors Channel
Yeah I found one on YT but it was from 2 years ago and video quality is not the greatest but I got the general idea I was looking for a more detailed vid but hey that's a great idea for a new vid:)
might get around to that .. thanx!
hey ,howz it goin? I have the same carbine, cz527, 7.62x39, I don't have a scope on it yet, but, in a couple months it'll have a fixed power scope put on it, the trigger is great, I wouldn't change it at all, but that's just my preference. shakyjake out!
Hey Jake, thanx for stopping by! Its a great rifle, and a lot of fun to shoot all day!
So did you drill holes in the stock for the cheek rest?
yes i did, I have a scout mount coming in soon. It will really help with the cheek weld.
hey mate i got the 223 version of this gun and the bolt is really shit to cycle was your one in need of any work or does it get nicer over time?
Sir Spartan I noticed it was a bit clunky, so I put some thick general purpose lithium grease on it, that really smoothed it up
Excellent tutorial!
thank you!
What's that shotgun belt in the back? Where did you get it?
got it from a antique store..
outstanding video, thank you!
thank you!
Great video!
thanx man!
Im all set now🙃🙃
Good video. Thanks. I have a question. On my CZ 527, on an empty chamber, I cannot open the bolt without squeezing the trigger and operating the bolt at the same time. Something is stopping me from opening the bolt.
After I open the bolt as above, load and fire a round, the bolt will then operate normally and chamber the next round. It is only when I try to operate the bolt the first time without having fired a round that the bolt will not open. I had been dry firing using the set trigger and thought that the trigger must have lost some adjustment. I have hesitated to mess with the trigger.
So, do you think an adjustment might remedy this situation? And can you suggest what I should try.
Thanks.
Without actually looking at it i can only guess.. for some reason i want to say it might have something to do with the safety.. However, it is really easy to adjust the trigger. The easiest way to possibly see whats going on in there is to simply take rifle out of the stock and repeat the problem while you can see everything.. Best thing to do is to email or call CZ, they will take care of you.
Thanks. I was thinking it might be the safety.
I did email CZ explaining the problem in more detail than above. I could only open the bolt while squeezing the trigger. After opening the bolt and loading and firing a round the rifle operated normally. CZ offered to give me a shipping label to send the rifle to them.
However, I took the rifle out of the stock to see if I could determine what was wrong. I saw that when I squeezed the trigger dryfiringr, the sear was not pivoting down, as shown in your video on the break. The top of the trigger (the trigger extension ?) moved under the sear and this was blocking opening the bolt. When I squeezed the trigger that would move the trigger extension away from the sear and then I could operate the bolt. I made slight adjustment to the take up and the main trigger. I applied some Kroil to the pivot point on the sear. Works fine now.
So, the sear was frozen. There was enough jolt from firing a round that the sear would operate normally when firing.
I would not have figured this out without your video. Thanks for posting.
awesome man, glad you figured it out, and yeah, CZ will make it happen for ya!
Thanks !
🌮 one taco for you!

sweet shooter..:)
yes it is! You would love it!
You should really buy a good set of gunsmith screwdrivers to do this stuff. Screwdrivers like you are using cause so many buggered up screw heads that I see on guns being offered for sale.
yeah, i know, its out of sight, out of mind, until i have to work on a firearm.

Thank You for the informative video- but personally, for me- way too much creep.
CZ makes great firearms. However, this rifle is way to short. like 4in to short shouldering it
