all of the criticisms are warranted but cyberpunk used lots of the features of the controller and made it feel pretty immersive as it was intended also, the Wii U did exist fight me
This game has some of the most satisfying level design I've ever encountered. It absolutely stacks up against Nintendo's best, with every corner having something for you to interact with. There were so many times i was trying to push the boundaries of the levels, and just when i thought I'd finally escaped the level design, a big coin appeared in front of me. It's like they were saying "oh man, you really worked to enjoy our level, didn't you? Here's a reward!"
0:36 This is exactly how I felt about Outer Wilds when I played it… It’s just a magical feeling of finally getting in touch with how you felt as a kid enjoying video games again. It’s emotional in its own way. Like you’ve longed for that feeling for years and years but came to have closure with the fact that fames just aren’t how they felt before because you understand them on a fundamental level now. You can see through what the game is in most cases, fantastic games AND bad ones. But Outer Wilds was so different. I had no idea what to expect. And it’s not that the games story got me in my emotions, but the fact that the game can do that simply by being original, and wondrous. It’s the reason most games today aren’t really worth playing anymore. No passion, no creativity, no real reason for them to stand out. You get some hits here and there, but 90% of games today just aren’t carrying anything worth investing in.
I absolutely loved Astro Bot! It’s one of the few recent games that genuinely put a smile on my face while I was playing it. Everything about it is so well put together, it’s challenging enough but not too difficult that my kids can’t play it. I have one request for them. I need them to make a real version of the graffiti controller, it’s such an awesome design!
So glad i just got this. I love how they put so much effort into making everything so satisfying to interact with. Like a toy with a ton of physics objects. This is what i love about games! They use the controller so well too. We need more of this!
I loved dying lights use of the ps4's touch pad. Being able to scroll through the crafting menu was so nice. And Killzone 2's use of the ps3 Sixaxis gyro controls for precise sniping was a lot of fun! I love these little innovative features that give a little charm or a juicy chunk of quality of life

9:04 This kind of exists already in Smash Ultimate. The World of Light campaign isn't a platformer, but it does have you going around saving every other fighter from imprisonment as Kirby... and the DLC fighters if you started late. It also runs on the spirit mechanic, which has literally a thousand references to over a hundred franchises.
9:12 this is a compliment, the wii u is just so good, it broke bounds of reality and literally dipped out of existence, because nothing of such perfectness could exist in a stable fashion

1:30 Nah, Playroom was a tech demo ... It's actually more of a sequel to the VR game Astro Bot Rescue Mission (2018) which has the same exact platforming gameplay style but in VR.
The new game is more like a fleshed out full singleplayer experience of the tech demo that was like a non VR version of the rescue mission. The new game even has the same monkey ability. They took the VR game, made it into a new demo and continued with it to the new game.

Astrobot feels like they just took every single idea the devs had for a month straight, then made it all into one game.
all of the criticisms are warranted but cyberpunk used lots of the features of the controller and made it feel pretty immersive as it was intended
also, the Wii U did exist
fight me
Bro knew it was game of the year
Mario going on a multiversal adventure to save other Nintendo characters? Sounds a awful lot like Subspace Emissary from Super Smash Bros Brawl.
I’m
This game has some of the most satisfying level design I've ever encountered. It absolutely stacks up against Nintendo's best, with every corner having something for you to interact with. There were so many times i was trying to push the boundaries of the levels, and just when i thought I'd finally escaped the level design, a big coin appeared in front of me. It's like they were saying "oh man, you really worked to enjoy our level, didn't you? Here's a reward!"
I think the ice cream incident drove circle to insanity
3:11 i skipped through the sponser and was jumpscared by a digital drone strike
You mean like Smash Ultimate where they travel the universe to rescue all of their friends?
To put it bluntly, a Nintendo game on non-Nintendo hardware. No wonder it's so good.
Haven’t watched your videos in a few years, just rediscovered your channel and i’ve been missing out, this is so good.
What you said about Nintendo land is just criminal. That game is awesome.
By far one of your best videos to date. I love the expressions and delivers. This was such an awesome experience.
9:00 Isn't this the plot for Smash Ultimate? But it's Kirby the one to save all franchises.
Exactly. Also Smash Brawl's Subspace Emmisary
I am pretty sure he means a 2d platformer game not a fighting game
@Scout-wv1sy but smash is also a 2d platformer
@@theunknown8203 well sh-
I went down to the comments to say the exact same thing
So glad i just got this. I love how they put so much effort into making everything so satisfying to interact with. Like a toy with a ton of physics objects. This is what i love about games! They use the controller so well too. We need more of this!
That can't be true for the simple fact that Mario Galaxy exists
It literaly won game of the generation against all ps3 and xbox 360 games
I felt this way about Penny's Big Breakaway... Simple, but a tight, creative, and effective experience
9:05 putting Typhlosion front and Center rn is kinda crazy
It's crazy how people were getting mad over that thing
Almost like it’s a joke making fun of recent events, huh.
I loved dying lights use of the ps4's touch pad. Being able to scroll through the crafting menu was so nice. And Killzone 2's use of the ps3 Sixaxis gyro controls for precise sniping was a lot of fun! I love these little innovative features that give a little charm or a juicy chunk of quality of life
3:33 Circle having a mental breakdown about these features not being used had me dying 😂
I’ve really been loving all ur vids lately circle, ik how time consuming ur style of animation must be so the fact that ur keeping pace with current releases is very commendable, love ur stuff man
"Bloodborne?! So you DO know it exists!!" hits me so hard 😭😭😭😭
8:18 John Yakuza is singing the dame da ne song.
Beautiful.
Sony probably has the most iconic IPs outside of Nintendo, but they also sit on their IPs worse than Nintendo
Alternative title : someone other than Nintendo made a good and original game and everyone is losing their mind
9:12 this is a compliment, the wii u is just so good, it broke bounds of reality and literally dipped out of existence, because nothing of such perfectness could exist in a stable fashion
8:19 the wombo ai on the john yakuzer bot 😭
At 9:13 that line sounded like professional voice acting that sounded pleasant.
He predicted GotY
Haven't seen a video since the board game. He matured alot and got much closer to the edge of "doing something that can't be undone".
I really like this stlye.
1:30 Nah, Playroom was a tech demo ... It's actually more of a sequel to the VR game Astro Bot Rescue Mission (2018) which has the same exact platforming gameplay style but in VR.
I wish people would acknowledge Rescue Mission more! It was such an awesome platformer that started a lot of the ideas found in the new game
The new game is more like a fleshed out full singleplayer experience of the tech demo that was like a non VR version of the rescue mission. The new game even has the same monkey ability.
They took the VR game, made it into a new demo and continued with it to the new game.
6:39 seeing a cheeseslime like this made my day
Astro bot is amazing don't get me wrong but saying that it's the best Mario game um I don't think so I prefer the way to describe astro bot as the perfect game to play while waiting for the next 3D Mario. Astro bot is still my game of the year tho
I feel like the line delivery was especially excellent this episode, thanks for all the effort you put in :>
R.I.P sackboy
2008-2023
No more funny sack guy :(
Never heard of this game and not going to play it, but the video is brilliant. Loved all the Sony and Nintendo characters moving around. Just awesome work
7:18
It already happened buddy. Don't worry. :)
NOOŏOọoOŌOOOŒƆغ-
Astro Bot was great! But its very simple compared to Mario. U only have like 4 actions.. jump, hover, punch and spinpunch.. thats it. Its an easy and accessible platformer and thats great. But it also heavily copies from other games, which it does good, dont get me wrong. I just think that it could do more than just that. We definetily need a sequel tho.
Y’all what happened to littlebigplanet😢
I know it's so sad 😢!
Astrobot reminded me just how awesome casino levels in videogames were.
Video Game please start putting casino gambling levels back in games if you want to save your industry
8:55 He's... He's doing a bit right? Smash Bros. Brawl? You even have the smash bros cast in the background
9:00 Has this guy never heard of Subspace Emissary?
Idk how you can say they didn't take HEAVY inspiration from Mario (specifixally Galaxy), but the game looks dope. I'm not buying a PS5 just to play it tho.
Literaly a mix of all 3d marios
And yoshis wolly world
That you gather yoshis dressed as notorious nintendo characters
8:59 subspace emissary is like:
OOOOK i dont exist!
8:18 "Dame da ne Dame yo dame na no yo Anta ga suki de sukisugite!
Dore dake tsuyoi osake demo
Yugamanai omoide ga baka mitai..."
(Sidenote: that's a fcking amazing detail, not unlike the rest of this video👍 tiny little things here and there are very fitting in an Astro bot vid❤)
RIGHT i was hoping someone else saw this
