that "shady stuff" was outright proven to be fabricated by someone with an agenda against palworld, and it would be good to idea to stop perpetuating that "they copied the models" hoax. the person who created that "evidence" admitted to altering the models to try and force them to match when they don't. the person in question specifically hated the violent themes in the game and was trying to hurt it
6:35 Beakon is literally corvknight. Sushi is just Gleam from yokai watch. Theres the kyrin looking one that is identical to kyryn/unikyryn from yokai watch 2.
Cut to months later and Palworld has released several updates. Several QoL updates, a raid boss, items, remolded some pals and have planed an even bigger update for the summer. They really seem to be in this game for the long haul and I look forward to it. They will finish this game.
Pocket Pair to me seems like a game studio that has no veteran talent and just wants to break out big without the requisite knowledge to do so. All of their previous games very heavily lean on other more popular games and are all relatively simple in design (often using pre-made assets from the Unreal store). So when they started on Palworld and initially released the trailer back in Xbox's indie showcase a few years back and it got a lot of eyeballs (similar to Cuphead's story) suddenly the studio knew it had to focus on Palworld and make a product people would share and enjoy. The early success led to them being able to hire more senior talent who actually knows what they're doing which is leading to a more competent product. My guess is even if Palworld isn't "the one" to put Pocket Pair on the map, it's a critical stepping stone for them for their next game now that they'll actually have the skilled developer talent to make that project a success and the clout to get a publisher to publish whatever they decide to make.
@@pacmonster066 you say a company with no veteran talent and you would be right, for the most part, they have 1 veteran talent who only joined them part way through developing palworld and was the reason why they moved from unity to unreal (like there's a big note about it the ceo made)
@@MetronaJ The move from Unity to Unreal is what created a lot of the problems with the game though, have you seen the pre-unreal footage? It's like a whole different game! They had the remake a lot of assets and start over with the actual game part when they moved to Unreal, including the world map. The environments shown in the Unity footage just fit the style of the pals better, more Pokémon, less breath of the wild. Also in the move we lost the factories and piece-by-piece building and instead got crafting stations and blue holograms that fill up as it builds. Although with the move they did dodge the bullet of Unity's proposed "charge per installation" bullshit, so that's nice I guess
Whats really amazing about palworld is the fact that pals can actually dodge. In pokemon you have to depend on special items, rare pokemon personalities and odds to guarantee that your opponents move will fail on their turn while in palworld your pals can just step aside when a move comes their way. In pokemon arceus your pokemon can lose half their hp from a single move and a pal will straight up teleport out of the way. Watching my anubis and bushi take on bosses give me goosebumps because they're just so good at dodging incoming attacks. Pokemon could never. I played palworld for 100 hours before i went back to arceus, after taking on a mass outbreak and watch 4 pokemon take turns decimating my empoleon while it just stood there i turned my switch off. I didnt even bother saving.
I mean pokemon is a turn based rpg, being able to dodge like that would be pretty bad for the game. Though if you want dodging like that in pokemon, you can always play pokken.
Don't forget raids. I especially love it when high level invaders come because they also summon their pals to attack your base. It's a clustertruck that I sometimes get lost with all the elements and explosions around me that I won't even be able to do anything because my base pals are just as powerful as my main team lol.
There's also the fact your player is more actively engaged in combat. Not only do you have weapons, but you can recall them into their sphere before they get hit if they can't dodge in time. The fact you're carving out a settlement alongside Pals; it mechanically is what Arceus tries to tell you it is. It's a game where you aren't simply wielding Pokemon, but living alongside them.
Palworld is more similar to Ark than Pokémon. The difference being the fact that you can tame every Pal relatively easily while Ark requires a 23 step process for one dino
that's why I prefer Palworld over Ark. I don't have to spend 72 hours feeding drugs to a high level creature just for a random Rex spawn to eat it at the finish line lol
@@StygianIkazuchi Things get complicated in Palword when you want to have a perfect Pal, you need a lot of breeding, a lot, when they complete the game many will find out when they want to compete in PVP.
@@XeninMaki See, that's why I don't bother with competitive PVP or perfect stats in online games of this nature. I don't find those grinds fun so I skip them.
@@StygianIkazuchiAlthough most of us turn up taming effectiveness just because Ark’s base expectations for how much time/patience we have for watching a sleeping dinosaur are way too high.
Honestly design wise a lot of the Palworld creatures actually reminded more of how a lot of Kirby characters are designed, especially on how a lot of the little guys will have stubby arms and legs, and how in general most of them have a rather rounded feel to them. (Lamball looks like a woolly Waddle Dee to me, which make them even more cute IMO.)
Kirby was originally a placeholder for a character they were going to design later, but the developers decided that they liked him, so they kept him like that.
And that little candle creature literally looks like a Kirby character to me. Like if I saw those in a Kirby game, they would not feel out of place at all.
@@MegaMegajennifer it was gonna be another mario-human like character but masahiru couldn't decide on the character and shigeru miyamoto thought the "place holder" was cute and it worked so they made Kirby the mc
The best addition Palworld added was if the item is in your base you can use it to craft. No more digging inside of 50 chests to find loose nails I can just use a workbench
1:11 That person who made the original tweet talking about how they plagiarized the models admitted that they fabricated the evidence. Their excuse was that Palworld "promoted animal abuse," which to me is one of the funniest things to hear coming from a Pokemon fan lol. I wouldn't say Palworld "promotes" animal abuse so much as it's just much more honest with its theming than Pokemon is.
@@StygianIkazuchiyeah they claim it's a fake account because they don't want to believe that they were fake so they said its a different person who said they were fake
@@StygianIkazuchiwasn’t the claims they faked it just that they matched the models sizes? I might have missed something but still leaves a lot of things extremely sus, especially the primirina and serperior fusion.
What is there to talk about? The game has been out for 5 months now and it's still in early access They dropped the April Fools trailer last month (you know, the dating simulator one), and people have been talking about it for weeks. Just recently, they announced a new island and PVP
Palworld devs did not rip off any fakemon artists. The example used of the mega Delphox art, was actually posted after the Palworld Pal appeared in a trailer for the first time.
The same happened for pokemon. The artist specifically said that they were joking about pokemon stealing their idea for palafin. The pepper design shouldn't have even been discussed because a pepper pokemon being fire grass is so ridiculously easy of a concept to make that saying they copied it
I like how the little water guy that was watering the crops for the ENTIRE video near the end looked over like "why are you making me water these crops for so long they don't need this much water"
yeah, i dont get that game mechanic either. having little water and grass type critters help with gardening sounds fun, like in the final chapter of wooden plank's reviving all the smash fighters arc, but in pokemon brilliant diamond and shining pearl, you just water the little berry tree seeds till you think "ok, thats enough" and wait about a day for them to grow. sure, the slow process means less berries, but pals probably wouldnt get hungry as often if they didnt have to do so much yard work to provide food for themselves. its a vicious cycle! and theres also vendors who sell food
@@MegaMegajennifer Food goes a far longer way if you cook it into proper meals. Jam sandwiches, salads, pancakes and so on. One of my three bases is only to produce food for them all, but it makes a big surplus.
@@Milkymalk yeah, i like cooking in games too. except in pokemon brilliant diamond. almost impossible to bake a decent poffin. anyway, i meant i can buy ingredients
I know! I actually FEEL like I'm taking care of a living creature. Seriously just give Pokemon animations like Palworld and it would be perfect! I know some people are going to say "But animations for over 1000 Pokemon is to much!" Here's an idea... come out to the fans and LET THEM KNOW this will take time but it will be worth it.
especially as references even in the show, you should be able to eat your pokemon and cook them up. They are essentially the animals of the Pokemon universe, so they should be edible. Like Pals. You can eat them all.
I hate that about say... Legends Arceus... they feel like attack robots in pokemon costumes. You're just hanging out with a wild mon, giving it berries, suddenly a berry bounces off the floor and hits it. Now it goes full murder mode and wants to skin you alive for daring to accidentally hit it with a berry.
@@snivysnake8992 Just do it for a few old Pokemon and the new Dex each generation (especially since modern Pokemon games only feature about 400 Pokemon)... Which they're kind of already doing.
Yeah. Palworld gave me the experience I was looking for with Pokémon and then some. But then again, I don't think Pokémon would ever implement gameplay that would let you fight alongside your Pokémon, so I'm glad Palworld came along...with its assault rifles...and gave me that experience.
You have that in the most recent Yokai Watch, and also Ni no kuni for example. Even Arceus is going in that direction... they could totally do it for Pokemon
@@PetitTasdeBoue whats the title of the yokai watch game? and i think in legends arceus sometimes pokemon fight pokemon and sometimes just humans fight pokemon, depending on which pokemon you're up against
I played pokemon series, and now its feels like a palworld ripoff. Lol. I always think the competitive aspect is a weird part of pokemon. I have no trouble with grinding and doing meta strategy. My problem is that the world is too colorful to be wasted on one final party of one strat. I do wanna catch them all, but pokemon too much IV and EV breeding focussed. Breeding one species too much to get hyper stats. While in palword, this aspect are reduced, while added with base building gameplay and trading that give value to the poor halfbreed pals hatched. Their soul like gameplay (should you choose this difficulty) is also simply a mindblow. Not a japanese RPG with ATK DEF command, but a complete different strategy I can choose in my combat. I can ask pal to battle them, or im battling them myself, or make my pals support me in battle, or both of us battle together with the guns. That combat aspect is just the final nail in the coffin for me. Instead of spamming statbuff moves and sweep my enemy, I can watch my large blingy dinosaur doing salvos of missile launchers. While riding that bad ass dino, dang. Its just what I want from a pokemon game. The colorful world with fitting design of its aspect. The fact that the world is gorgeous in my PC is also a big plus too. As much as I love pokemon, Game Freak need to be introduced to a proper competitor for once in a while.
The only Pal/Poke similarity I disagree with is lucario. It's literally an egyptian Jackal with spikes just because Pokemon made a jackal monster first doesn't mean they 'own' it or others are 'copies'.
I kinda agree and kinda disagree. It’s true they both share the same root concept, that being Anubis, so it’s not really accurate to say one copied the other. On the other hand there’s the point that it might have been chosen specifically because Lucario is so popular. It’s not illegal, I would even say the design is good. I wish they’d done it more as a mage than a fighter but then OG Anubis is a mage and it would have helped differentiate it from Lucario.
Thank you! It seems strange that Circle takes time to point out how the penguins differ, and then falls onto the "Anubis is Lucario" bandwagon later in the vid. The two have 0 shared elements beyond being based on the Egyptian deity. Different eye/head/tail/limb shapes, different silhouettes, different animations, different colours and accessories, literally not a single shared design element! Nintendo doesn't own Egyptian gods just like they don't own blue penguins.
Seriously, Lucario wasn't based on Anubis. Palworld's Anubis feels like a response to that farcical claim, saying "no, if it were based on Anubis it would look like THIS. See how it has basically nothing in common with the Lucario we actually got?"
I wish you own the game and have more to contribute to this conversation, the second power you can capture, it's just Vulpix, the 6th or so guy - Staraptor. Lycanrock appears at night, we have a Dragonite like raid boss. The first boss fight in the game is literally Electabuzz.
1:13 weren't most of these if not all proven to be false/fabricated? You'd think Nintendo of all companies would DESTROY them legally if there was any validity to plagiarism claims.
Yeah but a lot of content creators don't look into it further or ignore it but in this case I think he didn't know that those were proven to be false evidence to frame palworld
11:23 No one ever mentions how useless captured humans are. They have no skills, never use their weapons and can't work at your base. The most you can do with them is sell them to the black market guy (probably not for a whole lot, IDK because I never found him) or if you're particularly sinister, put them on display in a viewing cage.
They can work at your base, just craft shit but still. Also, other than merchants being in your base being a huge deal, all humans are the same, so once you can capture them relatively easy, you can commit a crime and have tons of guards spawning, giving you basically an infinite amount of resources (as long as you have balls to catch them with), and basically create an immortal god. You can also kinda do it with low tier pals, but even those are hard to catch in masses.
Picked up this game yesterday from the steam summer sale. I was like "I'll never play a Pokemon ripoff, what is this? Digimon?" But after playing it for 8 hours first day, it is amazing. 10 years ago I told tons of people "if Pokemon made an MMO where you level your character, and can fight people to catch certain pokemon, it would be a multi-billion dollar individual title bringing in $10 million a month on a subscription easily". This game hit almost all the points.
I mean, the world is designed for it. You have your political party, you have your religion, and it's so socially accepted that no one will countenance disagreement that the polite conclusion is simply not to talk about it. So expect that polite people simply won't talk about whether they play Pokemon or Palworld.

Anubis is based on the Egyptian god ALSO named Anubis, not Lucario. He's as different from Lucario as Pengullet is from Piplup. Look at the accessories and clothing, look at the head, arm, leg, WAIST shape even. It's basically a "dog-headed human" whereas Lucario is a "dog on two legs"
I don't get why people think that Anubis is a rip-off of lucario. The name is literally taken directly from egyptian mythology. Just like with the sheep, there are only so many ways that you can reinterpet from the same source material. If anything, Palworld is sticking closer to the source material.
I'll never understand how people think it's a complete ripoff of Pokemon. Some of them are pretty blatant, but SO many of them are unique and interesting that it's genuinely outperforming Game Freak in many ways. Nintendo fanboys are worse than Disney Adults.
@@dbomb8825 They showed a lot of footage of guns in the trailer despite it taking at least 20 hours to get one. Furthermore, the Pals they show in the trailer were all ones that highly resembles Pokemon.
The main campaigns can *usually* be beaten this way… although even some of the Elite Fours and champions of some generations will kind of throw a wrench into that. The post games usually have content that will screw you if you played this way though. And then with Scarlet/Violet now, you’re gonna have a bad time with the somewhat challenging double battles that make up the second part of the DLC campaign if you played like that until then (so in a sense, you’ll have a rough time actually finishing the story as it’s defined at that point, if you can beat that at all) and you’re SOL for raids. Finally, every game since the 3DS has made the EXP share, on either by default or even recently made so you can’t even turn it off, set up so you kinda have to go out of your way not to have some semblance of a team at this point. This comment seems more based on cliches and memories of the older games than how the series has actually worked since the days of the 3DS and onwards.
Areas have certain levels they are balanced for, that's why in nuzlocke runs they have level caps so you can't steamroll through level advantage alone.
It had an incredible amount of bugs when it was released, but currently they have solved quite a few bugs, it is no longer so easy to find bugs, the development team has been gaining my trust.
But it still has a horrible issues with hosting a world to play on with your friends on Xbox s at least. Try to enter a dungeon crash, try to go further and uploading in a part of the map that hasn't been loaded in yet this session crash oh you made it to the boss room of the dungeon crash

@@Abedeuss My favorite was the person who tried to claim that palword stole their design only for people to point out that the design that they supposedly "stole" was revealed in an early trailer before the guy released his design.
When they say that you have no control over the Pal, but in reality you can control if your partner attacks everything around him, if he only attacks the one you decide to attack or if he simply does not attack anyone. And not only that, by playing with the order of the attacks and their cooldown times you can organize your strategy so that it attacks the way you want, although not necessarily in the exact time you expect, unless you use a Pal of mount, in that case you can control everything.
There's a key difference between palworld and pokemon that makes them immune from lawsuits. An integral part of the pokemon franchise is that the games are bad, something palworld did not integrate
based on a Egyptian god anubis who was a man with a dog head the only similarity is that its a dog furry that knows how to punch things it's a big stretch in my opinion
Yeah, just because Pokèmon called first dibs doesn't mean that they signed an exclusivity agreement with the ancient Egyptians to have the sole spin off of their Anubis character. Honestly bad take for Circle for not knowing where Pokèmon ripped off theirs.
This game is honestly an example of how a parody can stand on its own from the work that it’s a parody of. It’s the relationship between Spaceballs and Star Wars, Space King and Warhammer, etc. Definitely gonna check this game out. (When it becomes full access)
Palworld is what I imagined Arceus to be but never became. War being a bunch of pals fighting against other pals, capturing humans(Dorkly basically doing this), sell them to black marketers since their worth more and me butchering a pal for having too many negative stats putting their use for something else. 10/10.
One of the best moments I’ve had in Palworld was when a Mammorest wandered into my base and I accidentally shot at it once and then seeing my entire horde of 12 pals completely unload into this beast that was 10 levels above them for 5 minutes. I think what was also makes Palworld’s world less empty is there is actual reason to catch more of the same type of Pal. Either by giving more exp for each capture which helps you level up or by having efficient pals work in the camp. That was kinda my problem with LA where as soon as I caught most mons there really wasn’t much incentive to catch like 10 more
13:48 One really good early access game is Core Keeper. By the time you see this, its probably fully released considering that its only a few weeks away, but if somebody showed this game to me before I new about it, I would have thought that it was close to it's final update. The amount of content this pre-1.0 game has is mind-blowing. And the best part is that it's enjoyable to go back to places where the enemies could one-shot you and just tank every hit. On the surface it seems a bit repetative but with how unique the bosses are it, it feels like a totally new experience every time you fight another boss. My only complaint about it is that it has way too many crafting stations. 9/10 I'd recomend you to try it.

Exactly. Most of the discourse surrounding these games inevitably gets tied up in a bunch of made up, engagement-bait even if it’s not the intention… because we’re ultimately all reacting to the made up idea that this game is an outright replacement for Pokemon… when it’s not. It’s a completely different kind of game, inspired by the overall Pokemon concept that also satirizes it.

7:20 This one just makes me angry when people bring it up. Is fucking Anubis you don't get to call every Anubis creature a rip off of Lucario. Are you going to go to Egypt and declare copyright over the god's damned hieroglyphs?
I got into Palworld because some psycho pokemon fan sent me a jihadi beheading video, because I didn't agree with them on twitter about Palworld being AI generated. i didn't even say they're wrong, i just said "hey can do you have a source?". They sent me a video where the first frame is something like "proof Palworld used AI" and it immediately hard cuts to the beheading. I went from "I mean I'm not into pokemon so I'm not interested in pokemon-lite" to "yeah screw pokemon, all of you are psychopaths, I'm playing Palworld out of spite". Surprise surprise, Palworld is genuinely a good game and I enjoy it despite not being into monster catching games. I'm not into survival crafting games either, but man Palworld does a great job at making me enjoy it.
As someone who just likes Pokemon because haha funny creatures, that is extremely messed up. Doesn't really matter who's into what at that point, sorry someone would do that to you.
Something to note, the claim that palworld plagiarized was 100% false. The person who made that accusation admitted that they fabricated the whole thing and they did it because they thought palworld encouraged animal abuse.
Where did it proven he was false? All I heard is that he scaled the models for better comparison. If you have a tweet that compares the Pals actual model than go ahead
There is still *some* rocky edge cases, though. For example, Azurobe's model bears an incredibly striking resemblance to Prismarina; the hair is so similar, it wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that, at the very least, whoever designed Azurobe was directly looking at Prismarina when making it... especially when you consider the color scheme (plus the pink of Azurobe's tail being a match for Popplio's nose). In addition, while serpent-like body types will almost always be similar, adjusting the bones of Azurobe's model so the lengths match with Serperior shows nearly identical vector rings. The odds of this happening by accident are *nearly zero*, and it's much more likely that someone started with a Serperior model and adapted it into something else; perhaps using the rings for scaling, adjusting them how they wanted, and then re-making the model from there (as the Azurobe model does have more polygons). That said, Nintendo has always been super hardcore about copyright and plaigarism, and if there was a leg to stand on in Japanese court, we wouldn't have a Palworld, so it's probably transformative enough.
To catch up. Pokemon is now suing palworld. Not based on pal designs no. It's game mechanics. They're going after fucking game mechanics! Cause apparently; walking with your pal outside of its carrier, having them pick up items, being able to send to to auto battle is not allowed.
Really shows how dated the script and the lack of research was put in cause of it. It's like he had a beef with someone and took it out on this studio instead of who he wanted to take it out on
Well kt's obvious they did at the very least do some tracing, but that's about it... some will say it's scummy but it's not illegal to trace specific elements.
I highly doubt this game will be abandoned by the devs anytime soon. You can tell that there's passion put into this game, based on how deep it is. That said, this might also force GameFreak to improve pokemon games as a whole, considering they now have actual competition in the monster catching genre. A worthy opponent one could say.
Thing is they're not actually competition though. While they both feature monster catching, the core gameplay is way too different for them to actually compete with each other. They might have some positive influence on each other, but they're certainly not competitors.

While BG3 was a recent success, they're still far from mainstream. Honestly, I don't like turn based battles. It takes me out of the action.
@@triadwarfare Eh, Monster Taming is a niche genre, so most devs in the space are pretty small, with the obvious exception being the two-hundred pound gorilla that is pokemon. There are some real-time games, but they're few and far between, and a steam search on the awful "creature collector" tag tells me that a lot of them are on the weaker end of the spectrum. If you're looking for alternatives to traditional mon games, right now I'm keeping my eye on Skyclimbers, which has its public beta coming up this summer(?). It's a real-time adventure/citybuilder with monster taming that's been in the works for about as long as Palworld. I only didn't bring it up in the previous because it's not out and I don't have backer access to it. As an aside, calling turn-based a "dying breed" is quite extreme. Indie sphere is loaded with turn-based darlings that do well for themselves, BG3's recent success is a culmination of a soft revival of the CRPG genre, and Persona 3 remake and SMT5 are doing well for themselves. That doesn't point to a dying supergenre. It's not the top of the charts, but hits and success stories do not a "dying breed" make. It's totally understandable if you don't like them, but you don't need to act like they're "dead." A dying breed would be something akin to classic Real-Time Strategy. Outside of Age of Empires 4, there's really not a lot of new blood entering the scene to revitalize it. Most people who play stick to some old titles, fan mods and free games like Mental Omega and Zero-K, or the hopes and prayers of small AA studios that are trying their best. Big hits are rare or remakes, and releases in the market can feel like a few times a year.

@@elyrienvalkyr8167Shouldn't really expect AAA from an indie company lol

It's a clustertruck that I sometimes get lost with all the elements and explosions around me that I won't even be able to do anything because my base pals are just as powerful as my main team lol.
sans
There's also the fact your player is more actively engaged in combat. Not only do you have weapons, but you can recall them into their sphere before they get hit if they can't dodge in time. The fact you're carving out a settlement alongside Pals; it mechanically is what Arceus tries to tell you it is. It's a game where you aren't simply wielding Pokemon, but living alongside them.
Palworld is more similar to Ark than Pokémon. The difference being the fact that you can tame every Pal relatively easily while Ark requires a 23 step process for one dino

@@cathygrandstaff1957 That's more on the [animation] and [move list] side of the design.
See how it has basically nothing in common with the Lucario we actually got?"

you can butcher them to get the loot a second time.
Yeah, it was really disappointing. You’d think they’d be able to do anything you can do.
Capture merchants so you can pop them out whenever you need ressources without having to travel anywhere is the play with them.

The main campaigns can *usually* be beaten this way… although even some of the Elite Fours and champions of some generations will kind of throw a wrench into that. The post games usually have content that will screw you if you played this way though.

I made this comment before 2:30 where he says exactly this so i may be just another world's version of CircleToons that somehow switched realities.
The timing of this script almost released after the games first huge update which is coming in a few weeks later in June, after many updates to fix all the bugs that we been reporting :D
The games come a long way since release and Soon as that update drops i'll be back into it after the break i've had. Been waiting for more content and it will be here soon!
Also I did love the salty Nintendo Fanboy comments pretending Nintendo owns the rights to all animals and cartoon animals that exist in both real life and fantasy. Somehow.
Like Anubis, which is modelled after freaking Anubis but yet somehow is Lucario
Loved the elephant turning around at 15:58 when circle says "good working conditions"
Palworld is so far off from the pokemon gameplay I don’t think they’d affect each other too much.
You know how you can tell it's not pokemons gameplay?
Pokemon actually has gameplay. You have next to no control over your mentally challenged legally distinct knock offs in Palworld. Even assigning them jobs causes their 2 brain cells to collapse.

Typical Twitter response 😂
Something to note, the claim that palworld plagiarized was 100% false. The person who made that accusation admitted that they fabricated the whole thing and they did it because they thought palworld encouraged animal abuse.
Yes, the guy falsified the character models to make them fit, but the lie was repeated so much that there are still people who believe it.
Where did it proven he was false? All I heard is that he scaled the models for better comparison. If you have a tweet that compares the Pals actual model than go ahead
@@XeninMakiThe absolute irony of this comment
Is it also false that palworld used ai to generate ‘Pokémon like’ models?
The devs didnt do shady weird shit with the models, that was already disproved
Artists try to not claim plagiarism challenge (impossible)
I can't believe this still needs to be said when the person spreading the false info was caught like months ago.
There is no passion in this game dog I hate to tell it to you

To give credit, a lot of the changes or combinations of Pokemon to create Pal designs are creative development of the concepts that made more sense, I mean the canonical rabbit has a flaming soccer ball. The fire fox looks almost like the male counterpart to Nintendo's design, in a weird way the design language makes it feel like a different part of the same world, as though these creatures coevolved or coexisted much as they do in the real world

@@0freeicecream956maybe people equate good "monster taming" games to be turn based, hence the bias.
Turn based games are a dying breed and is no longer mainstream for a very long time.
It's totally understandable if you don't like them, but you don't need to act like they're "dead."
A dying breed would be something akin to classic Real-Time Strategy.
@@0freeicecream956 The Digimon World DS games are good. I hear Persona has a similar combat system, and it almost counts.
