    People always make such horrible comments to me about “how could you own that animal?” “How much land?” Excuse me I would take my mal on multiple walks a day. She would keep me in shape. What’s wrong with trying to better yourself?

      I experience the same since years - also for Malis and Dutchies is the most important thing to have a good bond with you and to be integrated in your life and daily routine, to really be respected as a family/team member
      Their exceptional intelligence offers a lot of individual ways for that, more than the most other breeds - we need only to be open for it and not train them only out of a textbook
      Best wishes for you and your dog 🙏

    You can tell Whiskey is one Super Smart dog! Such an enthusiastic (big) lug!
    We raised retrievers and love Mals, but it looks like you'll have to stay three steps ahead of him coming up with work to do!
    I notice how you still hand feed him in these vids- might be a good topic for a video as to why you continue to hand-feed as long as possible. ....
    Also on the eggs- are they just for treats or are they necessary for Mals nutrition wise?
    Good luck with the channel. Hope it helps with feeding them!

    Thank you for a great video showing really what it is like to have a Mal. I also have 2 and sometimes a 3rd as a foster. Everything is a training opportunity, be consistent day in and day out with your expectations, adjust for the individual dogs needs and temperament, and last but not least have a sense of humor cause they are goofballs that will do something weird just cause they can. They are great dogs, just not always the easiest.

Except that my labs really could be handled by someone without much experience as far as their temperaments go. However, the activity level they require is HIGH!!!!! They're meant to go all day as field retrievers.

      @neucounty Рік тому

      Unfortunately there’s no tag on Freedoms vest. My friend actually gifted me that vest when I got the dogs. I believe they just ordered it off Amazon. My advice would be…consistency is key with a Malinois. Time is everything. They need a good two years to learn every behavior you like and don’t like. Mental exercise will tire them way faster then physical. Buy from a breeder that has the dog personality your looking for. So if your looking for service work don’t buy from a competition breeder. They turn out to be exactly how you raise them. So put in the time! Don’t allow any cute puppy behavior that your not going to like when they are full grown monsters! Enjoy, have fun, love love love!!!

    Hey there, really nice and interesting video. You have 2 amazing dogs there, i guess it took a lot of time and work.
    Why does one of em gets his food per hand? I hope i did not miss the information in the video, but if so, i am sorry.
    Just curious btw. cause i did it with my rescue dog in the beginning hoping we would built faster and better bond. Now i wanted to know if there are more reasons maybe to do it? Im still kinda new to having a dog.

      Thank you ! It has been a TON of work but totally worth every second. I hand feed all my dogs to start. Whiskey still gets hand fed at two years old because he’s a very dominant dog. I want him to understand he only eats if it comes from my hand. Helps keep him gentle. Plus we use feeding time to teach new things. It truly helps build the bond and relationship. I will feed Whiskey by hand twice a day for the rest of his life! Feeding by hand is the best way to go with a dog like whiskey.

    Subbed... can't wait to pick up my girl. I've waited 4 years to get another dog after keeping Akita's. I've got a black fawn Belgian malinois coming in December. I'll be watching your video for tips. Any advice to start training when I first pick her up? Thanks for sharing too.

    • @neucounty
      @neucounty Рік тому +2

      Congrats on the puppy!!! Exciting!
      Wow…Akitas!!! Your going to love your Mal. Start training the day you pick her up…also build bond. Show love but don’t allow any behavior you don’t want when she’s full grown. Consistency is KEY! Most important enjoy your pup and the work your going to put in.

      @Neu County Thank-you I can't wait! Yes I'm gonna start training her straight away, I want a family dog buy also a deterent for any would be burglars around lol. Thanks for the videos.. I'm working my way threw them !

      Just having a Malinois is a deterrent to any people with bad intentions lol I think my favorite thing about them is non social they are. They are so devoted to the family they just simply don’t care about other people. You’ll understand when your pup hits about 8 months old. Such great dogs if you put in the work (even on your sick days). I would love to make more videos on how I trained my dogs….I freeze on camera so I’ve mainly posted entertainment videos but I’m working on my confidence with being on camera. Thanks for subbing and always here if you have questions! Always take content ideas too!

      @@neucounty iv taken things from your videos already so they are definitely a bit more than just entertainment 🙂 and you wouldn't think you are nervous behind camara , you seem fine... I'd love to hear how you went about training your dogs. Iv watched enough videos to know where to start, I have lots of space in my fenced off garden so I have a safe place to start training. I'm really looking forward to a companion, iv waited so long until the time was right as we had just had a baby 4 years ago. I was quite upset when my dogs died of old age back in late 2017 early 18.. and i swore mever to comit again but lifes too short... i genuinly can't wait now ! Thanks again .

      Thank you for the kind words. I’m excited for you! 4-5 years is a long time to wait and also a very good decision! You are going to have your hands full juggling toddler and puppy! Teach both the child and the puppy how to respect each other and they will be friends for life!

    Need to give dogs' diet on Collgen. All chewy tendons good for their joints. Need to give them Calcium from (cooked) bones. Easy way is to use Pressure Cooker. Cook Chicken Feet, Pig Feet or Goat fee inside Pressure Cooker.. Lots of collagen, low fat. Cook few minutes only, all bones becomes Soft, dog can it all, no worry infected with parasites (worms) from raw meat or raw bones. Fish bones also becomes soft in pressure cooker. Chicken Liver, also v good for dog's Eyes, lots of Iron, makes dog brain become more clever/smart. Liver contain lots of Minerals, Vitamins. When Lion kill their prey, lion eat their Liver first. Giblets also good, chkn Gizzard, heart, liver, contain lots of Phosphorus, Iron & Zinc. Liver is a must for dog diet.
