There are many protein sources which are cheap, and can give 50-60 gm protein every day, Soya chunks 30gms - 15 gm protein - ₹7, Eggs - 2 - 12 gm protein - ₹12, Milk - 200 ml - 6 gm protein - ₹15 Peanuts - 30gms - 7 gm protein - ₹7 Toor dal - 30gms - 5 gm protein - ₹10 There is also Chana, Rajma, Moong etc. If you are non-veg, daily consuming 100-200gm chicken costs ₹50 ang gives enough protein for the day. We can get daily min. needed protein for ₹50 easily.

I suppose they are old people who know nothing about whey. Just ask them how whey is made. I suppose you already know how it's made and what's used in it. It's similar to paneer. Ask them, if they think same about Dairy products.
Do you workout plenty? If not then your kidneys will get damaged due to excess protein in your body that is if you eat plentiful as well. The required daily protein amount for a person is just a bare 0.8 g/Kg of bodyweight. So, let's say if you weigh 50 kg. You'll require just 40g of protein. If you eat 4 paranthas at lunch, and 4 at dinner, you'll get your 40g without even eating anything else. Edit: Take this information seriously if you're below 70 kgs in bodyweight. The main point is if you eat protein in excess, you'll gain nothing from it, the protein will be excreted out. Therefore, first calculate your average daily protein intake, and whether you do strenuous exercise or not, and then you can happily add whey protein in your diet if you find the need. I, myself, take whey protein with 24 g in 1 scoop.
I think you all should be educated first and have to check out how much protein is in Chapati only. How much chapati you ate every day, How much Protein is in Other products like rice, Vegetables and then you should calculate it. According to Doctors, you need 0.8 gram per kilo of your body weight, means if you are 65 kg then you need approx 52g protein. 1 chapati have 3-4 grams protein If you eat 8 chapati including whole day you will get 24-32 grams protein only from chapati. But you are not animal who eat only chapati. be educated be careful.
Comeon man, eggs are cheap. Most people can afford eggs, no excuse on skipping eggs. Other sources, yes they are expensive. But, are you telling me a family can't spend 50 rupees on eggs per day.

Protein is costliest macro-nutrients. As long as India's per capita income is very low, there is no way that common men can meet daily requirement of protein. 76% indian being protein deficient is conservative estimates, in my experience 90% Indian body don't have enough protein.
We need to diversify our diet. I lived in China and was impressed by how diverse their food was. Meat was cheaper than vegetables and I found Chinese to be healthier than Indians. They also have very healthy skin. Not saying that every one should start eating meat, but those who can need to be less choosy about their meat and try our different cuisines.

@@sunnyroy8771 The stats you quoted 65% of non Veg people are protein deficient, which means they are not eating healthy, now if we extrapolate at least 65% vegetarians are also not eating healthy if not more. So just a small reasoning effort reveals that it's more of a behavior issue than diet. Also, CM the study you quoted is a market survey, by a subsidiary of Kantar Group and not a scientific research conducted in a university or hospital. A market research or survey is usually done when a company wants to sell something, and is akin to propaganda. My whole point was, we Indians have bought in to the western propaganda. Dal and legumes are great source of protein for the masses, eat less watery Dal, eat roti or rice and eat vegetables then we will be healthy. Eat meat if you want to, but not necessary. I eat around 200gms of uncooked legumes, after cooking they become like 350 -500 gms, and eat it every other day. I get around 80-85 gms of protein on Dal day and around 60 gms of protein on vegetables day. On avg I get 72gms of protein and this is on basic Indian diet. So now they are completely opposed to the idea of whey itself. I don't even know what to do now.
Eggs are incredibly nutritious. Protein adequacy cannot be achieved by just veg diet...probably some body builders overly obsessed with calories and food can do it... but a normal working class person can't do it with veg food
Same here. Vegan since 2019. Soya chunks, All sorts of Dal, Rajma, vegetables, fruits, peanuts, soya milk etc already enough protein to keep body and kidneys healthy.
Better option is to choose one or two primary sources of protein that you can afford and enjoy, and then stick to eating them daily. Don't look for entertainment through food. It's the fuel for our bodies, not a choice. The ones who believe it's a choice are suffering. I eat paneer and consume whey almost everyday. Trust me once you start treating it as fuel and not a mood boosting magic food, it will become much easier.
How To Live In Harmony With Nature And Reduce Pollution 1. Many Production Which We Do Not Need Actually For Human Beings Has To Be Stopped We manufacture so many products and it is creating pollution. So if we minimise our products, pollution would be less. We produce so many things which we do not need, like cold drinks, leather products, potato wafers, chips, fruit juices, chocolates, biscuits, pickles, ice creams, etc. Cold drinks, fruit juices, pickles, ice creams, etc. Should be cooked at home only. If we stopped producing this things which are not required for humans, so much pollution could be reduced. If we colour the clothes pollution occurs. So if we don't colour our clothes, the pollution resulting from colouring the clothes can be stopped. Let everything remain in natural colour. 2. We Should Cook Foods In Its Natural Form We can cook rice and wheat in our homes and eat it. Rice and Wheat is produced in farms. Then it is packed and transported to big warehouses, then wholesalers buy from them and supply to retail shops. But if a manufacturing company makes bread from rice and wheat, then to make bread a manufacturing company has to be set up, machines and working staffs are needed. When a company is built many other things are also needed. Then at last a plastic pack is required to pack the breads. So if we start cooking eatable things in its natural form then we do not need many companies like bread manufacturing company, tomato ketchup, noodles, fruit jam, pizza, burger, etc., the things required for the company and the plastic pack, paper box pack and glass bottles. If done like this, so many companies will not be required and hence less pollution for the world. Also we could save our money like this. If you buy a packet of bread, it would cost you more money than if you cook wheat and rice in home. Previously before industrial revolution, we didn't have technology, but our foods were rich with nutrients. Now we have technology, but technology is polluting our foods and our foods are not rich with nutrients, and because of that also we have health problems. If this is done, then many jobs would be lost. For that many peoples should do farming and they should be given loans if they do not have enough money to start farming on their own. Food, Medicines, Surgeries and Education's should be made free to the world till the world settles down with farming. After that food, medicines, surgeries and education's should be stopped free to the world. Many people should study botany subject so that they have knowledge of plants and they should do farming. Is their any another solution, that humans won't lose jobs and also pollution would decrease. Humans have to take this step certainly instead of going on polluting the earth, making wildlife extinct and also mass extinctions of humans in future. 3. Electricity Pollution We create electricity from many types of sources like coal, water, etc., but it creates pollution. If electricity created from windmill and solar energy then no pollution occurs in the creation process. But still to manufacture windmill and solar machines pollution would occur. As I previously said that if we shut down many manufacturing companies which are producing things which are not needed for humans, then the world would not require so much electricity. If less electricity required, then less pollution generated. 4. Could We Stop Drinking Cow's and Buffalo's Milk Whatever vitamins and nutrients we get from milk, if we can get it from other eatable things, then we can stop drinking cow's and buffalo's milk. As milk has to be packed in glass bottles and plastic packs and then transported to places. All of this can be stopped. For infants whose mother's have died or mother's who cannot breast feed their infants, only for them cow's and buffalo's milk should be given. We use milk in tea and coffee. Instead of milk we must use coconut milk with tea. 5. How Much Should Be The World's Population Every place should have a single house. No buildings, everything ground floor. If we do this and the whole lands of our planet earth would be occupied one day with homes, farms, forests, schools, hospitals, etc., then we would come to know how much our planet earth can have maximum population. Once the population is determined, then we have to maintain that population. For example if our earth can have a population of 10 billion peoples, then when the population reaches 10 billion, then everyone should have only one child till the population reaches 9 billion peoples. As if we have only one child then the population decreases. When population is 9 billion peoples, then everyone should have 2 children's till the population reaches 10 billion peoples. After that again we should have only one child. In this way population can be maintained.
I find it perplexing that some people insist he should eat meat. Everyone has different beliefs and values, and not everyone lacks compassion. Sometimes, the best we can do is make a bad situation less terrible. I understand that meeting protein needs through vegetarian or vegan options can be challenging, but he is making an effort and staying true to his principles. We should learn from his dedication and respect his choices.

Dont listen to those pot bellied uncles

Please note : excess protein can cause kidney damage I am a working man serving to Indian army

namste doctor sir 🙏
to actually reach excess protein you'll have to eat impossible amounts of protein on a daily basis for a long time.
people who gym can even safely consume upto 3.5g per kg body weight although its not optimal
on average indians dont even get 1g of protein per kg so its senseless to worry about eating too much of it
Even if you have 100g your kidneys won't be damaged, too much protein is better than too little protein
"Excess protein" issues are way overblown.. Protein is excessive when consumed like 2 grams per kg of body weight. and that is for an average human.
We all saw the video where a jawan was complaining about the meals they are forced to eat.. it was not ideal.
I recently started maintaing a diet plan and its very difficult as well as costly also i spent around 1 - 1.5k monthly for just breakfast for basic nutrients. Maintaining a protein rich diet as a student is more difficult task even my mom stops me from eating more than 2 eggs a day and buying supplements like whey protein is like my 2-3 months savings.😢
Very true. It's tough to maintain a healthy diet as they suggest when you are a student or in working life. Recently I started to focus on protein intake and had to eat very consciously every time adding to added cost~~100/day.
I can feel you bro, i was the same when i was student, had all the knowledge but couldn't execute on it because i didn't had money at that time.
Here is what i will recommended keep acquiring knowledge and do your best given the situation and forget the rest.
Once you start making money priorities fitness with all the knowledge you have acquired.
I think this is the best given your situation.
Eat soya.. Quinoa
earn your money first and then maintain your health- dont increase protein intake on parent's money

50 grams soaked or roasted peanuts (or homemade peanut butter without additives/sugar) - 12 grams of protein. Cost - 10 to 15 Rs.
200 grams of curd - 10 grams of protein. Cost - 15 to 20 Rs.
One vegetarian thali as per convenience
If budget allows - 25 grams of soaked chia seeds and sunflower seeds for an additional 10 grams of protein - total cost 20 Rs.
See even homemade tofu 70
Rupees per kg soya bean and you can make tofu like 700 to 800 gm with 500gm of beans
Peanuts are more fats and less protein, peanut butter is not a "protien rich" food. It only has a very moderate amount of protein. Def >10 g.
According to your example it will cost approx 70-80 rs per person to get 50-60 grams of protein per day, and a family of four would need to spend 200 to 250 rs each day brother, a normal Indian family cannot afford this amount, believe it or not, it's all about money protein sources are expensive

In all of our home meals, one protein item is a must. Chicken, eggs, fish, paneer, soya, tofu. Any one of these is a must for each meals. Needs to be optimum though. These all have no or less carb compared to protein.
Here are some high protein plant foods:
1. Lentils (1 cup, cooked):18 grams of protein/ Same as: 3 large eggs
2. Chickpeas (1 cup, cooked):14.5 grams of protein/ Same as: 2 large eggs + 1 slice of cheese
3.Quinoa (1 cup, cooked):8 grams of protein/ Same as: 1 cup of milk
4. Tofu (1/2 cup):10 grams of protein/ Same as: 1.5 large eggs
5.Tempeh (1/2 cup):21 grams of protein/ Same as: 3 ounces of chicken breast
6.Black Beans (1 cup, cooked):15 grams of protein/ Same as: 2 large eggs + 1 slice of cheese
7.Edamame (1 cup, cooked):17 grams of protein/ Same as: 1 cup of cottage cheese

How To Live In Harmony With Nature And Reduce Pollution
1. Many Production Which We Do Not Need Actually For Human Beings Has To Be Stopped
We manufacture so many products and it is creating pollution.
2. We Should Cook Foods In Its Natural Form
We can cook rice and wheat in our homes and eat it.
3. Electricity Pollution
We create electricity from many types of sources like coal, water, etc., but it creates pollution.
4. Could We Stop Drinking Cow's and Buffalo's Milk
Whatever vitamins and nutrients we get from milk, if we can get it from other eatable things, then we can stop drinking cow's and buffalo's milk.
5. How Much Should Be The World's Population
Every place should have a single house.
As you said ICMR analyzed 36 whey protein brands to be fake. Why these brands have not been listed anywhere?
I find it perplexing that some people insist he should eat meat. Everyone has different beliefs and values, and not everyone lacks compassion. Sometimes, the best we can do is make a bad situation less terrible. I understand that meeting protein needs through vegetarian or vegan options can be challenging, but he is making an effort and staying true to his principles. We should learn from his dedication and respect his choices.
