Chani was so insufferable in Dune 2. Villeneuve says he wanted to show that she was skeptical of his politics to underline Paul's dark nature, but none of that came across at all. She was just an insular xenophobic idiot.
I mean, her skepticism does come across clearly. I hope y'all realize that Chani represents Frank Herbert's actual opinion. Without Chani, the movie would have lost all it's moral complexity.

@@Kwisatz-Chaderach people misinterpreted it back when Dune was written, why have that problem now? Sounds like gatekeeping to me.
