jes leon Yes it’s quite a bit but you can do it! Just take the time to write out what you want to accomplish each week and you will be well on your way!
I totally relate with not having perviously used social media!!! And my husband was also my saving grace. I absolutely appreciate your videos and your advice! I am still in the research phase and truly learning so much from you beautiful youtubers!

I been preparing my self to launch my business from the past 5 or 6 months I’m buying my products slowly and researching everywhere I could to learn more about the products I want to make and be successful
The biggest thing I have learnt , is that using an inkjet printer, the labels are not waterproof. I had washed my hands but hadn’t dried them properly, I touched my jar and all the ink smudged right off, I was devastated! I am pricing them on the higher side, but realised water or wax on your fingers, just a little bit, can ruin your labels! I have now invested in a laser printer, a lot more expensive to buy, but I’m paying monthly on finance. But this makes me feel so much at ease. I can now feel that I can charge a higher price. That’s the biggest thing I have found starting up. x
This is wonderful advice. I have waded through the business side of my upcoming company (LLC, business license, zoning, sales tax registration, etc) and I still have a few things to nail down before I open shop. I have also waded through the many waxes, scents, container choices, etc, and finally settled on what I am going to mostly be using. I am also working on a forward business plan like what products I see myself expanding to like melts, and also possibly expanding to soaps and other unique smelling items. Doing it alone can be overwhelming but taking it one day at a time has worked for me. I am shooting for 11/15 as a shop opening date but it's possible that it may move closer to Thanksgiving. I'm excited and I already understand that this will take time and to just enjoy the ride, even if it takes time to develop a consistent clientele.
Don't get too caught up and stress over the legal stuff, make some candles and do your legal. Switch back and forth. It will overwhelm you and you will want to stop. (Speaking from experience). Plus you will need to mess up your candles a few times before they are perfected. 😊

Totally understand! Which is why I had to finally step back and take more of a grip as well. You are trying to perfect the craft; which is great! But, everything will begin to come together ;)
Paris, really enjoyed the video! Some really strong points. People often start by selling at a local market. I advise you to make sure your business liscence is current, and you carry at least minimum insurance. If anything goes south with a product, you've covered your bases. It's not cheap, but the alternative is losing your business or your personal finances. That is not why you started your business. Believe in yourself you can do this!

I have not launched my business yet but I am so concerned about finances. So far I have been writing down the money I have spent on supplies and anything related to my business. I am trying to figure out my product pricing. I have not started selling yet, but plan on starting on Etsy in the next couple of months. I do not know anything about taxes, etc. What should I do? Do I need to talk to someone about bookkeeping? Thank you for making all of these videos Paris. I know this sounds cheesy but I would suggest that you check the pawn shops for cameras , my husband is a dog breeder and pictures make all the difference we found a Canon moderately priced

My problem is that I found everything for my candle business except for jars! I really wanted those glasses with wood caps but no one sells them in my country or even just glass jars with metal cap... The only way is to buy them from the other country but this is gonna be pricey. I use Mailerlite! Also, since I am with Shopify, they have a built in email list builder as well as people subscribe. So I linked both and use them interchangeably.

Roughly how much is it to make each of the candles so you can figure out how much you need to charge so you make a profit and also how much of a profit should you be getting off of your candles
Maci Whitesell Honestly, I can’t give you a concrete answer unfortunately. You have to break down your entire COGS to come to that. There is a lot that goes into the final package that gets to the final customer 😊 so once that is determined, you multiply it 2 or 3 times to charge the customer to hopefully make profit.

I try to register my business with my state myself, but so many questions on the application that I'm very confused. Please help.
If that’s what you feel you need, I use Shopify as my website and I went to Namecheap.com for my domain name before I registered so I just went with needing the filing 😊

Shavon Rowan I use Shopify and have it set to where it calculates the shipping for me based on the weight and destination

Do you recommend to get the premium package that includes the website and business domain name? I try to register my business with my state myself, but so many questions on the application that I'm very confused. Please help.
If that’s what you feel you need, I use Shopify as my website and I went to Namecheap.com for my domain name before I registered so I just went with needing the filing 😊
