I cannot find a snare I love better than his signature, and that includes a 14x6 OCDP vented one.
It's cool watching Chris play so gentle on his drums, but the sound coming from them are killer.
I swear to God he is a machine. Like Mark says, he sees everything in binary code. My absolute favorite metal drummer of this generation. So precise and musical.

I don't know if you know what a herta is, but they are hard as hell to play with your feet, and Chris is does an amazing job of incorporating it into this song.
idk if he is straight alternating that, or if he is just doing two 32nd-notes on his left foot. or doing 16ths with his right foot/throwing a left in where it goes. either way, god tier feet for sure

The vid is produced by his cymbal company so it makes sense that the Mic for them would override the kick drum
One of the reasons it might sound out of the time is the delay from the other instruments. He would be playing in time with his in ear monitors it just sounds out of time because he is so far away and of where the video is taken.

I know these drum cam videos are supposed to be showcasing the sound of Meinl Cymbals but I wish I could hear the kick drums
Audio is recorded with Zoom Q3, and that thing records well only mid and high frequencies, bass drum has low frequency - you can´t hear it that good.

I can hear the double bass too, but not as loud as I would like to hear it. It's sound more the cymbals and the snare. Maybe you have a ExtraBass headphones but compare this with a only drums version or just the studio song

Actually, in the description of the other meinl videos from that show (ruin, set to fail) it sais that the sound comes from the zoom Q3HD camera mic, which features an xy stereo condenser mic set up. The reasons why the snare is louder than the toms/ are
1.Chris hits it god damn hard
2.wood/size/head choice of this specific drum makes it cut through where as toms don't have as much highs to cut through the mix
The bassdrum isn't as loud cause
1.its little further away
2.its muffled

I read an article a while back, forget where. He was honored by the offer but respectfully declined. He played either a few songs or the whole album ( I forget the details) drum track on the newest Megadeth release.

Because I've worked in the industry and there is no way that that one mic picks up all the cymbals around the kit, on all areas of the kit, yet doesn't pick up the tom closest to it, or the kick drum. Also, the snare is loud is fuck, ye the toms are not. That means the snare track is also being used. There are a lot of tracks in this audio. Recorded straight from the board. Listening to it can tell you that.
i can perfectly hear the double bass.. you should buy a better headphone,
