  • Today i removed the LA525 loader to do some mowing. I then show how to reinstall the front loader. I take the loader off to make the tractor more maneuverable as well as take some weight off the front end. Doing so also reduces the need to use 4wd.

    Good demonstration! I can’t believe you’d talk about me like that for never removing my loader 🤣🤣! I actually like the ride quality better with the loader and in most cases need the weight of it. But I’ve definitely been in situations where not having it on would be nice. I think a lot of people are intimidated by removing the loader but like you said it’s not bad at all, as long as it’s parked in a good spot! Take care!

    • @HillsideAcres
      @HillsideAcres  3 роки тому +1

      Lol I would never say bad about Ben Kennedy! I guess it’s just personal opinion. I think it rides way better with it off, especially on the little l series, tires are air and no wheel weights, I have been considering wheel weights for the m series. A nice steel ballast like you have would be a good option for counter balance the loader too!

      @@HillsideAcres Honestly the biggest reason I like leaving the loader on is for a park brake. Where mine doesn’t have the park selection I don’t trust the foot brake latch and it will roll even in gear with the engine off. So the loader gives that extra security when parked on hills.

    • @HillsideAcres
      @HillsideAcres  3 роки тому +2

      @@khtractors I can completely agree with that, especially knowing that most places in your region are probably going to be parking on a hill lol. I was originally planned to purchase the 6060 with the 8 speed but they told me i would have to wait to get r1 tires switched on so i talked my self into the 7060 with 12 speed that was on the lot with r1s already.

    I have only had my loader off once. The Westendorf loader on the 2520 John Deere has never been off. I have no need to have either one off. The time that I had the loader off of the Kubota L2501 was to make wiring the light bar on the ROPS easier. Hooking and un hooking the loader was a snap. Thanks for sharing Richie.

      I feel like I’m the only one that prefers the loader off when I don’t need it on, maybe it’s because I prefer moving at faster paces. Thanks for stopping by Gary

      @@HillsideAcres , I get it Richie. Where I mow, it is a really good idea to leave the mower on. Chances are really good that I am going to need it. Maybe next year, I will have gotten the overgrown brush under control here and things will be different.

    Thanks for the video I got my 2501 hst coming any day. I really didn’t want the hst model. But the dt model didn’t have a live pto and that I just can’t figure out?? Lol!!

      Not having a live pto on a gear tractor where you will be using the clutch a lot didnt make much sense to me. We like the hst as we bought it for mostly mowing and barn chores. The 7060 does the heavy jobs. You will be happy with it !

    I tried to take my FEL off yesterday and couldn’t get it to lift off. Now I realize that it won’t work without the bucket. I had my grapple attachment on. I love having the bucket or grapple on when brushhogging, but the tractor rides so rough and bounces, so I’m going to try and remove the FEL and take about 5lbs of air out of the back tires.

    • @HillsideAcres
      @HillsideAcres  2 роки тому

      Yes you need something on the front to roll it off the frame. Leaving the loader on is good if you don’t know what is under you and can find the stumps and other suprises but for the regular stuff taking the loader off makes the tractor ride so much better in my opinion !

      You should! Especially since you’re tires aren’t loaded yet, having the loaded on puts leverage over the front axle making the rear end light, I prefer to have the loader off if I don’t need it on.

    Richie, I rarely remove my loader from either of my Kubota tractors. When major service is required is when they are removed. I find the loader very useful for most things that I do. I have also found it very difficult to reinstall the hydraulic lines if the temperature changes between the time of removal and reinstalling. Two wrenches are required to relieve the hydraulic pressure in the loader lines. You will experience this at some point in time, remember crack one line and that will help. Great video!
    Paul

    • @HillsideAcres
      @HillsideAcres  3 роки тому

      If you get hydraulic pressure a brass punch wrapped in a rag will completely solve that, maybe two minutes tops on or off. Opening up a fitting will usually result in a oil shower. I believe a company called “Waite” has just introduced a tool for relieving the pressure as well. Having the loader on for field work just makes for more wear on the tractor as well as the field.
