- A subscriber asked me if I would do a video on removing and installing the front end loader on my Kubota. So Tommy, this video is for you and anyone else who wants to see how to do it before they try it. It's not hard and with a little practice, it can be done pretty quickly.

Appreciate your attention to detail in your videos. You show the how and why of the steps. Make it look very easy, but I'm going to follow tractor Mike's advice and leaving it on!
What are Tractor Mike's reasons for leaving it on? I'll take mine off when mowing because my 3-point mower doesn't offer any ballast when it's on the ground. Removing the loader makes my tractor more stable on the hillside. Other than that, yeah, I always have it on.
Thank you so much for saying so, Terry! It is fairly easy to do once you've practiced a few times. The key is taking it off on a very flat area or, better yet, concrete. If you take it off on uneven ground, you'll get it off just fine. Getting it back on will be a nightmare, which is what I expect happened to Tractor Mike based on his video.
BEST VIDEO EVER. I’ve seen it probably 15 times!! Everytime I hook and unhook my loader.
Great video. Couple points: 1) activate the loader control lock after removing the hydraulic lines to prevent any surprises, 2) remember to pull back the hydraulic connector lock in order to insert and remove the hydraulic line cover, 3) make sure you are clear of any hydraulic lines when approaching the loader for attachment
Good tips, Joe! Thanks for watching!
Thank you for making this video and the many others as well. I recently purchased my first tractor and have been trying to learn as much about it as I can. Your videos are concise, to the point and easy to follow. Your time is appreciated.
It’s always good to hear my videos have been helpful. Thanks for watching!
You make it look so easy. It has been about 7 years since I removed one of my Kabota loaders, and I'm about to do it again for my new LA525 (arrived yesterday) to get ready for winter ops. After that will be removing the BH77. Your timing is perfect. Thanks
Hi Tracy! See, I timed it that way just for you! Glad it will help you out. Thanks for watching!
Excellent video! No waisted time, and no skipped information. I will approach the loader slowly! LOL
Thank you for this! Much easier than I thought initially looking at it.
You’re welcome, Liam! That’s right. After you do it a few times, it’s not hard at all. Thanks for watching!
Thanks VERY much, easy to follow, and exactely to the point, glad you didn't add explanations of other features.
I sure thought it was going to be a tough job. But now....not so much. Thanks a million.
You are very welcome, Harry. Thanks for watching!
Great video. After I discovered it a few weeks back I will now watch it whenever I want to detach my loader. Well done !!!
Thanks, Buck! Glad it was helpful to you!
Great demo video! Funny too...avoid spooking the loader 😂😂😂
I’m glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching!
Love your videos and your sense of humor. Very informative and not drawn out like a lot of other channels. Thanks for what you do.
Thank you, JD! I try to stick to just what I think the viewer needs to know and not ramble on just to hear myself talk. Thanks for watching!
I've watched several of these remove/reinstall FEL on the L-series Kubotas and yours is one of the best. One extra point : The drop arms have to sit on flat, solid ground or on a solid piece of plywood or lumber like a 2x10. I made the mistake of removing the FEL on a grass surface and the next day the skinny folding arms had sunk a couple of inches in the grass. One sunk a tad more than the other so it was slightly lop-sided. What a miserable pain to reinstall the loader! It took me 1/2 hour to do a 3 minute task. After watching your video I tried it again on my level, concrete driveway and it came on and went back on just like in your vid. Thanks.
Martin, thanks so much. Exactly what I need to know. Have a great day.
You are very welcome, Tommy. Glad it was a help to you!
Awesome video, well explained and documented. I used it to help get the front end loader off my L4060 for the first time. Thanks!!
Thank you, Jeff! Glad to hear the video helped you!
Thanks for another excellent video. I have been having a little trouble when taking mine off and on, and being inconsistent. Sometimes it goes easy and sometimes not, your video showed me what I was doing incorrect (bucket angle). Thanks so much and God Bless!
Glad to help, Gil! I was really intimidated the first time I took my FEL off, but after doing it a few times, it becomes second nature. The key is to remove and install it on very flat ground. Concrete is the best. Thanks for watching!
You are an excellent demonstrator. Thank you
Hello there Martin!!! You make great 'How to' videos!!! The step by step info for the loader removal was complete and concise!!! Very nice. Take care!!!
Hi Mike! Thank you for the kind words, sir! I enjoy doing that type of video so I’m glad they’re useful to folks. Thanks for watching!
nice and relaxed presentation and not winging it!! has done this before cheers from uk
Just about to perform 50 hour maintenance. This is good info to have. Thanks
Glad it helped! Good luck!
Best demonstration yet!
Thanks 1rustytree! I appreciate you saying that!
Appreciated that you took the time to film this. Nice reminder when needed.
Thanks for watching, Nate!
By far the best explanation I've seen on UA-cam (and I've seen plenty !). Thanks !
Wow, thanks! Glad it was helpful!
Great demonstration and sense of humor! ☺️
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching!

Thanks for watching!
Nice job. Very informative and helpful
Thanks! Glad it was helpful!
L ove the visual of you chasing your loDER ll over the field after spooking it. THANKS.
Thank you sir! I definitely needed the lesson on this. Made my day so much easier.
You're very welcome! Thanks for watching!
Good evening Sir ! Very nice informative video. Keep up the good work !!! Cheers !!!
Thank you, Dave! Cheers!
Great video sir. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for watching, Don!
Okay, now you showed us how to take the Front end loader off. So you know what that means, You have to show us how to make a dolly for it. thanks again for another wonderful how to video.
LOL. Well I haven’t ruled that out, but it’s not a priority right now since I rarely take it off. Thanks for the kind words and for watching!
This video really helped. Thanks!
Glad to hear it! You’re welcome!
Very well done.
Thank you kindly!
Great Video. Thanks.
Thanks for watching!
Thank you!
You made it look easy.
I've bee terrified to try.
You’re welcome, Alan! You can do it. Thanks for watching!
Very helpful
Thank you!
Nice job Martin! I'm really glad you didn't have to run down your loader! LOL These loaders today are all about the same when it comes to removing them. Nice and easy. Back in the day depending on the tractor, it could of taken half a day of hard work getting one off. Have a good one my friend and stop spooking them loaders! LOL!
Hi John! LOL. Yes, I’m glad they’ve made it pretty easy to get them on and off these days. Yep, nothing tires me out quicker than having to chase down my loader after spooking it. It’s especially aggravating when it climbs a tree. You just have to walk away and wait for it to come down on it’s own. Have a most excellent week!
LOL!!
The loader on my Kubota is a LA854 so larger than the loader in this video. The procedure to remove or mount the loader is exactly the same. Kubota engineered a wonderful system. Yes a run away loader is very troublesome. It’s best to brand your loader in case a neighbour claims your loader is theirs if it gets onto their property.
🤣 Branding the loader! Brilliant! Thanks for watching!
Hey Martin, I missed this video so I'm making up for lost time 😊. I've taken my loader off the small Massey GC1710 many times. On the larger Massey 1533, I've never removed the loader. I had no need but one day after completing my chores, I decided to satisfy my curiosity and remove the FEL. Well....I still never did 😯. So now this video has me curious again. I probably won't b/c I just got the 1533 cleaned / detailed to trade-up and the last thing I need to do is Gurr things up right before getting rid of her. I'll just tell the dealer that the FEL is still a virgin. Enjoyed your entire presentation. Excellent tutorial and also enjoyed reading the comments. A few of them had me chuckling. Enjoy your week.
Hi Don! So what are you going to trade in your 1533 for? A Kubota, no doubt! 😃 Thanks for watching and for the kind words! Stay well!
@@DIYMyWay No Martin (but nice try) 😊. My Massey dealership is part of my Christian family. Color of tractor means nothing; what's behind the tractor is worth gold.
I have yet to try this with my L3901. Partly because I don't have anywhere level and solid to take it off. I need a shop like yours! Good video
Don't even try without a hard surface level spot! Ask me how I know...
Thanks, Phil! TennCutty is exactly right. You’ll can get it off on uneven ground but getting it back on is a whole different story!
Great videos
Thanks, Keith!
I wish I would have seen this video before I tried, now I have a major body work job ahead of me. The most import thing is to park on solid surface, after the legs sink in the ground it is almost impossible to get the loader back one. Thanks for the video
I’m glad the video was helpful to you but sorry you watched it too late. Thanks for watching!
smooth
I would like to see how you did the bolt on bucket hooks
Hi Kelly! Sorry, but I put those on before I started my UA-cam channel. However, there’s an installation video on the Ken’s Bolt-On Hooks website that shows you how. Thanks for watching!
One more tutorial! This is the first time I see the advice of lifting enough to clear the front wheels. I always have a question for you. At 1:00, we can see the right side of the support a half-moon cutout. Do you have an idea why is this? Thanks!
Hi Joe! No, I don't know but I'll go look to see if I can figure it out. Thanks for watching!
Spook the loader?...... Haha... Love it.
Tractor Mike you watching this? Good video!
Thanks for watching, TennCutty!
Nice. I like a video that's to the point and perfectly edited. Well done sir! - .Just curious, how many of you guys actually take your loader off? I really haven't found the need for it, while my brother always takes his off.
Thank you for the kind words! The only time I take mine off is for tractor maintenance, because it gets in the way. Since I use my loader all the time, it makes no sense to take it off. Thanks for watching!
Grest video. Makes it look easy. This may seem like a dumb question but with the L series why would you ever want to remove it? With no mid PTO I can't see a reason to ever remove mine. The reason I ask is that I am adding a 3rd function (my own design) and will likely skip the quick connect couplings and plumb direct to my valving. Maybe I am not thinkIing of why one would want to remove the FEL or forgetting something. Any insight is appreciated.
The biggest reason I take it off is for maintenance of the engine. It much easier to access and inspect the engine with it off. And no, I would not raise it all the way up while working on the tractor. It would still be in the way. Once you remove it a couple of times it becomes trivial to do. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching!
Will a model LA 514 front bucket attachment mount onto. (Fit) my kubota L 3400
Hi Dale! Sorry, but I don’t know. Your dealership should be able to answer that question. Thanks for watching!
Thanks DIY! A good video for new tractor owners. Are you sure there is no little space in the back corner of the new garage for me and my B2601? Cause I think I see one...LOL! Cheers!
LOL! I’ll take another look, GP. There might be a spot I’ve overlooked. Thanks for watching!
Have you completed the 50 hour service (fuel filter ) yet? Nice video of FEL removal ! Thumbs up
In my L3901 manual, the fuel filter isn’t replaced until 400 hours, so you’ll see that in the 400 hour service video, although I might release the fuel filter and water separator maintenance as a stand-alone video before then. Thanks for watching!
I had to change front end loader valve on L3450 Kubota, now it seems to interfere with pressure on the 3 point hitch. I justled hoses around and was able to get the hitch working by raising the hitch lever to position but had to use loader lever to have pressure for hitch what is going on over here?
Hi Walter! Assuming you bought a factory replacement loader valve, it should have been set up for power beyond, which has all things hydraulic in a series loop. The 3-point is the last stop on that loop before the hydraulic fluid returns to the tank. If you connected all the hoses exactly the same way, it should have worked. Unless there is a power beyond plug needed for the valve to make it operate that is bought separately. A quick call to your dealer may solve the mystery. Good luck and thanks for watching!
About how many times, if any, have you wanted the L4701? You get quite a bit more machine for $100/m over five years. Thanks!
Good question! I have wondered only a few times if I should have gone with the L4701. So far the L3901 has done everything I need, though. I guess I’d have to try the L4701 to know what I was missing. Ignorance is bliss! Thanks for watching!
Good video Martin...you guys with the new tractors are soooo spoiled. But yes, it is quite easy once you do it a time or two. I've even removed the 4500 Ford loader...but it sure wasn't simple !!
Want to know something funny....??? I've been following you since way back near the beginning and realized just now I have not subscribed yet !!! So for a few minutes I am your NEWEST subscriber but one of your longest viewers !!! LOL. Old age huh.....
I’m surprised so many people make a big deal about removing and installing the loader on modern tractors. The key is doing on it on a flat surface.
Wow! Better late than never! I hope you clicked that notification bell too! Thanks for watching and (finally) subscribing! LOL
How about a video showing the LED installation on the rollover bar?

How do I reinstall my brush loader on my kabota 765. It won’t open and close completely.
Please help me
It’s got to e a simple fix.
By brush loader do you mean a grapple? If so, look for a physical obstruction of the grapple mechanism, make sure the grapple is correctly attached to your loader’s SSQA. If no issues there, then troubleshoot the 3rd function control valve and hose connections. Thanks for watching and good luck!
LA1154 Kubota front end loader cylinder specs
So the bucket has to be installed?? Has anyone done with with the loader alone (no attachment)?
I tried without a bucket and the geometry of the support legs was not gonna happen, they gouged my floor and the front end was still a foot off the floor.......sigh, there must be a way.
Sorry, but the design requires the weight and shape of a bucket for the FEL to safely be removed and stored, as you discovered on your own. Thanks for watching!
Thanks, but some Kubotas have 4 removable pins, not 2.
Appreciate your attention to detail in your videos. You show the how and why of the steps. Make it look very easy, but I'm going to follow tractor Mike's advice and leaving it on!
Actually, I would agree with Mike and I leave mine on except for major maintenance to the tractor. However, after you do it a few times, it really is pretty easy. Thanks for watching!
Very helpful
Thanks for watching, Willard!
