I'm "retired" from being a full time, homeschooling Mommy. Now, I'm a full time Mama Jane:) to a lot of grands.
Lisa, I enjoy watching you and remembering my life back in the day with 5 little ones.
I believe the key to doing all that you do is staying home and being content.
I didn't go very much then and I still don't go a lot now. If you want to be a successful HOME keeper, you have to be home! Thank you for being a Godly example and encouraging young women to take care of their families.

Hi Jane, I enjoyed reading your comment and hearing your wisdom. May I ask you your thoughts on having activities for kids as they get older? We have teens down to baby age now, and adding more activities into the schedule for the older ones. I am finding it is taking more juggling, with being home less. I wonder the right thing to do! My kids are homeschooled, but we attend a co-op group once a week. I feel guilt about being too busy yet guilt about not doing enough activities.

This is such an encouraging comment! My personality enjoys being at home and balks at going out because it can be overwhelming for me. I’m still going to push myself to get out, but it’s comforting to know that home is where I’m supposed to be and I can enjoy my natural tendency toward being home and loving all of the homemaking!

Yes! Now I am a Ninna and love the new role. Homeschooling was great and now I get to help with my grands. I look back and wonder how I got everything done but the children helped so much! I miss that time but need to enjoy this new season as well.
I love watching this next generation on UA-cam .

I love that you call yourself a homemaker as opposed to a stay at home mom, which is the phrase I’ve always used for myself in the past. Going forward I will be saying homemaker because that is exactly what we do. Wonderful and inspiring video 🫶🏻

Lisa, my mother made a tomato gravy to have with biscuits or grits, for breakfast. It was a sweet gravy. She made a roux then added milk, home canned tomatoes, and a little bit of sugar and salt. I know it sounds odd, but she fried bacon and used a bit of the bacon grease for making the roux. We loved crushing some of the crispy bacon into the tomato gravy, when we put over our biscuit or our grits. I grew up in south Louisiana, so this May have been a regional recipe. She was a great southern cook, who knew how to stretch ingredients, in order to feed a growing family, economically.
You are filling your family’s lives with beauty, economy, and grace. My mother did this same thing. She also grew lots of flowers, so we always had bouquets in our home. She provided the flowers for her church each Sunday for 10 years. She said she could work out many of life’s frustrations in God’s good earth. Keep creating! Living in the spirit of the Great Creator brings joy to life!

Tomato gravy was a staple on my great grandparents Kansas farm. Fresh tomatoes from the garden were cooked down as described above. I love the idea of using good canned tomatoes! That means we can have it all year long!!! ❤️

I've never had a fancy hanging thing to dry herbs. I've always used a long bark covered stick. I tie twine on each end to hang it and then tie the herbs on the stick. Works well and is pleasing to look at! Also, the previous owner hung lots of curtains on the windows in the kitchen. I don't like curtains, (dust catchers and more to keep clean). I use the hook things the curtain rods attached to, to hang herbs for dryings. That works well also and is pleasing to look at.

Next time you are at the hardware store, grab ‘s’ hooks. It makes hanging the herbs and taking them down soooooo much easier. I have done so and have loved it.

Hi Lisa, love these types of videos. I'm struggling with keeping routine while also just letting the kids run and enjoy their summer days. I'm constantly reeling the kids in to help with things. I'd love to see a video of the kids routine and chores. I need encouragement of the family working together. I'd love to know what time other mom's get up and go to bed. With my husband's odd schedule we've gotten off track.

Love you videos Lisa and all your hints for decluttering the house. and for cooking at home from scratch recipes from a full stocked pantry. Here's one of my favorite: Take a plastic margarine container. Add a dab of the cooking oil of your choice and smear it around the bottom of the container. Sprinkle in an even layer of grated parmesan cheese and a some crumbled bacon bits (real bacon, not Bacos, which are mostly soy). Thirty seconds in the microwave, with a the margarine container lid on top, punched with a few holes. Pull out the container. Flip it upside down on a plate. Now treat yourself to a "parmesan crisp," a delicious and between meals snack good for eating in the comfort of your own home..

I used to have a dried flower and herb shop years ago. If you use rubber bands and put it through half or so of the bundle then wrap around the whole bunch and back over half the bundle it stays when the bundles dry. I then use thick wire to bend into S hooks and just hang that way. I like the drying rack!!

Hi Lisa. Love your videos. I wanted to share a receipe. Milk gravy and grate in hard boiled eggs. Delicious. I've used it over biscuits and used that for my breakfast pizza when no meat is available.

Such a beautiful day… I love your creativity Lisa! That pizza looks so good. The herb rack is going to be so pretty as different herbs are tied on as seasons move along!
