I do admire you teaching the kids to cook , clean and take care of the chores on the farm.. I have to say more people should be teaching their kids these things instead of letting them sit in front of a TV or play games! Im 51 years old and my mom was raised on a farm in Missouri with 8 children and she taught me as a child to cook ,clean etc.. Something I have valued all my life ....🥰
I was never taught that stuff growing up. Spent half my 30s trying to learn all the things I should already know. My kids are learning right along with me.
Your kids are so cute and I love that they help out in the kitchen. When you are old and gray and they have kids of their own, they will look back warmly on the memories you are making now.
Love seeing your children with you in the kitchen! It is such an incredible skill that they are learning. More children should learn to cook from a young age. Love your content!
You had alot of little helpers today. I think it's pretty cool to see your kids helping you in the kitchen and in the garden. I LOVED WATCHING YOU AND THE FAMILY AT THE LAKE!! Kid's these day's stay inside and play on their Xbox, Nintendo or sit and watch TV all day long. Watching you all outside today reminded me of my childhood. We were always on the outside.
Jalapeño poppers are the nearly 7 year olds request for her birthday dinner- always a fav here!! Also- mama of 12, 5 left at home and love yoir peaceful content.
I love that you show Johanna cooking, I was home from school by 4 on the bus and mum wasn’t in until 6 so my job. Was chopping veg getting the dinner on and. Starting the fire from 11yrs old. Children are much more capable than some people make out. And when I was setting up my own home it was so easy to me because I already had the life skills of how to run a home and I was so appreciative!
Teaching a child to be self sufficient is the most beautiful thing… I learned to cook from my mother when I was around 6-7 yrs old, and cooked my first beef roast with all the trimmings (no crockpot, no insta pot) when I was 8 years old all by myself, my mother had to work all day and into the night and we had to eat.. Best meal ever
River Day looked amazing!! I am in awe at how you cook and are teaching your children how to cook!! I personally do not like to cook so to watch you is so amazing to me!!! Thank you for sharing your beautiful family! God Bless each of you!!
My girls are 3 and 4 and already love helping me in the kitchen. From dishes, mopping, to baking bread and cooking dinner, they want to be in there doing it as well :) i love it!! ♡♡ i love the memories and experience i know it is giving them!
Hi Lisa! I'm stressed this week, packing and moving a daughter, and my son's wedding so I said to myself you need to go watch one of Lisa's videos. It always calms me down and they are so enjoyable! Love the garden harvest and your kids are great cooks!
Thank you for another amazing video Lisa!! Seeing the kids cook with you and then having fun at the river is just wonderful! I can’t remember your sons name. The one that was picking the herbs and tomato! He is just darling!! That sweet smile! Thank you for sharing your beautiful family with us!! ❤️
I love the way you let your children help cook and do chores around the house! My Mom and Grandma (mostly my Gram) showed me how to cook and clean! I’m eternally grateful and am passing that on to my Granddaughter! Blessings ❤️
Sweetest little helpers ever! Summer meals for us growing up were always mom’s homemade butter biscuits and vegetables from our garden. I miss those days 🥰. I really enjoy watching your precious family. That river looked very relaxing. Take care and God bless y’all. 😀♥️
This "fried bread"- thing with sausage is very well known in russia😉 the dough is a bit different; it's mostly a yeast- dough. You roll it out and put the sausage with onion and seasonings inside; stick it together and fry it then☺ Can also be filled with (a bit more dry) mashed potatoes😉
As always, everything looked SO delicious! It is so awesome that your kids are involved in cooking, gardening and farming! Your daughter is really impressive in the kitchen! Thank you for sharing your family and knowledge!
Just love you and your family, Lisa! I always look forward to your content! Thanks for making all of this so authentic and approachable. All these meals looked wonderful. You should try making southwest chicken chili for a twist on regular chili!
Haha, I have the same here when my little ones are cooking… “did you put that in last time?” “Are you sure you want to put that herb/ spice in? Last time was sooo good…”, but yes, we have ended up with Strawberry Sourdough Challah 😂
Can I just say you are amazing! I love watching you cook with your children.. They are learning so many valuable life skills. I’m so hungry now because all your meals look so yummy😄. God bless your family 🙏🏼
Everything looks delicious. The Native American Women make fry bread here in So. Utah. They spread honey butter and a light sprinkle of powdered sugar on it. YUM. When they make tacos using fry bread for the taco shell; its called a navajo Taco. They are delicious and are even sold at a couplel burger places. Thanks for sharing your meals. Enjoy seeing the kids in the kitchen too.
This one was especially yummy looking to me! I’m a carb lover, lol. I’m so impressed by the way that you give Johanna free rein in the kitchen and allow her to add spices you wouldn’t add. That’s great mothering, Lisa! Your kids are going to turn out awesome!
I love seeing the children helping out in the kitchen. It's such a good thing to teach them how to cook early. Harvesting their own foods, helps them to appreciate every bite and maybe learn to love it all.
I love ur Kitchen video!!! Bread is the Staff of Life!❤️ You are very creative w/ ur baking!!! Out of 1 dough ur diversity is delish! Love watching Johanna cooking meals w/ you! She moves naturally beside u! Absolutely Joy to watch!🎈❤️🥰💋
I wish my kids had liked cooking like yours!!! It makes them so independent. Food looked delicious!!! As always!! God bless you and your wonderful family!!!
I love that your children are where you are learning life skills. They know what to do and have confidence. So good to be a mother! Thanks for sharing as my children are.grown now. Good memories!❣️❣️❣️
Wow, I am amazed at your daughter in the kitchen. I loved to bake when I was her age, but I would have never known anything about using all those spices like she did. That's awesome! I'm just now learning to lighten up and have fun in the kitchen (at age 40) and not be bound by measurements on everything. I just love your videos ❤️
Morning, love that your children are so helpful in the kitchen. All those different breads looked so very yummy. I enjoyed watching the children enjoy themselves in the kitchen, garden, and at the river. Such a wholesome ,simply, beautiful way of life. Until next time.
I love that you do simple meals with normal ingredients! I have learned more stuff about how to feed my family from your channel than anything else. I love that you repeat things but tell us how to it differently each time with what you have. I had no idea you could use any nut in pesto. Thank you!
Always wonderful to have such great helpers in the kitchen…Johanna is a joy. I have been making tons of ratatouille with all the tomatoes, basil, zucchini, etc. We love it on pasta, on pizza, baked in oven with bread and cheese a gratin, in chili and even as a soup base. Happy Days🌶🍅🍆..Liz😍
The 'fried bread' thing in Hungary is called 'lángos' and it's very popular. ☺️ We make it very often and usually top it with sour cream and cheese. We sometimes top it with nutella or jam.🤤 Love your videos Lisa!
That sounds so good! I live in the states, the maternal side of my family is Hungarian (with some Danish and Finnish) and I’ve been wanting to try to incorporate more of those dishes into my life. Lángos sounds amazing, I need to try it!
You can use dried sage as an anti cough medicine drink...caramelise some brown sugar, pour milk over it, stir well and add some dried sage. Simmer for a couple of minutes. It helps with bronchitis and other similar issues.
The summer clothes Joanna was wearing throughout the video was really cute, does she pick her own clothes?? Sons and daughter helping in the kitchen and vegetable garden done my heart good. My nerves were shot watching your kiddos in the river, I'm not a big water fan, but it's important for kids to learn how to swim. Blessings from Ireland 🇮🇪 🙏 ❤️
I love watching the kids prepare and cook food. They look like they are really enjoying it. They are growing up so fast! You planned a great menu for the week. I would love to see the kids do more pasta making and cooking again. I have always loved watching men cook. I found that sometimes women get stuck cooking the same thing over and over, probably because they have to cook so much for the family. But boys and young men tend to have an imagination, trying different spices or dishes. Most men feel comfortable or content grilling and have a sense of pride in it. Teach your sons, as they begin to get old enough that women find men who can plan and cook a delicious dinner, sexy or attractive.
Spending time with your kids is the most important thing we parents can do. We show them how much we treasure them. Reading Bible stories at bedtime builds their spiritual life. Teach a child very young and they will never forget the way.
Honestly wondering, how do you manage running a household (laundry, farming, gardening, cleaning, raising children, homeschooling) AND cook every meal from scratch? I feel like by the time I cook and clean up a meal, it’s time to start the next one (granted my kids are still “littles” so I do all the cooking). I feel like most of us have to lower expectations in other areas if we want to cook from scratch every meal (I.e. healthy meal served from scratch, but math wasn’t finished, bathrooms didn’t get cleaned or floors swept..🤷🏻♀️). I imagine your husband being home to work with you on those daily responsibilities must make this more doable. So wonderful that you’ve both worked hard to create a great home and life for your family! 💕
that person below is a scam dont fall for it -i did it this morning it is not her they will have your info click name only 20 subs -farmhouse on boone has more
Just turned this on for something to listen to while I made jalapeno poppers , what a coincidence. Jalapeno poppers areso easy and wrap it with turkey bacon for a kosher friendly treat. Shalom from Oklahoma.
Such an enjoyable family centered video, thank you for sharing. I agree with the walnuts, I use them in my pesto all the time. Love the bagels, and the addition of pineapple juice to make your Hawaiian rolls. I just need to finish this video with an affogato!
Lisa, you give this new mom who hasn’t really seen anyone else mother (other than just a few outings, really) a chance to receive that good, old-fashioned teacher: tradition. Thank you for handing down your knowledge! Since my daughter is about the same age as your littlest, I’d love to see a Theo update to see how you do things! (Eg eating, playing, sleeping, etc). Thank you!
Your kids are beautiful! But what is really so special is the phenomenal job you are doing having your kids get an education of a lifetime in the kitchen. They clearly are responsible kids. I have awesome kids but now that they are young adults they have no interest in cooking, which is a shame. Hopefully that will change as they get older. Just think of the skills ur kids will have in their early 20’s. Awesome job!
I do admire you teaching the kids to cook , clean and take care of the chores on the farm.. Never too late!! ☺️
I absolutely love how confident your daughter is in her seasononing choices - so cute!
Kids are more capable then parents think. They can help at a very young age under supervision of course

So proud of the way you are raising your children in the good ways of life!! Is Ruthie still into her sewing? I never see her in the kitchen
