Freelance makeup artist here and I completely agree. I was so confused with this launch. The powders would possibly work for makeup artist but I have more of range with my Fenty and RCMA products.
I didn’t understand why they just made a cream stack for dark-deep complexions.
I saw someone who brought up the idea of having different stacks for different skin tones with blush, bronzer, highlight, contour and have the ability of customizing it too
I will never understand why companies don’t hire someone with a deeper skin tone to perfect their shades/ shade ranges????
I agree. And even if they decide to not hire someone for some reason, why not actually do your research because you genuinely believe in your products and want everyone to be able to wear it?

Beauty Content Creators would’ve done it for free simply to have access to the product for testing.

I’m not sure I understand the concept of the “stack.” Why would I want to pay for shades that I KNOW wouldn’t fit my skin tone?
Plenty of people used to buy contour palettes with shades for a variety of skintones. Same deal here. I don’t understand it either but it does sell.
Ya I hate it! I have a pallate and I only use one! So I don’t buy them I only buy individuals
I guess this would be useful for makeup artists rather than the everyday women.

Maybe their idea is to include both a highlight and a contour shade for everyone? And also for MUAs and professional use as well
I don’t understand why they did “fair to dark” in powder and “med to dark” in creams ?? Why not stacks of 3, fair to light, med to tan, deep to dark in BOTH powder and cream formulas. So depending on your skin tone and preference you can buy one stack. Like are you going to be able to use ALL SHADES in one stack? Idk looking at them as individual shades looks cool but the overall concept is very weird and confusing lol
I think they said that powders can still look ashy on deep skin. She said creams work better as far as getting a proper shade for contour
To me this would have made a lot more sense as a stack that you customize and pick what shades you want/need. Also they need a lot more colors because if it's supposed to cover fair skintones as well, that's waaaay warm for me to use as a contour.
Same! I think makeup brands really struggle to understand how light fair can be. I almost never find my shade in face products.

@@libfuzzy4629 that's where I typically look too, but can't always use the foundation or concealer because they usually only come in 2-3 shades and the lightest shades is too dark for me unless I can get a white mixer that doesn't mess with the formula.
But yeah, even as much of a struggle as it can be for fair skin I know it's a million times worse for dark or deep dark skin.
@@DehydratedHumor wow that's shocking being that alot of asians especially koreans and Japanese people tend to be very pale , yeah it's a huge struggle but I'm glad that beauty brand are making a stride to be more inclusive with shade ranges. Hopefully this problem will subside in a few years
This whole launch from Melt is just very confusing to me. Like, this just doesn't seem like the way to do it. Just release a whole bunch more, but make them all individual shades and let people customise it to suit their own needs! Surely that'd be the most obvious AND effective way of doing this? It just seems unfinished to me, which is unfortunate because it seems like a really nice formula and if they expand it it'd probably be quite successful.
On another note, Nyma is looking especially good this video, that hairstyle, foundation match, eyes, everything! Even more than usual!
A couple months ago Nyma inspired me to make my own beauty channel and i couldn’t be more grateful! Sometimes I get on myself for not growing as fast as I hoped, but when i watch her it reminds me to keep pushing!! Love you so much 🙏🏾♥️

I was very confused about them releasing the powder for different skin tones in one stack. And then the cream just for darker tones. Hopefully they are bringing out a full range for both products .
I saw someone say the did cream for darker skins to avoid the powders giving off an ashy tone. From what they were saying powders are hard to formulate for deep skin tones that aren't ashy. Not sure how true that is.
@@melanieblackstock7218 that would make sense, but the powder stack claims to be for darker tones too.
I’m glad I’m not the only one who was confused about the cream stack being deep only. Most brands only come out with stuff for white people though, so at least they were thinking of dark skinned people. Disappointing the contour didn’t work for you though :(
The brand's owner worked as a professional MUA before starting the brand, and she stated that when it came to contouring the deepest skintones, she would typically have to use powder eyeshadow. However, because many eyeshadow formulas contain light-reflecting ingredients, light would often bounce off, causing the contour to look ashy. She found that the market was lacking an efficient product, so she set out to develop a cream product that would be deep & neutral enough for the deepest skintones. If she failed, it isn't because she didn't try...

Y does everyone seem to think black people have red skin??? Black people come in lots of different undertones. We are BROWN not RED.
I’m white, but I think this literally every time she swatches shades. Like, I have never even seen people with skin that so many of these shades seem to be made for. Like, who is that red??
I agree, lots of products have a red or pink undertone. They never have a good yellow undertone selection.
I think beauty companies don’t do enough research and just make products based on their “preconceptions”... I’m Asian and every makeup counter that I’ve been to automatically recommends me foundations that are warm and yellow. But a lot of asians have cool and pink undertones. I think beauty companies should really start doing research and educate their employees to operate and make recommendations based on “observation” rather than their own internal biases.

I think they worded the product description super confusing. I think the cream is specifically designed for deep to dark skintones, where the powder is designed for more lighter complexions (like Light to the lighter end of dark complexion range)... that's what it's looking like to me, but there's 0 clarity in this lmao.
The Contour shade though Melt needs to make into a foundation for you, cause god when I saw that swatch I had to double take it, cause it blended almost flawlessly.
That deep shade was a beautiful shade for you even though it wasn't dark enough to contour.
