Hey it's been a year but if still interested, u can UV Project it to the Material you add to the hair

I've been trying to apply a texture (cheetah like) to an animated character, but the texture projected is always at the same position, I can't find a way that the hairs has different colour zones, from its birth to the tip... I can add gradients to the roots and randomness, but can't find a way to send the UV or Vertex data to colour from there... do you know how to do it? thank you
