I have always been a huge fan of ASICS shoes. My kayanos were pivotal in my recovery from a calf injury. They have a 10mm drop. The meta speed sky is only a 5mm drop. The edge is an 8mm drop. So I really wanted the meta speed edge Paris - but they didn’t feel a lot different from my trust kayanos. SO I went for the Puma deviate nitro 3’s - because they feel so responsive and amazing. What you said is true - what is right for you. I am only 163cm and small. A tall long striding man would probably need something different. Love your work!! 😊
When putting the shoe on and standing around I have the same feeling. On the run the feeling changes. After a few runs the feeling changes to a supporting feel. I do wish the arch was less there. The previous version did not have them.
@@Fozzee.1970 yes sharp upper on AP3; i try few Asics shoes and all of them have awesome upper; actually never run in Asics but have Sky in box for Chicago.. interesting that bronze medal runner, today, chose Edge over Sky
Gotta put "Sky" in the title 😜 The Edge and Sky are quite different Personally I think the Paris Sky is best for 5-10km. And the Paris Edge is best for half mara - mara. The Edge has that extra comfort, and the Sky is a snappier feel. If I were to run a marathon, I'd wear the Puma Deviate Elite 3 🎉 But I've heard the Nike Alphafly 3 are good for the mara.
@@MR-wh5wp most reviews I’ve read and watched say the plate in the sky is more straight and the the edge slopes down in the front. The black and red detailing in the midsole demonstrate the plate position. Somehow this makes the sky more comfortable for longer distances and the edge better at faster paces. I’m not a shoe expert, just getting into learning the tech in what I’m running in.
@CorGP the fact that the plate curves down in the Edge, means there is more cushioning between your foot and the plate. More cushioning = more comfort. That's also evident in the saucony pro3 and the new Puma Deviate Nitro Elite 3. The more agressive the plate (Paris Sky) - the less comfort you are typically going to have. Have you watched the Believe In The Run review? Meg always prefers more cushioned, comfortable shoes and she preferred the Edge. Whereas Robbie prefers more aggressive, less cushioned shoes and he likes the Sky.
Kudos on the personal and especially very honest review 💪
Way to go!
Thanks for the video! I was wondering these days if I should upgrade my sky+ or not.
Great review. Can we do away with the "average" humble brag names, though? LOL. You are fast AF.
I take this only as a compliment 😁

The review turned out to have a cinematic touch. You will get from watching not just information, but also a mood.

The Edge + was 8mm. The Edge paris is 5mm also
Did you get injured because of the Sky Paris?
Bought these but they give me terrible foot pain in the arch. Sad because they are sooo light and sexy. But i just cant run in them for some reason 😢
I have exactly the same experience!

Favourite marathon shoe as requested: Adios Pro 3 (due to a mix of ride comfort, durability and performance)
imo firm on long runs, sharp upper, tongue too tin
Sharp upper? I don't even notice the one on my Edge Paris. @@markoljustina

I’ve actually heard it’s the other way around.
@CorGP have you tried both of them?
The plate is closer to the foot in the Sky, meaning there is less foam to compress into.
