Today Jo Ann scored her 5th head-to-head match! I was hoping she would get selected this week because she's a very good player, and it gets boring when Richard is chosen all the time. Here's the updated accuracy leader board for the 7 celebs to have scored 3 or more matches so far: Orson - 100% (3 wins in 3 attempts). Betty - 50% (8 wins in 16 attempts). Charles - 42.9% (6 wins in 14 attempts). Jo Ann Pflug - 41.7% (5 out of 12 attempts). Bert - 33.3% (5 wins in 15 attempts). Richard - 28.9% (22 wins in 76 attempts). Brett - 22.2% (4 wins in 18 attempts). *These stats include every head-to-head match from episode 1 through 198, excluding the lost/missing episodes 31, 32, 33.
The regular panelists made fun of Jo Ann Pflug's, intelligence, but she was actually a very smart and very good player, both in the contestant rounds and in the bonus rounds.
@@dmnemaine She purposely opened herself up to be the butt of jokes often, and when those jokes came at her expense she laughed out loud. She was simply being an entertainer, and filled a role on MG. Some didn't like that role, I get it. But if all the celebs were sweet and nice like Betty and Jo Ann, it wouldn't have been as interesting as a show. (I say this as someone who loves Betty White and I've come to appreciate Jo Ann Pflug from her many MG appearances, but Brett and CNR to me are the heart of the show!)
@@kevansf um, it wasn't SUPPOSED to be entertaining. Most of the panelists answered those questions for THEMSELVES not for the contestants. They didn't care about winning for the contestant. As long as THEY got a laugh, that was all that mattered.
Maybe POW was a more obvious answer and he left it for the next pick to say…so he could provide another alternative someone else might not come up with.
ROFL! Another fine episode! ;0) ROFL! Love ya Gene! ;0) ROFL! Love ya Charles! ;0) ROFL! ROFL! Love ya Fannie! ;0) Hope Gene apologize to Fannie for yelling at her, I don't think he was meant to. I think someone else got on his last nerve last episode.. ;0) Brett is a yankee! ;0) Thank you Charles.. ;0) fish.. Who was that person standing just out of camera range as Donna left the stage on the turntable.. ;0) Love the silliness and acting Gene.. ;0) girlfriend.. hat rack which is like a girlfriend.. ;0) The Rockettes would have trouble.. ;0) nite light! toothpick.. Do you know what it is like to be the last one.. ;0) You be sorry Gene.. ;0) Ouch! ;0) hand.. tongue! tie? DOG?! Everyone beat Richard! ;0)
Richard played a prisoner of war for six seasons, and it's Charles that thinks of it.
Yes, it surprised me a bit that "Newkirk" didn't come up with it.
I've heard Richard talking about being on "Hogan's Heroes". He acted like he really disliked the show and his role in it, for whatever reason.
@@deanstrand4260 Pretty sure he was being his usual sardonic self.
Technically, the POWs at Stalag 13 were agents for the underground, not real POWs.
@@deanstrand4260 I think the same. He tried to forget he was a part of it imo
Richard had good taste in clothing like Steve McQueen.
Sharp dresser.
I think the Match Game without Gene Rayburn was tried . It did not survive.
I like the color of his turtle neck.
During the fade:
Gene: "I thank you from the bottom of my heart."
Richard: "I thank you from the heart of my...uh. "
LOL.

I’ve been binging watching one ep of MG each weekday since last September and not going ahead with the plan to finish all of them in April 2031.
2:30 "is there a doctor in the house?"
So now we know. That carousel could turn round the other way.
That had happened a couple times before.
Kind of looked like it stopped at a certain point.
@David Yes, but it never carried contestants from front to back counterclockwise - except in the odd instance such as this.
mosaeisleyYT? You mean the ZoomedInOrangeBox?
There was an episode in '73 where a new contestant was brought out the "wrong way."
12:44 Richard Dawson is a genius!
Jo Ann always looked like a flight attendant to me; but I don't think it was her fault. She couldn't help it.
9:21 Michael's mother - 🎶 a little old lady from Pasadena. 🎶
LOL@Brett, "We're full of something else, but we can't say it on the air."
At least she was honest about it.

4:59 -- Perry Como? James Brown!
Pat Benatar!
Brett: "I'm independently wealthy, I'm an heiress!"
Me: "Yes, and the 'heiress' all in your head!"
What did she mean when she pointed and said, "I wouldn't want him taking care of my kids." Was that a racist comment?
Hee Hee Hee hey Brett I’m a heiress too
How did Richard Dawson NOT answer prisoner of war after playing one on TV for six years?! He was probably kicking himself for that.
He was technically a spy for the Underground on "Hogan's Heroes", and not really a POW.
Maybe POW was a more obvious answer and he left it for the next pick to say…so he could provide another alternative someone else might not come up with.
The Match Game Gift the runner up was usually a Box of Tampons, for the Female Contestants and the Male Contestants would get a Box of Preparation H.
Thank you Starkist as Chalie will say. sorry Charlie
Charlie the Tuna
Seen this before but I'll watch
For "Tight (Blank)", my answer would have been "Tight End".
I totally agreed with Fannie. What’s wrong with people. His body parts?
Grinding up the family pooch isn't a whole lot better!
7:08 Gene called the contestant by the HTH panelist she used….
Very odd that Richard Dawson wouldn't say prisoner-of-war very odd 🧐
only time I can remember a rape reference getting applause on daytime TV
What did Richard actually say? I can't understand it after he says "...and he attacks her"
"and he attacked her, would that be statutory rape?"
Yeah. That was in bad taste.
I think Buzzr cut out the line, I don't remember hearing it when they ran it last week.
ky le I love Richard but I hated the rape jokes he occasionally made. I'm hopeful that he really didn't give much thought to what he was saying.
Mike looks like Rosie Greer
He ran his "shoe" (or boot) through the meat grinder! C'mon, no matches?!
Um no match sorry, thanks for playing along at home.
Panelists:
1. Ron Masak
2. Brett Somers
3. Charles Nelson Reilly
4. Jo Anne Phlug
5. Richard Dawson
6. Fannie Flagg
No matter what she had said for the scuba diver question, she would have lost anyway.
I love how Richard told Brett that she belongs back in the tank.

Nobody reads this shit.
Donna needs to ditch that haircut; she must be out of 4th grade by now.
Lol I agree 💯
Well hers was a little more obvious than others. Lucky. 😊
1:46 -- A blowfish.
Charles' label is driving me nuts! Tuck it in! Or at least take other side out.
I guess wardrobe was on break during the taping.
Fannie's short blouse was an unfortunate choice.
On the episode before this she said nobody likes skinny girls.
@@pencils812 I like Fannie, but looking at he tummy, I wouldn't really call her SKINNY
If the camera adds 10 pounds, she probably was in good shape.
Back when you could say "Rape" in public and not get censored.
