I love Nolan Cassidy's Theme so much. Its so well produced. The bright colors, silly tone, and borderline family-friendly movie villain vibe is a great contrast to the horrible murdering that's about to happen.
Whittleton Creek isn't my personal favorite level, but I totally understand the people who say it's theirs. The best maps in Hitman 2016 / 2 are the ones with the best atmosphere and the most unique targets, and you get two amazing polar opposites in WC. As his music suggests, Nolan Cassidy is the security-obsessed, straitlaced nut who's actually quite funny in how seriously he takes everything; his theme reminds me a lot of Home Alone and other 90's-era movies with mischievous plots and semi-serious villains. He's the perfect compliment to Janus, who is deep and poetic: an ancient man, barely living, and who only seems to enjoy life when he's thinking about the past. He's done so many horrible things and he's so close to dying peacefully - it makes you wonder: just what *is* the point in killing him? Justice has come too late. But, in the end, it must come. His music stresses this, as well as his USSR roots, and it's just beautiful.
i like Janus a lot, because his soundtrack reminds me a lot of the *Cold War Era* tension and what spies did for their goverments, and Janus' music just makes me respect him, because for me, it gives me the sensation of "well done Janus, you are a KGB veteran spy of the Cold War and your a pro, i respect you" its weird, but thats how i feel, just like in COD BO2 when we see old Stg.Woods and reflect "a veteran of the vietnam war and was in the cold war era too
Janus' intense music reminds you that he wasn't always a frail old man, he was once a wicked ussr spymaster who committed atrocious crimes for his masters in pursuit of power. 47 isn't murdering an innocent elderly victim, he's putting a conclusive end to a threat from another time... another life.
and 47 punched the providence logo from his coat and janus grappled him and when you preform on him health check disguised as a nurse he will tell you a story about a boy who when he looked at his eyes he didn't felt but disappointed from him and he was cold when you look at his eyes and that boy is agent 47 i think people will know who will be without thinking about the story old janus is telling
Love the soundtrack of Whittleton Creek than most other maps in the game. The whimsical parts of some of the tracks are great for sneaking around and thinking of a plan to murder Cassidy. Janus' theme however, takes a full 90° turn as the whimsical music beautifully transitions into the hair-raising militaristic/spy thriller theme. Giving that amazing suspenseful piece of music. Thank you for uploading.
This is the downstairs living room. It is most commonly used for watching television and other... 'recreational' purposes. Large room, with two easy to get to exits. Dark floors; hides stains easily. A room with... lots of potential.
Loved Janus' theme and love how everyone else loves it too. Very much reminds me of Silent Assassin. The way it builds up really does psych you up to take him out and gives insight into 47s state of mind.
So is nobody ever going to mention how those three little notes in Janus’ theme (You know, *those notes*) are also in the chorus chants on the Isle of S’gail.
Unfortunately I never managed to find that particular part in game files so I couldn't include it in the Sgàil soundtrack, but you can also briefly hear Janus' leitmotif when you enter the penthouse at the top of the castle.

Just wanna shoutout to creator Salem, really love your work. Really excellent mixing that captures both the dynamism of the music and feeling of the levels wonderfully.
The name of the mission alone can be interpreted so many different ways but the way I like to see it is this is what 47 could’ve been like in another life living in a suburban neighbourhood
"Whittleton Creek, Vermont. On the surface, a picture perfect suburban dream. Wide lawns, golden maple trees and verdant lawns. Most residents here are white collar professionals ranging from university staff to government employees." *"Most... but not all. Janus' unpresuming home is protected by a host of bodyguards, and intel shows that the fragile former constant rarely leaves the property."* "Nolan Cassidy, on the other hand, roams the neighborhood streets. A recent arrival, the dutiful Providence Herald is busy making threat assessments and settling in with his security team." *"Now remember. This is about more than just revenge. Janus is the key to bring down Providence. So get in there and find us a lead."* "Good luck, 47."
Whitteleton Creek is a place I wish I could live at being old and be outside on a chair drinking coffee as I pass away peacefully with my dog licking my hand
My favorite level, the atmosphere, the music, the targets and just the overall vibe I get in general. It takes me into another world completely and I cannot get that with Hitman 3’s levels.
@Salem thank you so much uploading the soundtracks in such a good quality. You have done justice to the awesome music in this game. Just like you, I think this is my favorite soundtrack of the game. Amazing orchestra music. Great composer.
Whittleton Creek 1 and 2 and some parts of Nolan Cassidy sound so Murican its crazy, like the beginning of an 80s film in the suburbs about a family drama
Whittleton Creek is without a doubt one of my favorite levels in the trilogy. It feels very welcoming and familiar, like it's a place you've been before--or maybe that's just me. In my childhood my school was in a neighborhood that looked a lot like Whittleton Creek. With its softly-playing piano and gentle string ensemble, the level is soothing and feels comfortable. It's like you're being wrapped in a warm, comfortable blanket on a chilly autumn day. Like Mumbai, the music very much complements the personalities of the targets. Nolan Cassidy feels very exaggerated; he never drops his stoic and militaristic attitude, and his obsession with security almost borders on paranoia. This in combination with his accompanying music, which is not so much serious as it is bouncy and playful, makes him feel like a dastardly kid's movie villain. He feels like a character from a family-friendly movie that wandered into HITMAN 2 by accident, making even his more gruesome deaths feel goofy, too. Janus is a completely different story. The sudden shift from the soothing music of the streets to the intense, serious music of Janus' house makes you feel like you've just stepped into a relic of the past. Janus _himself_ is a relic of the past. His music reminds you that beneath the appearance of a frail old man is a sadistic, ruthless, and cold person that was once one of the most powerful and influential men on earth, but it also reminds you that those days ended long ago. When you kill him, it feels as though you're putting the past to rest--and giving him the comeuppance he should have gotten a long time ago. Fun fact: Janus' theme plays in Thornbridge Manor in the Dartmoor Garden Show! Fitting, due to the Carlisles connection to Providence. It also plays when you're in the treehouse behind the vacant house. It made me giggle the first time I noticed, because this really intense music was playing while I was casually observing the garden party from a kid's treehouse.
@@matttheheckingweeb3462 it's probably because a lot of popular American kids movies from the 80s and 90s took place in the suburbs and had a similar look and soundtrack to the one used in Whittleton Creek. Also Desperate Housewives has a VERY similar soundtrack. As for Blood Money, it's pretty dated now but worth a look, especially for the suburbs level
2:43 Really quite interesting how the Nolan Cassidy theme brings to mind the Desperate Housewives theme - and I can see bit of resemblance with the kind of neighbourhood vibe as well! That's cool haha 😆
I'm really starting to see the poetry in how some of these destinations are put together. Like how there are parallels between Cassidy and Janus's life and position in the world, but it feels like Janus was far more dangerous and effective in his active years than Cassidy could dream of being.
I am here for Janus theme, because it's probably the closest soundtrack in the new Hitman series to the Jesper Kyd style, which shaped the Hitman for many people. At least, that's how I take it.
