Greensboro has the highest crime rate in North Carolina and also the most dangerous. Winston Salem has a very high poverty rate and again one of the most dangerous.
I’ve been living in Greensboro for almost 8 years now and I’ve never been a victim of a crime here so it depends on what part because just like every city it has it’s good parts and bad parts and I’m fortunate that I’m still okay.
There have been so many comments on this thread about HBCUs so I thought it would be helpful to provide some more information for those who need it. There are 12 Historically Black Colleges in North Carolina. Since lots of different people watch my content I try to provide a variety of information that appeals to everyone while still keeping the videos short enough that ya’ll want to listen to my boring self for at least most of it! 😂 So I only had time to mention 4 HBCUs in this video. That was in no way intended to slight any group of people. If you need a list of HBCUs you can find the complete list of 12 colleges here: www.ncpedia.org/education/hbcu

That's actually a really small town. It's about an hour from Asheville and a little more than an hour from Gastonia. I haven't visited there so I can't really answer your questions. The culture in North Carolina is generally pretty friendly. Tornados are rare here. I've experienced two in the last 21 years.
There isn’t time to talk about everything and this video isn’t about colleges. My viewers aren’t college students looking for colleges so an exhaustive list of the available universities isn’t really applicable to my channel.
The population changed. It’s about people interested in transplanting here. I attended WSSU and proud alumni of Fayetteville State so growing up in the state the hbcus are more emblematic to what the states means but with all the growth and changes I wouldn’t be surprised if the visage of these institutions were eventually eliminated. Basically these folks ain’t checking for anything remotely close to what we may deem as important land, arks to these towns
@@EllenPitts I did, and didnt. The work was not there, but I did get some construction type jobs, and did well enough to earn money for college.. The apartments, were ok, but not great. We did move out, to the country, but it can be a little "too country", an hour north of Winston-Salem. My brother, hates Winston-Salem, but loves being in Blue's Creek. Him and his wife inherited land years ago, in that area. My father, left Winston-Salem for Burlington, years ago, and never looked back. Dad did feel something weird about Winston-Salem, since that's where his first marriage fell apart. He would go there, and get out. I was in Winston-Salem, while I tried to earn more money for college, as I took a semester off. There is no college in Winston-Salem, that's good and affordable, and that's perhaps the greatest downfall. The schools in Burlington, were not great either.
