Eggs at WM are 60 for $6.30~ they were down to $5 last week! I know you don't buy them, but the community might want to know! I'm so glad you started using pantry item with these videos since most of us have them. I've never reused oil even though I think the taste of French fries from the bowling alley are the best and they NEVER change their frying oil 🤣🤣🤣!
My momma used to strain the oil and then refrigerate French fry oil. She would usually use it 3 times, then start over with new oil. Refrigerating the oil kept it fresher and it didn’t go rancid. Miss my moms homemade fries.😢
@@theshepherds2846 Most Mama's foods are the best. Love my Mama dearly, but she never was a good cook!
@@theshepherds2846 I do same with oil it just makes since it’s still good never had a problem ❤
Hi Angel girl and your family ❤ God bless you all 💕 Have a blessed day 😇 Love you guys 😇🥰😇
If there are no peanut allergies, peanut oil lasts the longest. I've never actually had it go bad be for it needs to be changed (I'm talking a couple months), i in my fryer and I store it in a lower cabinet. Just a thought to share ♡
Watching you over this last year, it's amazing how much your boys have grown, Ryder especially looks so grown up
Your a sweet mama that provides well for your family 👪 ❤️. You teach me living on a budget can be done 😊 your boys and hubby are so loved by you ❤️. Enjoy watching your videos.
Brooke, I absolutely love your videos. Thank you so much! I have always been the “worst cook” in my family. Now I feel like you have helped me to understand general cooking skills, and how to trust my gut on modifications for my tastes. Somehow now I am the cook and everyone jokes at family cookouts how I was the worst and now I am the best. It’s a good feeling to have some self esteem!
I just got a family pack of chicken drums, 3 roma tomatoes and a english cucumber for $7.18, I’ve learned from you 🎉😊
I'm in Murfreesboro Tennessee and you cook like I did when my children were little, I called them kill a hunger meals. Watching you and Rusty remind me of those times. Prevent Hunger ❤❤❤
You're such a good mom and wife! ♡
Beautiful mom. Beautiful family
10:29 Sprinkling sugar on the toast as it cooks is a good idea!
I enjoy when Brayden taste tests the food. When he enjoys something his eyes get wide with a surprised look on his face. Brooke, you really look good with your hair cut short like that. ❤️
Thank you! I had to cut off those dead ends lol
Totally agree!! I love your children's taste tests!! Especially Brayden!! I also went the opposite end of welcoming my grays- I said, after almost 2 years and finally looking at myself in the window of Aldi,yeah..who are you? We don't know who your are and this has got to go!! Went to my hairdresser and she was in her glory, she's like girl, WE GOT THIS!! I attend my virtual meetings now with confidence!! I guess I wasn't ready to go gray!!
The butts of bread are my favorite! I'll keep the first piece in the bag until I get to the end of the loaf... and Brooke... lemme tell you. The BEST bologna sandwich in the world is made with the bread butts!
Omg I say the same thing lol it's my favorite..
You have such good ideas. Im going to try apples that way! I love how sweet you are with your family and how sweet they are with you.
I love the idea of making syrup from an apple!
Brooke you are just plain ingenious and awesome!!❤
Your haircut is gorgeous your food looks delicious but the best thing ate those kind well mannered boys. Youdid an awesome job on raising those boys
Great grocery hauls and delicious recipes😊
Bray has spouted up sooo quickly lately!!
He has! His doctor said the way he’s going, he’ll be over 6ft
@@SouthernFrugalMomma for sure!!
I had no idea what direction you were going in , but wow you are impressive! ❤️
I just found your yt and I already love you. ❤ I only saw 2 video's but i already enjoy them. Not only for the food, but you all seem like a lovely family. I love how you let your family taste the food first and let them be honest on how it tasted. Boy i got a lot of catching up to do . Lovely family 🥰❤
You can add a little cornstarch glue to the apple compost to thicken up the syrup. It helps stretch it cuz you don’t need as much.
Love your hair. Even though my kids are grown I use so many of your ideas as I am retired. A challenge is fun! I have chickens too. All have names of course. Using pantry items is great. We always have a variety of spices and oils and such. Like that the fellas taste the meals. Love that they are involved. I used to cook a big chicken casserole with one chicken breast for the 5 of us. Stretching and adding soup and more. Poultry seasoning helped. Take care.
I am happy you included eggs. They are a cheap source of protein and so versatile. Thanks for sharing your vido.
Y’all are amazing!! Thank you for sharing these great ideas! 💜💜
Bloomin heck Brooke, that was live the five loaves and fishes.
Well done👍🙏
Your family is so sweet!
So well done! Its truly magical how much you can stretch a buck Brooke! Thanks for doing these. One of my favorites that you do!
Brooke, I like your hair. I like the way your husband helps you and cares for you.
We always use water with the egg mixture for french toast.....I actually combines better than milk.....
Love your videos. I just went 5 days with no power from a wind storm. Lost everything in fridge and freezer
How we just gonna gloss over Brooks new hair??? Looks great ❤
Thank you!
That fruit compote is a great idea! Mom and I are watching our sugar intake and our wallets, but sugar free syrup is SO expensive! But we always have Spenda for coffee and tea and we almost always have apples and even get those and other fruit from the food bank, so a sugar free fruit compote would be much cheaper alternative. Thank you so much for this idea!
The other night I fixed spaghetti and eggs for supper. We have a overstock of eggs, even though we donate most of them to the food kitchen.
Took me 28 years to get my husband to try it but now he likes it, God love him.
How is this being prepared? I'm interested. Are you doing on over easy on top of pasta, a carbonara, something else? I love the idea of egg with rice or pasta as a budget saver, and would love to have more ideas. Thanks.
Wow that french toast looked good. Those open face sandwichs looked good too. Well It all looked good. May have to try the open face sandwiches for breackfast in the morning. Yall take care.
Love the haircut! I would like to see a video using some m I re oantry items that we should all have on hand, like rice, beans and oatmeal. Imagine using that little bit if meat with your rice and homemade gravy! In Arizona we eats lots of nexican food. Knowing how to make tortillas is a lifesaver.
Brooke: We don't eat breakfast.
Also Brooke: ::makes breakfast for lunch and dinner in one day::
lol
Breakfast is good any time of the day… lol
Lol, just because you don't eat breakfast doesn't mean you dislike breakfast foods. Every Wednesday night here is hot cereal night. Economic and tasty. We add a little powdered peanut butter for extra protein
@@christines2787 Oh, I know. It's just hilarious to have the video start out like that and end up where it did.
@@lynnhager7763 It absolutely is. My son decided at 4 p.m. Sunday that we needed to do a full English breakfast for dinner. Do you know how hard it is to find English sausages in Pittsburgh on a Sunday afternoon? Impossible.
Breakfast foods are delish 😂 just not in the mornings.
saw another vlog (from CA--the woman is also brilliant): she fixed meals for one person for 5 days for $5 (15 meals); her base food for the week was a loaf of zucchini bread; she bought flour and sugar and used that for bread, tortillas, biscuits, and papusas (sort of a savory donut with savory filling), she used baking powder from her pantry; you can do a lot with flour--just plain flour (and you do not have to be some amazing bakery artist--it is really pretty easy)...dts/usa
yes, the girl from CA who does 5.00 for one person for 5 days is Ardent Michelle
I also always keep tea bags on hand (no soda) and I drink one or two cups all day long (no sugar)--but I put orange peals and rose petals (or hybiscus petals in the cups)...there is a vlog from the middle east and they put all kinds of flowers in their teas to flavor them (when they brew them with loose tea)...it is amazing! and healthy...dts/usa
8:32 "Butts of bread!" 😂 I love it! I use them, too!
I like that u are creative in feeding your family, it is such a help having a garden &chickens!!❤
Love your videos, you have given me lots of ideas for cooking and we have the same Pioneer woman insta pot. I love all her products!
Amazing what you can do with $5! Love your channel and content. I like to buy powdered milk/buttermilk. You just add water and you've got what you need for baking or casseroles, soups, etc. Keep up the good work!
For Father’s Day I made pancakes and bacon. Served homemade raspberry syrup - it was a hit!
I appreciate these so much. I live alone & you always give me good ideas that don’t cross my mind. Tfs
Too precious, "your not going to hurt my feelings." Answer. "Really?" 😆🥰
He is my little protector lol
He’s the one that would fight somebody if they hurt me emotionally or physically 😂
I love your haircut Brooke looks really nice on you. Good job on your meal everyone was happy.
I always love Brayden's reactions
Try sprinkling the spices on the top of dipped bread after it’s on the griddle.
You can also premix the spices and sugar in a shaker jar. Try apple pie spice, pumpkin pie spice or invent your own blend!
I also like vanilla in French toast
Yesterday we bought a newer vehicle 😁
You got your hair cut! It looks cute!! French toast is the bomb!! I love breakfast for any meal.👍
My dad's family was from the Penn Dutch area and we would have apples and dumplings (Schnitz Un Knepp) and we would cook the apples with cinnamon, water and a little sugar or molasses and add diced up smoky ham and made small drop dumplings. a short cut version is to skip the dumplings and cook the mixture down more and have it over toast or leftover biscuits or rolls. simple but good. I also will dice up the apples and cook like you did for your french toast and add nutmeg and ground ginger with the cinnamon and have over french toast for breakfast or over toast or leftover white cake or even biscuits and it's like a warm apple pie dessert or treat.
Hi Brooke this is Sue, my hubby loves egg and ham sandwiches like this, keep up the great brain work on inventions, love from Canada
Absolutely love the hair! Enjoy watching your videos😊
I like the idea of the fruit. Your short hair is really cute on you❤️
Oh my gosh. I just realized you cut your hair. It looks really good. At first I thought the difference was the color then realized it’s shorter. 😁
Your videos make me smile. Thank you 💜
LOVE the new haircut! ❤😊. Eggs $1.15 @ my Aldi yesterday. You go girl!
If you want a thicker syrup, put the core and apple peelings in the water first and bring to a boil for a few minutes. Remove and then add your sugar and apples and reduce to a simmer until your apples are tender and it is as thick as you want. The core and peeling contain high levels of pectin which helps to thicken and is used in making jams and jellies. You can even do this and then add other fruits or fruit juice and reduce to make a refrigerator jelly or jam using white sugar This is a great way to make jelly out of canned fruit such as apricots, pears, or peaches. However, you can also use this method and then add apple juice or grape juice to make a quick jelly. Just add about 2 cups of juice and reduce by half or so. It will thicken more as it cools. For canned fruit, I like to do this in small one or two can batches and it will keep in the fridge in a covered container for around 3 weeks. It is a good way to use apple cores and peelings you might otherwise just throw away.
My Dad is 93 and loves it when I make stewed apples or peaches for breakfast. You are so right. 1 apple goes a long way. I really like this meal plan. Nutritious, flavorful, filling and appealing. Well done. Of course you always do such a great job.
My Dad is 93 also, today I brought him chocolate frosted brownies. He said he would get good use out that. I was bringing him to an appointment this morning. His freezer is full of healthy meals, but he likes his sweets. 😊 Enjoy your Dad!
One apple stretches soooo far! It’s amazing!
Nice job! The french toast was a good idea for stretching the dollar and your apple compote was creative! That was a meal for everyone for about $2! (You might want to oil your griddle a little and not use a metal spatula on teflon.)
I appreciate any struggle meal inspiration. You’re delightful!😊💜
I love your haircut, looks good on you!
Also your knife skills are so cool. I haven’t learned that yet!
Your hair looks great with the cut.
All looks great!!!! Your hair cut is cute Ms Brooke ❤❤❤❤
11:01 I imagine the compote is also has more nutrients than syrup because you started with fresh fruit.
This is the way I make mine Eggs mixed up quick dunk fry longer the you think before you flip pour extra egg mixture on top. Then tons of butter and syrup. No more mushy bread
Love you sweet girl
If i dont have maple syrup or fruit I simmer equal parts sugar and water until thickened and add whatever extract I have on hand.
Generally its going to be vanilla or almond. Pancakes eith lemon juice and powdered sugar works too
At work today, my afternoon snack consisted of a peanut butter "sandwich" made from premade frozen pancakes in my work fridge, and the jar of peanut butter that regularly lives on my desk top.
I love when you share your family trying your dishes ❤️ you’re so REAL! I enjoy your videos greatly!
also, one of the cheapest meats out there is brkfst sausage (little links--sliced up) and one woman cooked it with cubed potatoes and topped with fried eggs...pretty easy and cheap--and that goes a long way (you can eat on it for about 4 meals (one person)--it fills up an entire skillet (also, can serve it over a biscuit--yes, made from flour and water and butter if you have it)...dts/usa
Looks good. I had French toast with strawberries and whipped cream this morning.
LOVE your new hair cut and color!
I'm pretty new here, and I've been binge watching some videos. I really enjoy your creativity with low budget meals. Never ever wouls have thought 2 apples and 2 bananas cut uo into slices would lake so much! And I've never ever tried fried apples and bananas and it looks amazing. When I need tonstretch a dollar I like to also do breakfast for dinner. It is so cheap and so good because I never get to eat a big breakfast, so it is a nice treat for dinner (or lunch).
Love your videos Your hairstyle looks great on you. 😊
I think alot of us like to peel by hand thats how we were taught growing up lol .. I just want to say thank you this video helped me out big time seriously big time .❤❤❤❤
Thank you baby. Love the hair. Praying daddy had a great fathers day.
Love your channel and your new haircut😊😊
Love the new hair do.
Brooke, your hair looks gorgeous. I make blueberry compote for pancakes and french toast (makes me feel fancy😊).
the only complaint I have. is using the metal spatula on the nonstick griddle. my soul.
Love your haircut😊
I Pick Up at Walmart & go in Publix for my Fridge/ Freezer Items.
Homemade blueberry syrup is awesome on pancakes or French toast
I never thought of cooking French toast on a griddle. We have a built-in one in the kitchen. I think we used it for hamburgers once.
Breakfast foods at non-breakfast times are the best! Yummy!
Brooke your shopping and meals are so helpful to me i have 41.00 until July 1 im going to Aldis and i am going to stretch that 41.00 the way you have taught us all to do
I love your haircut!
Just found your channel and I'm loving your videos!!
Wow, I did not know you could add water to the eggs,,,, thanks for sharing
That's so funny because I didn't know people use milk instead of water lol. When she said did you know you could use water instead of milk I was like wait what milk hmmm lol❤
So, you actually only spent $3.50 for an emergency meal plan for one day. Pretty darn good!
With 3 dozen eggs in my fridge, I think French toast (extra to go in freezer with some bkfst burritos) will go on my Wednesday menu plan. Taco Tuesday today😊..
I totally agree with you about the peelers. I hate those things. A little knife works so much better and faster. Loved the apple syrup idea!
8:54 Using an electric griddle is smart since right now electricity is cheaper than gas.
When I was growing up, my Mama didn't waste (9 kids), she made apple jelly from the apple peelings....
Sounds Yummy 😋
I have apple scrap jelly in my pantry! It’s so good!
I do the same. And, one batch didn’t set - different apples have different levels of natural pectin. The unset batch is a delicious apple syrup.
Grandma did this. Best ever .
Lovin the new do!
I add about a tablespoon of sugar to the mixture and sprinkle powdered sugar on top. Yummy
These look yummy Brooke. I'm going to try these. Y our hair looks cute. See you next time.
Love your hair 💜
You have a beautiful family ❤
Love your hair!!❤
I just love your channel so much
Your hair cut is so cute Brooke!
I like your new do! Very attractive.
