  • I got into the polytunnel and finally finshed up the irrigation setup. I also planted a couple of the leftover hydro plants into the raised beds in the polytunnel. Now lets hope for the weather to start getting a lot warmer!

    Just a tip for cutting pipes with the tool at 1:40, If you just press so the tool is contacting the pipe lightly and than rotate the pipe, it will create a clean cut without deforming the end of the pipe due to the pressure of the tool. (If that explanation makes any sense)

    I only got introduced to your channel about a week ago and I'm already up to about 10 videos, i think i'll gradually see all of them! Your videos-concept, presentation, music, cutaways, everything is just SO professional, it's disgustingly high quality. From comments on other videos it sounds like your subscriber numbers are currently growing exponentially i.e. BOOMING. Well done man! I'm a chilli head but I've always been a passive enjoyer of chilli - i have always just bought pre-made chilli products and never actually made anything of mine. I'm so inspired by your videos right now! I'm going to make your chilli ketchup recipe soon, and I can't wait!

      Thank you, that is very kind of you to say! I am always trying to improve. I don't always get it right, but as long as I make even a small improvement each time then I am happy!

      @@ChilliChumpIt absolutely shows in the quality of the videos, and i think what really shines through is your passion for chilli and just how much fun you're having in the process - you can really see that the cameras are just another facet of your chilli adventures, and that there's not even the slightest doubt you'd still be doing all this even without youtube. For us viewers it feels like we're getting a little peak in to your world of chilli and it's just so enjoyable to be apart of that, so, thank you! It also cracks me up in a good way when I read other comments saying they don't even like chilli but they still love watching your videos, haha! I hope that alone makes you feel good.

    PEPPERS, PEPPERS AND MORE PEPPERS! my goal this year! So i'll be watching ya ALOT Plus tomato' s 😎 Hydra grow is very Expensive! > The pellets cost a bundle Then the pumps, light , electricity, and things VERY VERY COSTLY! I do germinate my seeds indoors, until there about a foot tall! So its out doors in raise beds or pots in soil for me!

  • @aronmcintosh8000

    I got an aero garden for Christmas and now got some ripe tomatoes.
    They OK not very sweet but I was not surprised. I read that hydroponics is gr8 for starting seeds but best to transplant into the soil.
    So will be very interested in how yours turn out?
    Dose it affect the flavour and heat? 🤔 Please do an experiment on that. All the best

      Hi Aron, I have a couple plants that are the same variety in both hydro and soil, because I am also interested to see what the difference in taste will be. If the flavour isn't as good in hydro, then I will stick to soil

    really enjoying all of your videos. I was wondering if this type of irrigation would work well at low pressure? I have a large poly tunnel and the temperatures during the summer regularly get into the high 30s, how have you found growing in a poly tunnel compared to your greenhouse? thanks again for the videos!

    • @ChilliChump
      @ChilliChump  5 років тому +1

      The flow rate is probably more important than pressure. In the polytunnel I have 50 drippers at about 8l per hour. So that is about 6.6 litres per minute for all 50. As long as you have a pump (or gravity system) that can provide that volume of water then you should be fine. Pressure plays a part too of course...you want to have around 25/30 PSI.

    I noticed that you not really using soil. What did you plant the Naga in? Great video buddy.

    • @ChilliChump
      @ChilliChump  5 років тому +2

      I don't use soil at all...it is all compost. Although with the raised beds, it will be a new challenge next year keeping them nutrient rich.

    Have you tried removing the root bound hydro pots under water? Whenever I'm untangling roots from small plants, I find that letting the roots swim helps keep them from sticking to each other. Maybe it'll help you work them out of the pots?

      Hey Adam. The greenhouse is holding temperatures a little higher than the polytunnel at the moment at night. And a few degrees higher than outside. Seeing it at around 2-5 Celsius at night in the greenhouse. Around 0-4 Celsius in the polytunnel at night. Up in the 30's during the day though
