I've just subscribed to your channel. I am about to buy a 6x3m polytunnel, as the climate in Northern Spain (British weather over here) isn't great for growing tomatoes and melons. Now I am setting up a drip irrigation system, putting up a couple of 1000 litre containers for next season!
Fabulous video! Thanks for sharing! I'm going to have a polytunnnel for the first time this year and have no clue what will do well in summer without burning to a crisp. Mine is three feet shorter than yours but it wll still be nice to have.
Lovely video, very useful. I am just in the process of clearing a bramble covered allotment hopefully by Christmas so looking at polytunnel options. Many thanks.
Your comments are spot on. I have a 24x7m PT and there are challenges throughout the year that require a refined approach for the same crop. I still make a lot of mistakes every year but its fun learning. Great video.
Wow beautiful 😍 I got my allotment yesterday, it needs a lot of love, It's my first ever time, I am wondering for now till next year, creating an amazing space to grow my fruit and vegetables for next year.
Thank you! You may like to see the new free app on the website to help plan your growing, allotmentbook.app/, and these starter guides: www.allotmentbook.co.uk/allotment-starter-guides/.
Yeah I've had mine fir 1 year, am trying to figure what goes best, I'll be following your videos, thanks, also I think I didn't get my bed soil mixes right for the crops
Great video, very informative and well presented. Really enjoyed to see what you grow and the enjoyment you must get when growing and harvesting. Keep up the good work.
Loved this! I love my polytunnels too I have three of them. I hope this year (if health isn’t an issue this year, grow through winter in my garden tunnel at least. It will be my first time doing this. It makes sense to me as it is laying empty through the cold months here in Dublin (Ireland) I was just looking at Inca berry seeds yesterday I think I will give them a go this year too! Fabulous with a good cheese or with a pavlova wreath 🙌 and they are expensive to buy here!
Yes love to see videos on PT as a beginner gardener I’m overwhelmed by all info out there. Nip this, watch out for that etc 🤪Month by month would be good. So far I’ve got 6 Tom plants, marigolds , cucumbers aubergine radish all from seed…hoping for the best
Newbie here. Just aquired an allotment with two polytunnels. Looking forward to learning more about growing in them. Question... Will Florence Fennel grow best in a polytunnel or no? Thanks x
Good presentation and nice growing u doing a good jon in the tunnel.i just found your channel .i;ll tune in more.i just got a 26X10 high tunnel so i cant wait to fill it up...thx alot....
I didn’t know cuttings could be taken from cucumbers ,, might try this,I have a 10X15 poly on my allotment that I had in lockdown,, great investment and i love it ,, thinking of getting another , best wishes,, Lisa
Thank you for your comment! Yes, I didn't know it would work either until I tried it, and it worked just like tomatoes (ie taking cuttings from an elbow between leader stem and branch).
@@AllotmentBook have you tried over wintering tomato cuttings? I have a spare cool box room that I use ,, take cuttings in Sept and they just tick over all winter ,, with not much waterIng and they do look a little bedraggled due to the low light levels,, I then take further cuttings in March and I haven’t had to buy any Sungold f1 for about 4 years now ,,I get tomatoes about 3-4 weeks earlier this way than sowing seeds too ,,
@@lisag9493I live in South Wales, I have grown tomatoes outdoors and taken cuttings halfway through the summer so they're well established by autumn, in my unheated conservatory I had fruits ripening all through the winter and into the following spring (far less than peak summer yield of course but I was amazed). I think a polytunnel would be similar.
