Wow, you are so clever, the irrigation system is fantastic, I cannot believe you did it all on your own. It is going to save you so much time 👏👏👏🎉🎉 Bravo!
Fabulous Benny I love having a water system that is just plug and go. Only thing and it shouldn’t be an issue now but you have to drain them all before freezing days come. Look at you in bloody shorts it’s absolutely pouring down rain and high winds this weekend . Have a super week Benny, Jackie ☔️☔️☔️🇨🇦
@@TheGrowUpChannel yep and not to be a downer but remember that you also have to lift all the hoses whenever you have to top up the beds 🤦♀️ nothing easy about being a gardener
At last ! It’s in the can (badum tish 🥁) I would love to have so much to water that i have to re-watch this video twenty times to be able to apply the knowledge to my own little efforts. She’s a 21st century plot …. little doors pun. Well done 👨🌾🥬🌶️🍅🫑🧅
@@TheGrowUpChannel i spend too much time alone in the garden, plants are a great audience, never judgey 👍🏻👍🏻😁😁 Today i am experimenting with cabbage seedlings. An accidental experiment, i sowed a tray and left in the back on my little greenhouse and now they are a spaghetti like mess. Hoping to rescue and liberate as many as possible. 🤞🤞🤞
I love the set up and have done this myself but don't want to dampen your work as I found good old fashioned watering can worked better for me - great video and thank you
Whoop, whoop 🎉🎉🎉. Love it. I love to water the garden, it makes me focus on plant health an check for problems, but there are times I wish I had an auto set-up. I found some rutabaga seeds from 2021 in my stash today. I’m going to sow them tomorrow and see what’ll happen. That will give me 3 varieties on the go. #swedabagachallenge2023.
I like to have a little gaze at the beds when i’m watering too but that’s more about decompressing than checking on plant health. You are a way better gardener than me. I am happy to stand with my hose at home but as my field set up expands this will be ideal. Good luck with your rutabaga’s, i have always wanted to try to grow them. Can you recommend an online place to get some seeds for them ?
Good morning Danny, we had a soaker hose under the surface in our front garden for over 20 years and never had a problem, think your better off burying it to be honest, get those roots looking for water 👍
Great system set up there Danny.....you made it look so easy!.....I am definitely looking to get some off grid irrigation in my polytunnel this summer, as I am away for long periods at a time with work! It's made me think I need to sort that now....thanks! Will
good short but sweet video. i guess it is how you get the hose through the poly without causing issues to the polythene. still gonna water by hand as am home every evening to water in the warmer months. yes i hear you all saying water in the morning but I cant get up earlier than 5.20am when I get ready for work and avoid the dreadful traffic later than 7am!
Wowza, I am too gobsmaked to even know what to think, holy cow!!. And here is me with my (15) 2 1/2 gallon watercans distributed all over my garden, in my hoophouse, tomato house, mini vinyl 'greenhouse' and up on my veranda...and my 100' hose. 😏
Wow that’s quite a set up. I guess the way of the world today inevitably the old watering can gets retired off for some people. I guess I still a bit old fashioned and think although we have a big plot 3 plots in one now we will always use the good old watering can at least you can see how much you watering and how often. There’s nothing more relaxing on the plot than getting out the old watering can. I can see the ve or system is working very well for you and I hope it does the trick for you and it was free wasn’t it? Take care👍🙋🏻
Hey Mandy! Oh I use the watering can in the tunnel on my days off. I have a few cans. But with a fullime job, I'm in university too and filming /editing / a social life. I struggle on times. So a quick press of a button to hydrate the tunnel so I can spend an hour with friends for a meal. It's a god send! But you can't beat a "me time" day at the plot with no cameras or time restrictions. Danny 😊🌱
It looks fantastic Danny and will save hundreds of hours of watering, I was looking into the Solar powered pumps but there so pricey but another hose pipe ban and dry spell like last year will break me this time round😭. Great video👍.
I have a video about a greenhouse irrigation system..think it's called gamechanger..last July.. maybe. They are pricey! BUT I will say... last summer I didn't water once in that greenhouse and I had amazing tomatoes all summer
Some of the cheaper soaker hoses dont lik being bent and snap. Please be aware. Loving the new garden. Maybe more than the grape vine. Bit more space. Youve worked so hard. Surprised to see shorts & sliders !
Hi Danny i have one of the Bosch 18v pumps. I got it last year, bloody brilliant. We have only wells around our site, so it has been a godsend. Do you use any 18v battery in it?. it doesnt look like the bosch battery I have that came with it. it would be handy if I could use my drill ones too
hi danny after watching this video i have just bought the Bosch Cordless Submersible Water Pump GardenPump 18V-2000 (1x Battery, 18 Volt System and when i redo my poly tunnel i will be doing the same,so thank you👍
Apologies for the small echo. My editing software (which wasn't cheap).. is playing up. Enjoy the video . Danny 🌱
Thank you thank you thank you you you you you 🤣
Frustrating I know!
No worries worries 😊
Never plain and simple is it Laura haha
I bet you’re chuffed to bits, watching the water trickling into your bed! Ahh absolutely wonderful!

I hope so. Thanks Roo 😄

Oh really! I didn't think of that! Glad you said! I'll be mindful of that on autumn. Haha got to flash the legs Jackie! 😂

I'll top the beds up in autumn when I take the hoses up to drain :)
Great set up! Will make your life so much easier. Now you can spend more time enjoying your gardens without the chore of needing to hand water.
That's the plan! It will even be handy to press the button & then carry on gardening while they are having a slow soak of water inside. Danny 🌱
Yay that's fantastic Danny.
Thank you Cheryl. 😊 🌱

I agree. I love watering too & will do so.. but this system is more when I don't have the time . Oh great Robin! What variety is it ?
The variety is American Purple Top an heirloom rutabaga. Don’t know how you manage 2 plots, work and uni.
Haha I know. Madness how I fit all that in, plus a life
Hi Danny, this is sooooo fab! Got me thinking about what I can do on my plot......😊
Haha thanks Gemma..hes with me now and said thank you lol
That’s a great system Danny and so easy to use. Great job
Thanks Emma! It wasn't too complicated and I have a few things to try!

I found that if you make the soaker hose into a loop with connectors it makes it more even
Just run it straight from the ibc with a timer and you don't need the bosch pump I just use the bosch pump for the hose pipe
Cheers Paul. I'll look into that. Danny 🌱
Wow that’s going to be so
Much easier for you. And hey in shorts t shirt and thongs must nearly be summer. Rain rain here kind grey and dismal.
I bust out laughing at your comment. Thongs mean something completely different here ans I assure you I won't be wearing a thong on the plot 😂 Danny 🌱
Hi, this maybe a stupid question but where does the water go when the pump is on, and all the valves are closed off? Thanks.
Thats okay :) The Water goes nowhere unless a valve is open. 😊
