The cold...dark, bone chilling aura that this song gives you truly reflects the harsh lifeless environment these American soldiers had to deal with in Normandy. God bless these men that gave up their freedoms to protects their neighbors freedom. I will never forget these sacrifices. Truly saddening.
THE RUINER not only american, the British, canadian, dutch, polish, french, belgian, russian, and so many more united those years. All to rid out the evil and liberate those consumed by it.
My great grandfather on my moms side served at Iwo Jima and his brother served at Normandy. Their bravery shall always be remembered my great grandfather is still alive today and only recently has he opened up on what happened on that little island in 1945.
It’s a barbaric story. Brutality in its purist form. Some men carry that burden to the grave. The inner beast uncaged; when surrounded by unfettered rage. Some people don’t want to admit they smiled when they killed a man. And that smile never faded. It’s not the joy of taking life. Not even the joy of killing an enemy. It’s joy, stopping someone who sought to take away your chance to go home and hold your lover in your arms again. To see your mother again. It’s joy that even in hell you still get to soldier on toward the sunset.

I've played this game again recently and I realized I had forgot a lot about it. One thing that came back immediately, however, was the music. The atmosphere they manage to set in a war game is second to none in my memory.
The atmosphere is amazing but really hard to explain. I don't know it might just be me; or I'm an idot who dosen't know that any atmosphere is hard to explain. One or the other

My WWII family friend past away a couple of days, and in my sorrow, I was drawn to this song, and I can't help feel mixed emotions. I'm proud he served our country and lived to be 93 years, sad that he passed away, yet happy he will be with his wife again. I remember this from my childhood and it sums up all of my feelings
Its a damn shame that the childhood of the modern child will be spoiled by what Battlefield, and especially Call of Duty have become, there is just no soul being put into games anymore, and someone needs to act fast, if not... Well, you get what happens. EA fell into the trap when they converted MoH to the modern era, it literally Killed our favourite series :(
ww 2 era MoH, can't go wrong (frostbite 3+ D-Day anyone?), however, the "medal of honor" part is a little bit gone with the recent MoH's (*cough warfighter cough*) they need to bring it back to it's roots
First shooter I ever played. Dad bought it back when he used to play video games. I found it separate from my other games and popped it in the ps2 one day and was instantly hooked. It starts off peaceful. Then gets dark and sad as if it is the war is effecting the men, the world. Then it is like the camaraderie of the men push through the tragedy and end in glory, peace and light. Like the war is over and it is time to go back home and rebuild the nation. Beautiful.

What a brilliant comment! this game and the soundtracks to me mean so much, it takes me back to a time when I was a happy child, I’d get home from school and play this with my father! we’d play it for hours, so much happiness I love every part of the game
This soundtrack is legendary. I remember I was around 12 and I first heard this. Wow, simply amazing. I remember the first mission on that boat on D-DAY. Damn it really gave some thoughts how terrible it must have been being there.. Poor souls.
I miss this game so much too, the songs totaly match with gameplay in some maps. This game had an outstanding play time and history. They could build up games like this to the new generation...
Playing WW2 games like this gives me the idea that I'm getting closer to my great-grandfather. He passed before I was born, and the few things that belonged to him (A war journal and an M1 Garand) we're sold by a family member who wanted drugs. The only things I was told about him was he was at Pearl Harbor, survived it and served till the end of the war. He passed in 89 and I was born two years later. Is why I have such a deep fascination for World War II history and why I play World War II games that have historical significance. Cuz I was never able to meet him, but learning about this history and such, makes me believe I'm getting closer to him in a different way.
Something about this game is making everybody who played it get in their feels - in the same type of way. This kind of sad nostalgia. Perhaps it’s a combination of the somber soundtrack and people primarily searching for this memory alone in the night, during those thinking hours. Maybe this was the game that got most of us hooked on FPS games. Very weird, when you think about it, how a game can have such an impact, and bring people together. Nobody else in the world but us could ever understand the unique feeling this game brings many years later. Strangers sharing a bond.
I really want to get a playstation 2 just to play this game again. I got stuck on a part because it was too hard and I never played it again. I sold it just for some money, and now I really want to play this.
Nostalgia, literally nostalgia... How many times played on classic xbox, also the soundtracks the most memorable and i never forgive this game on my heart!

Edward Toner yep this makes cod look like a 2 dollor game
Interestingly enough, I actually bought my copy of Call of Duty: Big Red One for $2.
I like some COD titles (COD 2: Big Red 1), but I still favor MOH. Especially Fronline and European Assault.
The original CoD games were developed by the same people who made the original MoH games.
Also, both of the original series games (early to mid timeframe) are excellent tier games I say.
