Gives me goosebumps any time, any place. So much went into the orchestral composition of this soundtrack. As a young boy this music immersed me into the life of Lieutenant James Patterson. I felt as I was by his side during the landing of D-Day, through the Shipyards of Loritent, Through the farm fields of axis held Holland, strolling the streets of Kleevesburg under the moonlight, fighting through the dutch manor house, across the bridge at nijmegen, along side our Brittish brothers in Arnhem. This game peaked my interest to learn about the truth of World War Two, and was the gateway to my respect for the veterans of Americas greatest generation.

So much passion. This will always be one of my favorite VG Soundtracks! This soundtrack hugely impacted this game and Michael Giacchino was way ahead of his time with putting this much work on a VG Soundtrack. History was made when this game came out. It's amazing b/c Frontline involves one of the many crucial moments in US History. Let us not forget all those who sacrificed their lives in WWII and what it took to secure the freedoms we all take advantage of today. God bless.

    My letter to you.
Life was different then. We stayed up later then we should have to play Medal of Honor on our playstation or xbox. We didnt worrying about bills, car repairs, house maintenance, wars, or our health.
We spent long weekends playing outside you and I.
Cartoon network greeted us after school and we watched Tom and Jerry.
    Do you remember?
Remember that time we skipped class and had to forge moms signature on the pink slip?
    Yeah I remember.
Remember getting shy while presenting because she was sitting there front row, watching attentively. You tried to make me laugh and mess up. Yeah...
    I remember.
Remember the time we made up excuses for why we needed another day for our homework assignment? My dog ate it - I swear!
    I remember.
Remember the lunchables and froot rollups we shared? The cafeteria shenanigans with our friends?
    I remember.
We both got detention that day - mom wasn't happy.
What avout the times we fell asleep on the bus in the morning because the time changed and it was dark and foggy outside.
We went through a lot, you and I.
We didn't care for anything beyond our home, friends, games and comics, just the moment ahead and each other.
    No filthy politics.
    No hearts full of hate.
    No wars or diseases.
    No fear.
Just living life and dreaming of being a lawyer, a doctor, an astronaut. Being someone in this life.
A lot has changed since then.
Dad is no longer with us and Mom isn't doing very well. I heard you have a baby now and a family. I'm happy for you. I miss you.
What I wouldn't give to go back for just a day as a kid, to see my family again, my old friends.
To experience one more day with you - dear reader.
If you're still here and reading my ramblings... Maybe it's been 30 years now? Maybe its been 60 and some of us are already gone.
Know that I'm thinking about you.
Wherever you are, whatever you are going through, no matter how difficult it is, you are not alone.
Regardless of our differences, our views, our colors, or anything else, know this:
    I love you.
Until the day I pass, I will always love you.

Honestly I was too young to fully appreciate the score in this game series but it was truly fantastic. This is absolutely breath taking romantic/modern era symphony music for any circumstance. The fact that it was written for a video game makes me somewhat sad at video gaming's current state of affairs where this level of production value and effort seems to elude most modern FPS titles especially when it comes to emotional and riveting single player experiences.

His diary only said, I found my brother after 10 years, hopefully we can both make it home to burry our deadbeat dad instead of one of us getting buried. I always shed a tear listening to this song perfectly encapsulate every emotion of World War 2. The innocence, the hopefulness, the grimness, the occasional beautiful moments, and the eventual triumph. It's truly a perfect homage to those who sacrificed their lives for the ideas we take for granted today.

It just dawned on me that they employed the unique vocals of an altarboy-age adolescent because the act of charging onto the beaches of Normandy under MG-42 sorties and artillery barrages like cannon fodder in a desperate bid to capture a French beachhead was conducted mostly by young men and that, in a way, it represented the end of their innocence, like that of a church boy being thrown into a bloody struggle where men are ground to mist under tank treads, napalmed, bayoneted, thrown into the air by explosions, starved, tortured, and rendered fearful husks of their former selves.

    • @ErikWoodsCinSoundRadio
      @ErikWoodsCinSoundRadio  11 місяців тому

You are pretty close. The solo boy vocal represents the main character, Lt. Jimmy Patterson and his loss of innocence from boy to soldier. Later on, the vocals of the choir and solo boy vocal become the voices of the Dutch, especially during the Arnham section of the game.

This music is great! It isolates the theme and repeats it multiple times, which burns it inside your ears. The theme doesn't need to be blaringly loud the whole time. The end it rises in a great crescendo then finishes, great song.

This would’ve been an amazing movie, with that being the song for the film of course. Absolutely incredible work. The instruments give you so many emotions.. gives you sadness of the war, and also symbolizes patriotism, the last 30 seconds makes you want to get up and fight and defend. Absolutely beautiful work. It’s amazing how much detail people put into these games not just gameplay but other areas. Nice work.

Hi. Late reply I know but I'm trying to imagine the sound track along with saving private Ryan but it's not there. Maybe parts of MOH might work but I can't fit the two together. I think front lines music just and so should live and stay with frontline as we all remember it?

Well it could have easily been a great song to use for the credits.
Doesn't always have to be during a movie
And sometimes you make a scene with the song in mind
Saving Private Ryan was already filmed
So it might be harder to fit this song into the movie to begin with.
And it doesn't have to be the whole song either
Just some parts could have been used
Maybe it could have worked in Enemy At The Gates.
Yeah i replied late as well LoL better late then never i guess

Today its about sales and numbers, but back whn Frontline came out designers made a game they were actually proud of...im sad to say that the day of beautiful music in video games is over. The medal of honor series (not the most recent 2 games) is the most touching game series ever, i still play these games because of this.=)

Came across this last week and unlocked so many memories I thought I forgot. And to know that voice at the beginning was a young boy was a shocker but nonetheless I was amazed at how many people went into making this.
I can hear the narrator now as this music is in background 5:06
“ You’re about to embark on the great crusade to which we have striven these many months. The eyes of the world are upon you. The hopes and prayers of liberty loving people march with you. in company with our brave allies and brothers in arms …on other fronts you will bring about the destruction of the german war machine …the elimination of nazi tyranny over the oppressed peoples of Europe and security for ourselves in a free world. Your task is not an easy one… your enemy is well trained, well equipped and battle hardened he will fight savagely. I have full confidence in your courage, devotion to duty and skill in battle. We will accept nothing less than full victory! Good luck… and lest us beseech the blessings of almighty god on this great and noble undertaking”
