In this video, we’re going to talk about the real benefits of nutritional yeast.
Nutritional yeast is a fantastic source of B vitamins-particularly vitamin B1 (thiamine).
The problem is that many nutritional yeast products are fortified with synthetic vitamins. Synthetic vitamins do not work the same as natural vitamins. It’s always best to avoid artificial sources of vitamins and minerals-stick with food-based sources and natural supplements.
Keep in mind that consuming nutritional yeast will not cause a yeast infection.
Here are some of the important nutrients in nutritional yeast:
    • B vitamins-especially vitamin B1
    • Amino acids
    • Selenium
    • Zinc
    • Copper
    • Chromium
    • Phosphorus
    • Beta-glucan
The most crucial nutrient in nutritional yeast is vitamin B1. In fact, vitamin B1 is the most important water-soluble vitamin for the body. All the mitochondria (your body’s energy factories) in your cells need this nutrient.
When you’re on a high-carb diet, your requirement for vitamin B1 skyrockets. This is another reason why the Healthy Keto diet is great for your health.
The benefits of vitamin B1 include:
    • Reduces stress
    • Increases your tolerance to stress
    • Provides energy
    • Promotes homeostasis throughout the limbic system
    • Reduces anxiety, panic, and nightmares
    • Enhances sleep
    • Supports healthy hair
    • Helps with POTS symptoms
    • Provides essential trace minerals, vitamins, and amino acids
    • Supports the autonomic nervous system
    • Supports healthy breathing
    • Promotes normal hunger
    • Helps reduce brain fog, confusion, and poor focus
The best time to take nutritional yeast is right before bed. Although it increases your energy, it also helps you feel calm and relaxed, so it doesn’t keep you up at night.

If you exercise a lot you shouldn't try to follow a keto or low carb diet. Distance runners do a thing called carb loading before a marathon to build up stores of sugars and carbs so they don't end up consuming their own muscle halfway through the race. They'll eat several large servings of pasta, lots of potatoes, even junk food. Look at Michael Phelps. He consumes over 20,000 calories a day, almost all of it highly processed junk. Because he burns it as fuel, it never gets stored as fat or converted to muscle, tissue and bone.
You have to keep things in their right contexts. If you exercise a lot you probably should find a more appropriate diet. Keto is more about avoiding diabetes and cardiovascular diseases if you lead a more typical American lifestyle that is a bit more sedentary.

Wow, Dr. Berg, so many of the symptoms of B1 deficiency are what my elderly mother experienced in the last few years of her life. :(. The Assisted Living facility kept saying she had dementia but I knew it was a nutritional issue. And the food they served was high in carbs and processed items. I did give her liquid B-complex vitamins when I would visit and I could often get her back to normal with large doses of B-complex. I also discovered that biotin did wonders for her mental state and could calm her down from screaming to perfectly rational in 10 minutes. (I think that was related to undiagnosed UTIs and the urea cycle not working properly.) Anyway, for your readers please don't underestimate the importance of B vitamins, especially in older people who are probably eating a deficient diet. Blessings.

Most doctors are ‘trained’ to be pillpushers, nothing but sales’ agents for pharmaceutical Companiex who have literally hijacked the medical system and the Hippocratic Oath. The system is rigged in that, being sick and keeping people sick is more profitable than being healthy or restoration of health with many prescription drugs being extremely harmful. . A holistic doctor trained in nutrition, alternative medicine as well as conventional medicine, is the best option although not many have such a breadth of skills. I understand too, that the glyphosphates sprayed so liberallt on crops, fruit and vegetables, not only depletes the soils on which if is grown but also is a hidden cause of anxiety and insomnia as these lethal chemicals disrupt the hormonal and nervous system as well as being a leading cause of cancer and obesity, again, through hormonal disruption. Also the fruits and veg grown in this way, are themselves depleted of much nourishment due to devastating damage whilst growing in such soil. We all need to be much more aware as to the devastating impact of such damaging glyphosphates which are literally poisoning humanity, wildlife and the soil which is the essence and source of life itself.

But what does not make sense is that I always had super mental focus. I could learn most things quickly and easily, especially if it's nothing abstract, which was always a little more challenging. I have been eating nutritional yeast sporadically for a few years now, but unaware of the things you mentioned in this video. Now I will pay attention to them, and am keen to try using it to calm my mind when it's overactive at bed time. @@brendexxruiz yeah, fasting and intermittent fasting can be a struggle in the beginning, but don’t give up. After a couple of weeks or so your body adjusts to it and it gets easier and easier. I’ve been doing keto and IF (for the second time) for about a month now. I started with the 16/8 fasting schedule (which is usually recommended in the beginning), then after a couple of weeks I switched to 18/6, then a week or so later I went to the 20/4. And starting yesterday I am now trying to do OMAD, as much as possible. The reason for that is I need to kick start my mid section fat loss (stomach, waist and hip “love handles”) and OMAD is the best way to make that happen. UPDATE! I saw my endocronogist after 2.5 mo. of IF and following Dr. Berg's recommendations and my doc was astonished at how much I have improved! My A1C was at 8.9 and now it's 7.1! Amazing! I haven't lost much weight but that's because I'm still very stressed out (work aholic that I am) and I'm working on removing some of my duties to lower my work load. I haven't been working out consistently either. So I've still got a lot of changes to make to recover from fATTY liver, diabetes, hi tryglicerides, etc. I've improved greatly but have more work to do. Thanks Dr. BERG!!

Thanks, Dr Berg. I started taking your nutritional yeast & my nightmares went away.
I was also having severe anxiety, depression, agitation that bordered on (I think) paranoia of others with increasing agoraphobia. The anti-anxiety meds I had been on seemed to not help at all anymore, so I stopped taking them. These things also didn't improve with the nutritional yeast, but I tried magnesium L threonate 200 mg daily & what a difference! I noticed a change immediately after the first dose. Now able to get out of the house & actually like/talk to people again!
Just want to encourage others not to give up on trying different supplements, as I tried alot of different ones which didn't seem to help, possibly because my body didn't need them.

When I first started my keto journey, I ate nutritional yeast on my food. I later stopped after another keto coach said it messed with hormones. But, I do think I am defiant in b1 and have many of the signs you described. I will try nutritional yeast again and see how I feel. I have been thinking I needed a test to see my vitamin levels anyway. I lost a lot of weight 4 years ago and then gained some back even continuing low carb, but the weight was not coming off and I just felt bloated and uncomfortable. Ihave been doing your advice on acv as I was drinking it everyday, when I lost weight the first time. I am losing weight again and feeling better. I am not holding water like I was. I tried the kale, blueberry, kefir drink to help my liver. I was concerned over how many carbs the blueberries and kefir have, but I tried it anyway. It was good although seems to be more than 1 serving. I appreciate the information and I hope I can get back to a healthy weight while healing inside.

wow I don't even know where to start... I've been eating nutritional yeast for a couple months now. I have anxiety, heart palpitations and a rapid heart rate (usually 110+ resting) and have had chronic violent disturbing nightmares since I was a child. I have noticed a decrease in these things lately and had no clue how, and did not know it could be because of the benefits of the nutritional yeast. I only started eating it because it's healthy and I tend to use it in place of cheese lately also since I feel crappier when I eat a lot of cheese.
