I'm a novice woodworker and picked this up as my first table saw after a lot of research for under $300. The fence is not quite vertical. The table is not quite flat. The throat plate does indeed flex a LOT, like an eighth down in the center if you press on it. I was aware of these drawbacks before buying and I was happy to pay for the performance, toolless adjustments and safety feature set. I attached the arbor wrenches to the power plug to be certain I'm never using them plugged in. It claims 4x4 rip capacity but the teeth just barely clear the wood and I wasn't able to do that safely, I instead ripped slightly less than half through, flipped it, ripped the other half, cleaned up the small bit of remaining wood
I’ve heard this saw is really loud. Can you confirm that? I like the price, but don’t really need a 10” saw. Was leaning toward the 8 1/4 Skil worm drive actually.
@@bubbsdaddy It's quieter than my dad's rockwell delta cabinet saw and louder than a sawstop cabinet saw. it will definitely remind you if you forgot earpro but it's fine with earpro.
I bought this saw in New Zealand several months ago. It's excellent and has plenty of power when using a dado stack. There is a couple of differences between the US and EU/AU/NZ models. US model has an included anti kickback pawl but doesn't have the straight dust extraction step down nozzle. I bought the Skil anti kickback pawl and its storage bracket from US eBay cheap as chips. The anti kickback pawl storage bracket screws in just behind the storage clamp for the dust extraction nozzles. You will see two screw bosses for it located there.
I have this saw, and I actually have it mounted to a rolling cart. I made a cabinet out of plywood w/ three drawers and double locking casters. I have two rails that run front to back on the cart. The rails lock the front and back of the saw in place w/ the legs folded up. It's not bolted down, and transport the saw if needed. I used painters tape on the miter gauge to remove the slack while in the miter slot. I used some 3/4" plywood and made a small sled 13" long x 11" deep and the just attached the fence to the miter gauge. So if I need to remove it, I just loosen the two screws on the fence, and it's just a miter gauge again. My biggest complaint is that my fence doesn't sit 90 degrees to the table. I was able to shim it on one end and get it aligned a little better, but my fence has a slight bulge in the middle, and I only notice when I'm cutting stock thicker than 2"... and it's loud. Really loud. Screaming loud. But I'm really glad to have it because I couldn't afford the Dewalt :D
I have had this table saw for over three years and I'm very happy with it. The fence is solid and dialing it in was extremely easy. I may upgrade to a grizzly cab saw but for the time being, the Skil table saw has been a great table for what I paid for it.
Tip: 6:21 you can actually use the included blade wrench with the 2 holes in it, to adjust the distance between the 2 "nuts/screws" (short/long fence distance)so they are identical on both sides of the fence
I've had this saw for about a year. I agree with the comments about the throat plate. But I'm really glad i waited (accidentally) for this to be available rather than getting one of the other cheap table saws. As a beginner I've not found myself fighting with it too much after the day i spent getting it all square to start with. The modifications I've made are a sturdy base for it because it does rock a bit with the big stuff especially when it's a long beam (2metres plus), a new mitre gauge and a quick throat plate. Next stop a new blade once I work out what fits the riving knife
@@sumeraybuilds yes I used a piece of 1/2 inch ply and then chiseled the underside to fit. It’s not perfect but it works and now I’m a bit better I should probably do another one. I’m in New Zealand so we don’t have a great deal of choice and we get gouged on prices so once I found the options here were either real junk or too expensive I didn’t feel too bad going the Bangood route. I got the WNew one and for me it’s pretty good. It’s solid heaps of positive stops and it has those washer bits you tighten to fit in the groove.
Good job on your review; just the right amount time for show and tell. I'm in the market for a worksite tablesaw. And because of your review I'm going to check out the Skil. Thx D
I bought this last last March and have used it a few times a week since then. I've made furniture, cutting boards, and ripped long oak trim pieces on it. It's really a fantastic saw for the money. I paid $330 for it after tax, and the comparable DeWalt 10" is about $480 and close to $600 with the rolling stand, so nearly double. Overall, I'm really happy with it. It's loud as heck (but all the universal motor saws are), but it's ripped through basically everything I've thrown at it. My only real complaint is that the included throat plate is terrible. It's poorly supported around the blade so as you push a piece through, downward pressure will cause the insert to deform and change the angle of your piece against the blade. I bought some cheap MDF CNC inserts off Amazon to fix it. They required some modification as the captive riving-knife mount is quite bulky, but it's resolved the issue nearly completely. Also, if you're in the US, you can mount a dado stack on it which is very useful. A lot of budget job site saws don't have this as a feature.
Thanks for sharing your experience with it. A couple of people have mentioned the floppy throat plate. Have you thought about replacing it with a DIY timber one?
I purchased this one about 6 months ago. I love this table saw and the adjustments are great for being a jobsite saw. I have a small wood shop so the fact it folds up and moves out of the way is a large plus.
After a full month of waiting, I finally received mine a couple days ago. Don't know if it's a UK vs USA thing but mine came with two riving knives. One is integrated into the blade guard and the other is a standalone blade. A set of anti kickback pawls were also included, which attach to the blade guard. A lot of people mention how flimsy the insert is being make out of plastic. Mine is actually metal and pretty solid. I couldn't find any information on adjusting the fence to square it to the blade so thanks for that tidbit. Mine is off just a smidge so will definitely be looking at that. Nice review! Thanks and be safe.
Bought this months ago for just €279 (in the Netherlands). I finally unboxed it and set it up yesterday as I've been too terrified to use a table saw. I'm finally feeling like I'll need to use it, so there's no more avoiding it 😅 It's also good to know that you can push a pin through the little lid on the on/off button, so it can't be turned on at all (which could bring ease of mind with kids around). I believe you can also calibrate the removable red cap at the blade to get it even with the table. Yours showed a gap I believe.
@@sumeraybuilds yeah man, good call mate. I’d do the same if I had kids. Haha, and I've already found another excuse not to use it just yet... I realized I needed (wanted) to properly calibrate it before use, so I’ve not even had the plug in. I want it set up perfectly before use, just for my ease of mind. Woodworking is a funny thing when it comes to such things. You just keep walking into problems you ‘need’ to buy tools for. I had some real crappy stuff when I started, and really was limited in measuring stuff when I needed to, so I'm sorting that out once and for all so I can just get going.
I bought one a few weeks ago and so far it's terrific. I have a very small shop and the portability is a big plus. I also have an older contractor saw that is much larger. I like this one so much I'm thinking of building a rolling worktable around it and selling the larger saw.
I already have this saw, but I like seeing every review I've seen of it say good things about it. I agree with these reviews too. I'm also glad I got the updated saw that has the metal throat plate and removable riving knife. Miter guage still sucks, and the push stick placement is not the best, but these are minor issues that are easy to remedy.
Got these a few weeks ago and love it, my 1st saw so I am no pro but noticed the US version gets anti kickback teeth but Skil say here in Europe it don't.
Thanks for the video, i have had it for well over a year, had no idea about the slots and calibration lol. Just took it out of the box and started using it, it's a very well made machine. I have made hundreds of cuts with it blade is still pretty good.
I have that same saw, it's legit. A great saw for the price(got mine for $269) It claims a 3 1/2" cutting depth, mine will cut a full 3 5/8" I had to adjust the blade a tiny bit to make it 90 degrees and the riving knife I tweaked just a little. The blade was square to the fence out of the box. It'll resaw 7 1/4" pressure treated like it's butter. I built a higher fence jig for resawing, and with the rack and pinion adjustment it was really easy to do. It's light and portable with the folding legs; you can easily slide it into the back of an SUV and store it in a very small space.
If you use punctuation it makes your comment less annoying to read I was reading your comment thinking man this guy's a dumb ass I wonder if he realizes it maybe think about adding a period here and there just a suggestion
this looks incredibly similar to the triton 10" table saw that is being launched right down to the blade adjustment. I wonder if that is the version the UK is getting?
I have this saw and have found that it carries best on the side handle with the table close to your body, not the legs. Weight balance is better, avoids the issue you experienced and protects the top from knocks too.
I just bought this for my cottage project, amazing for that price. My other table saw is 20 or something years old dewalt. It's powerful saw, but It's just too heavy for a place where the saw needs to be constantly moved out of the way, so I'd rather leave it home 🙂 And one think, Skil is definitely the loudest table saw I've used; ear protection is definitely necessary.
Nice video. 24 Kg x 2.2= 53 lbs. Got Skil Table Saw 10" 2005 vintage, bought used in '08. The plastic enclosure is the weakest link. Nice seeing the new "bells & whistles."
I’ve this saw. I like the features and it’s a pretty solid build for a job site saw. I wish the riving knife on my saw could be easily removed for a crosscut sled. The updated model has an updated riving knife for easy removal - my model is 1.5yrs old.
Good review! I can't decide between this, the SPT99T-01 or even the SPT99-11. I have their SPT77WML-01 and love how quiet and powerful the worm drive is. With space constraints, the SPT99T-01 is looking like the favourite at the moment. First world problems...
It's a difficult question to answer, I'm currently planning a comparison video for the Evoluton, SKIL & DeWalt. I've also just posted a community poll which I'd be interested to get your thoughts on! Stay tuned!
Great table saw..have done 3 house renovations with it.. mainly used for flooring and trims. I love the dials and rails etc on it gives you that workshop accuracy and experience wherever you set this thing up.. 2 downsides for me though. That noise it produces is extreme.. almost unbearable. Really wished it has a less noisy engine. Perhaps i would even say its a bit overpowered for the job you present it too. 2nd i would say that i think the dust extraction could be better. When I bought it though i got a great bargain deal on it and the shop gave me like 30% off since it was their display unit. For 200euro this thing is amazing, but because of its noise i choose lighter tools to get the job done unless I can't get around it. For example my jobs Makita mitre saw is much much friendlier for the neighbours 😅 ..sound isn't normally something we get to experience before buying.. otherwise i may have looked further.
Did you review the Evolution 255? The 255 isn't available in the USA yet but the Skil is...I am wondering if I should wait for it to come to the USA or go after the Skil. Any suggestions or input would be appreciated.
@@sumeraybuilds That was my thinking too...any idea when it will be available in the USA? I contacted Evolution in the USA and they were very cryptic and the reply was abrupt.
I bought one of these, noticed first now half a year later that the left miter slot is horrible. It's width varies by like 0.25mm. 19.3mm to 19.55mm. I guess they are cheap for a reason, no quality control. I thought I'd buy a somewhat decent miter gauge, but that didn't help. Narrow at the start, then wide in the middle and the last 1/5th really narrow. Like 19.4mm the first 3cm, 19.55mm in the middle and 19.3 at the end.
Does anyone know when/if this saw will be available in the UK? I'm looking to purchase it this year, if it doesn't come out what would be an alternative? Great bid by the way, thanks 👍🏻
Ok I just bought the Dewalt 8.25 saw came with a rolling stand I got the set for $350 U.S. new on a deal. Hard to find blades from what I hear now don’t know if I need the dado I am brand new to wood working and never owned a table saw was looking for a saw that I could use for 2 or 3 years and then upgrade. Is it worth taking this saw back for the skill 10” saw for all the features? Like the easy of finding other blades, the dado ability, and more cut capacity? I did not know this saw even existed yesterday. Or is the Dewalt a good beginner saw? I feel I got a good price on the Dewalt. But if the skill is a better saw.
Personally I still think the DeWalt is the better saw. Sure, it's got a smaller blade and can't take a dado. But it's overall build quality, materials used and motor are better. You've made the right choice. If you can afford DeWalt then generally speaking they're the best table saws on the market. The new Evolution saw (video coming later today) is also one to watch, it's got a bunch of features which puts it ahead of the SKIL in my opinion.
@@sumeraybuilds thank you. Ya for the Dewalt right now it is $30 more only than the Skill. So I will get the Dewalt. I will be watching g later when the new video comes out.
Hiya. I’ve been keen to get one of these Skil table saws but can’t find availability in uk. Do you know where I could get one or if not when they will be available? Love your channel. Cheers.
Hi, very interested in this machine. I bought a Rage 5 some time ago and though it is fine for cutting sheet materials the table is not planer at all. I swapped the machine 3 times and every replacement had the same distorted table casting. The distortions run in a number of directions, and the height of the table on either side of the insertion plate differ!! I cannot therefore use it for basic joinery operations. Can you comment on the table of the SKIL machine? I know it won't be machined flat for this price, but have you put a metal rule along the table at various angles to verify the flatness. I would be very interested to know. Thanks for an excellent video.
I just did this and can honestly say it's dam near perfect. Only thing is the insert plate that people have mentioned in the comments. It is a bit loose in the middle.
I got this for less than$300 and i think they must have lost money in it. It's really superb. Took me about fifteen minutes with a saw gauge to get it dead accurate.
Yeah I think it must be a bit of a loss leader for them. It’s hard to see how they can pack in so many features at such a competitive price and make a profit! 😂
@sumeraybuilds Have you continued using the Skil to get a senes of strengths and weaknesses IRL? I have the TS6307 (NA version). Being fair, I wouldn't have a table saw but for the price and it's served me well in cutting pine and ply for shop stuff for the last year but...I found the table's not exactly flat and there's flex in the throat plate - trade offs for the price point. As I'm planning to try some more 'fine' furniture, I found some wobble in the blade (thin kerf). I've not given up on my Skil and there are a couple of things to try to improve accuracy, but I'm keeping an eye out for cabinet saws as I may have already outgrown this entry level machine.
Thanks for your comment. I have continued using the Skil and have a good sense of its strengths and weaknesses in real-world applications. I haven’t had issues with the table not being flat or with a wobbly throat plate, as mine is metal now. However, I do find the lack of soft start quite jarring - it’s almost scary without it when you’re used to having it! Another feature I wish it had is wheels or a rolling stand for better portability. I still think the DeWalt table saw is the GOAT for its overall performance and reliability. Thanks again for your input and good luck with your future projects!
The gears are actually industrial plastic, same as the rack and pinion fence gears. I greased mine to reduce wear and tear and have had no issues with them.
Right now I'd say the SKIL offers better value. However, I know for a fact that Evolution are releasing a new table saw soon, I think in April, I will be reviewing it on this channel. I expect it will rival this one well so if you can wait I would!
@@sumeraybuildswhere did you hear this? I was about to buy the skil, but if evo addresses all the issues and continues to innovate, it‘lil be worth the wait
@@Ty-ye8rd BRAND NEW Evolution tablesaws are coming very soon, with most of the features of this one but with a few extra ones too. And different stand options. I am a senior member of NPD dept at Evolution.
For those in the UK having difficulty finding this saw...... It might be because evolution have released a rack and pinion table saw R255TBL. Tbh it looks like a copy of the skil and dewalt but comes with their "use only evolution blades" warranty. Not one for me because it's an evolution tool. If it is a skil knockoff then that would explain the difficulty in getting the skil from screwfix because screwfix sell evolution tools.
I ended up with a lemon but gonna buy another one to see. Mine was used a total of an hour over 3 weeks as I just use for hobby stuff for myself. The fence locked up and wouldn't move...the rail on back tried moving but the front side was completely locked. Then when I went to put the factory blade on to take it back to Lowe's the motor locked in place so I had to bring it in with the blade stuck all the way up
someone told me taht this saw is hard to put into a built table with an outfeed table. i think he said something about the legs not coming off well or something like that. is there any reason you shouldnt just build a table that has enough room to put the entire thing with the legs folded up onto the table?
It’s not actually available in the UK… yet! But SKIL have assured me it’s coming soon. This is also why I didn’t include the price in the video because it’s only expected and not confirmed. Will update the video description when it’s available.
Yes it has but not in the uk. I have never been able to find a UK retailer. Could have got an import but American version is 110v and no warranty, eu version would work but again no warranty.

@@n0spam911 Sorry but only three spring to mind. One is by Rutlands power tools, it looks the same as the skil table saw, it's 240v and a 3yr warranty and has had some good reviews, cost about £300 but no stand included, that's extra. Then there's the Hikoki C3610DRJ 36V, again 3yrs warranty (heavy duty) but it's about £450 including a wheeled stand or £350 without. I know it's battery but for about £150 you can by a Hikoki transformer power pack for it to run on 240v. Lastly there's one by excel power tools, around the £190 mark, no stand and I've not seen any reviews on it though. I think it's even available the either Wickes or B&Q. Sorry I cannot help any further. I've seen that Skil have a 5yr warranty on their battery tools, that's why I was interested in this one 3yr is fine but if it has 5yrs that's fantastic compared to the competition, plus I want the biggest 90° depth of cut, milwaukee and dewalt don't do 10" any more I believe, well certainly dewalt unless you want to spend close to £900.
Really like this saw based on price and U.S. reviews. This is the first UK review I've seen and it's great to know that this table saw is allegedly coming to the UK. I say allegedly because Skill have yet you reply to my email as there is no UK contact number for them (hate companies that won't actually speak to customers) They only outlet they list for their tools is screwfix...... And surprisingly enough they don't stock it. Having chatted with them it appears they have no plans to stock this table saw. They have however said that they are forwarding enquiries to the relevant department who will decide if it's worth stocking. So back to square one again. 🤦♂️
Is this saw available in the UK 🤔 if so where from and how much. Also how long is the arber (could it handle a dado blade stack). I enjoyed the your review btw 😀
When it's available or should I say if it becomes available you can 98% guarantee that it won't take a dado stack. Uk is funny about those and all the jobsite saws that you see in American reviews are altered for UK so no dado stack fitment option.
I have seen at least 3 other "manufactures" release this saw with their own brand name on it, Evolution being just one of them suspect it is made in china and just rebranded, not sure what the spares availability will be like.
This is a really great saw, looking forward to seeing the price point when it launches. We've had one for a while now and it really does stack up to the biggest names in the game. Brand NEW Evolution Table saws will also be launching very soon in the UK.
Theres a massive height difference between the throat plate and the cutting surface. You can clearly see when the square is placed against the blade 😕 Anyways, im in the market for a new table saw and recently had a visit to my local stores. Im really shocked how bad the quality is throughout all the brands. They're producing cheaply made products with a high price tag 👎 DeWalt being the worst offender. The tools feel like Black and Dekker quality at Festool prices. Its insane.
Everything costs more now, this is true. I'll be reviewing the new Evolution saw soon if you're still not sure which one to go for it's deffo worth checking it out.
I think that’s a fair comment. I’d agree it’s a cheaper alternative to the Dewalt. It offers much of the same functionality. For a saw that includes the rack and pinion fence this is very competitive for its price. That being said I’d agree that Dewalt is ultimately the better machine and I suspect would last longer too.
For all those wondering, this saw isn't available in the UK yet. It's apparently coming soon. I'm expecting it will cost £300-£350 based on EU/ US prices, but that's just my best guess.

Glad to hear you’re enjoying this saw. And some great tips in your comment, thanks for sharing!
I have had this table saw for over three years and I'm very happy with it. The fence is solid and dialing it in was extremely easy. I may upgrade to a grizzly cab saw but for the time being, the Skil table saw has been a great table for what I paid for it.
You made a great choice!
Tip: 6:21 you can actually use the included blade wrench with the 2 holes in it, to adjust the distance between the 2 "nuts/screws" (short/long fence distance)so they are identical on both sides of the fence
Good tip, thanks! 😊
Nice feedback, thanks 🙏What mitre gauge do you recommended? And did you make your own throat plate?
@@sumeraybuilds yes I used a piece of 1/2 inch ply and then chiseled the underside to fit. It’s not perfect but it works and now I’m a bit better I should probably do another one.
I’m in New Zealand so we don’t have a great deal of choice and we get gouged on prices so once I found the options here were either real junk or too expensive I didn’t feel too bad going the Bangood route. I got the WNew one and for me it’s pretty good. It’s solid heaps of positive stops and it has those washer bits you tighten to fit in the groove.
I bought this saw a week ago, i have been cutting maple, oak and walnut on it. Cuts like butter! Very happy with it!👍🏽
Very nice!
Did you buy it in Europe? Where?
@@mderen no in USA. I build cabinets for a living and was really surprised how good it was to use!
Good job on your review; just the right amount time for show and tell. I'm in the market for a worksite tablesaw. And because of your review I'm going to check out the Skil. Thx D
Thanks 🙏 great choice!
I have this saw. It's loud but I love it. It's light so it's easy to move around. I'm impressed with the folding legs.
Yeah it's a very good bit of kit.
I purchased this one about 6 months ago. I love this table saw and the adjustments are great for being a jobsite saw. I have a small wood shop so the fact it folds up and moves out of the way is a large plus.
Great to hear!
Sounds like you've had a bit of a touch there! Nice!
This saw is the only item on my Christmas list. I’ve made my wife aware🤞
Good choice!
Bought this months ago for just €279 (in the Netherlands). I finally unboxed it and set it up yesterday as I've been too terrified to use a table saw. I'm finally feeling like I'll need to use it, so there's no more avoiding it 😅
It's also good to know that you can push a pin through the little lid on the on/off button, so it can't be turned on at all (which could bring ease of mind with kids around). I believe you can also calibrate the removable red cap at the blade to get it even with the table. Yours showed a gap I believe.
Good points! And glad you’ve found an excuse to use it. I don’t let my kids near me when I’m using one of these 😅
@@sumeraybuilds yeah man, good call mate.
@Lennart1995 oh it’s 100% worth doing straight away. The 20 mins spend calibrating will save you hours in the long run!
I bought one a few weeks ago and so far it's terrific. I have a very small shop and the portability is a big plus. I also have an older contractor saw that is much larger. I like this one so much I'm thinking of building a rolling worktable around it and selling the larger saw.
Glad to hear it! Good luck with the rolloing worktable! I'm planning to do something similar with my DeWalt.
I’ve had this saw for a year now and love it.
Glad to hear it!
There’s an upgraded version?
You have one? Bet you're not in the UK. If you are where did you purchase it from?
Got these a few weeks ago and love it, my 1st saw so I am no pro but noticed the US version gets anti kickback teeth but Skil say here in Europe it don't.
Great choice!
I couldn’t agree more. That’s why after watching plenty of review ideas on job site table saws, I went ahead and made the purchase on this Skil
Nice!!
Thanks for the video, i have had it for well over a year, had no idea about the slots and calibration lol. Just took it out of the box and started using it, it's a very well made machine. I have made hundreds of cuts with it blade is still pretty good.
Glad I could help!
I have that same saw, it's legit. A great saw for the price(got mine for $269) It claims a 3 1/2" cutting depth, mine will cut a full 3 5/8"
I had to adjust the blade a tiny bit to make it 90 degrees and the riving knife I tweaked just a little.
Great feedback, thanks for sharing! 🙏
I made the mistake buying 8 1/4 dewalt keep a month hated it sold it bought skil saw had for year couldn’t be happier best purchase ever
What didn't you like about the DeWalt?
I bet the main thing he didn’t like is the 8.25” blade. It might work for a lot of people, but a small blade would limit many of the cuts I do.
If you use punctuation it makes your comment less annoying to read I was reading your comment thinking man this guy's a dumb ass I wonder if he realizes it maybe think about adding a period here and there just a suggestion
I bought this Skil model 1.5 years ago. Terrific saw. Best bang for the buck by far. I have zero complaints about it so far.
this looks incredibly similar to the triton 10" table saw that is being launched right down to the blade adjustment. I wonder if that is the version the UK is getting?
Not sure, I think there’s a few similar ones to this from the comments people have left
Where you get that table saw I can’t see at online
Just still not in the UK
THANK YOU. You've confirmed there's nowhere I've found to store the allen wrench/key.
😂
I just bought this on Monday. Can’t wait use it. Great review!
Great choice! You won’t be disappointed!
I have this saw and have found that it carries best on the side handle with the table close to your body, not the legs. Weight balance is better, avoids the issue you experienced and protects the top from knocks too.
Good tip, thanks 🙏
I had that saw for over a year now. No regret going with the Skil over the Dewalt.
Good feedback! Thanks for sharing 🙏
I just bought this for my cottage project, amazing for that price. My other table saw is 20 or something years old dewalt. It's powerful saw, but It's just too heavy for a place where the saw needs to be constantly moved out of the way, so I'd rather leave it home 🙂
And one think, Skil is definitely the loudest table saw I've used; ear protection is definitely necessary.
😂 yes it's 100% super loud!
Nice video. 24 Kg x 2.2= 53 lbs.
Got Skil Table Saw 10" 2005 vintage, bought used in '08. The plastic enclosure is the weakest link. Nice seeing the new "bells & whistles."
Thanks for the conversion :D 2005... maybe time for an upgrade?
The rack & pinion looked a little sloppy at the rear, is there any way of locking the fence once in position?
Yes you can lock it into position using the handle on the right handside. I show this in the video at 3:16
Still doesnt seem to be available in the UK unfortunately
I’ve this saw. I like the features and it’s a pretty solid build for a job site saw. I wish the riving knife on my saw could be easily removed for a crosscut sled. The updated model has an updated riving knife for easy removal - my model is 1.5yrs old.
Yeah it’s very good!
Kurang bertenaga dan cepat rusak
Thanks for sharing 🙏 30% is crazy, congrats on the steel!
@@sumeraybuilds yeah for the money even at the retail price it functions great and will get the job done, that's the most important thing.
Did you review the Evolution 255? The 255 isn't available in the USA yet but the Skil is...I am wondering if I should wait for it to come to the USA or go after the Skil. Any suggestions or input would be appreciated.
I'd say the Evolution is better than the SKIL, personally.
@@sumeraybuilds That was my thinking too...any idea when it will be available in the USA? I contacted Evolution in the USA and they were very cryptic and the reply was abrupt.
Needs a DIY Router attachment like the one you made for the Dewalt. ;)
Maybe one day!
I don't have this issue on mine... But it doesn't shock me that these errors can get through quality control either. Are you still under warranty?
Does anyone know when/if this saw will be available in the UK? I'm looking to purchase it this year, if it doesn't come out what would be an alternative? Great bid by the way, thanks 👍🏻
Pretty sure it’s coming to Screwfix at some point but don’t have dates
Does this saw have a blade brake or soft start motor. Disappointed in only having a 5/8 dado capacity
Any update on when it’ll hit the Uk?
I’m not sure!!
@@sumeraybuilds how did you get hold of yours if you don’t mind me asking??
Hi since watching this video I have been looking for the skil saw. Can’t find one anywhere. Any ideas where else to look.
It's not in the UK yet, apparently it's coming soon!
Great review. I'm regretting buying my bosch site saw now... Lol 😅
Haha does the Bosch one not live up to this?
@@sumeraybuilds it's got some good bits but from what I can see from Skill saw yours is much better.
Hiya.
I’ve been keen to get one of these Skil table saws but can’t find availability in uk.
Do you know where I could get one or if not when they will be available?
Love your channel. Cheers.
Doesn’t seem like it’s coming to the UK, check out the Evolution instead imo
I take it that it’s not available in the uk? Or is there a uk version, if so where can I get it from?
No it's still not available in the UK 😳
Is this the same as the model 1340 that the Americans had at the end of last year?
Ts6307 is the one in the USA
Yes you’re right I’ve changed the title, thanks 🙏
Hi. I just bought this one and when I stop the engine it takes out fire from the motor. Is it normal?
I'm not sure what you mean, but it doesn't sounds good!
If it’s not available in the uk how do you have it ? Can I just buy from Europe and change the plug ?
Yes I changed the plug
Is there a release date and/or price for this in the uk yet?
Don't think so, I was told it was soon when making the video but that appears to not be the case.
Where can I order it in UK?
It’s not actually available yet, but apparently it’s coming soon!
@@sumeraybuilds Care to share your tips for squeezing more accuracy out of this machine?
Thank you for the review my dewalt gear is binding no longer can lower the blade. How are the gear to lower the blade is it plastic or metal?
It's all metal. However I'm pretty sure the DeWalt one is too so not sure how it's binding.
The gears are actually industrial plastic, same as the rack and pinion fence gears. I greased mine to reduce wear and tear and have had no issues with them.
Like the video and want to get one but can’t find anyone that sells it. Any suggestions?
It's not available in the UK yet, coming soon though!
Great Review. Would you buy this or the Evolution rage 5s?
Right now I'd say the SKIL offers better value. However, I know for a fact that Evolution are releasing a new table saw soon, I think in April, I will be reviewing it on this channel. I expect it will rival this one well so if you can wait I would!
@@sumeraybuilds that's great, thanks 👍

@@sumeraybuilds thank YOU!
Thanks 🙏
@@sumeraybuilds 👍🏻 np, thanks for the great video review.
Great review 👍 will you be doing a comparison of the new Evolution R55TBL+ Vs the Rage 5?

Looks like good bit of kit but, where can I buy it in the UK ?
It's not available yet but it's coming soon!
Well, what country are you in ?@@sumeraybuilds
I’m in the UK, this is a review model
I ended up with a lemon but gonna buy another one to see. Mine was used a total of an hour over 3 weeks as I just use for hobby stuff for myself. The fence locked up and wouldn't move...the rail on back tried moving but the front side was completely locked. Then when I went to put the factory blade on to take it back to Lowe's the motor locked in place so I had to bring it in with the blade stuck all the way up
Sorry to hear that, hope you have better luck with the next one!
Is it true that Mikita tablessaw is not that good What do you think about it?
Honestly, I've not used it. But Makita are usually solid tools so I'd imagine it's great!
someone told me taht this saw is hard to put into a built table with an outfeed table. i think he said something about the legs not coming off well or something like that. is there any reason you shouldnt just build a table that has enough room to put the entire thing with the legs folded up onto the table?
No reason at all, but you're losing out on some space below the saw which is annoying from a storage pov.
Also had rouble finding this in the uk. Looking for my first one and would consider this on….if I could find it!
It’s not actually available in the UK… yet! But SKIL have assured me it’s coming soon. This is also why I didn’t include the price in the video because it’s only expected and not confirmed. Will update the video description when it’s available.

Hasn't this been out for years or is this an updated model?

Yes it has but not in the uk. I have never been able to find a UK retailer.
Could have got an import but American version is 110v and no warranty, eu version would work but again no warranty.
R55tbl+ vs Skil vs Rutlands. Are they all the same?
I think the evolution isn’t a rebrand of the same model. But I’m reviewing it soon so will confirm in the video

struggling to find in the UK shops
And you will struggle. The only outlet skil list on their website is screwfix and screwfix don't stock it and don't have any current plans to stock it. All enquiries are being passed on to their relevant department, they will then decide if it is worth stocking 😔. Once again there is no "great" in living in great britain.
@@Sly_Wolf_1any other rack and pinion suggestions, except the dewalt? I saw milwaukee have it but I'm not sure if they have corded one ( I don't trust the battery power for some reason)
I think it’s coming to Screwfix at some point 🤞
I like the fold out legs
Yeah it’s decent!

@@sumeraybuildsI read somewhere that the new Rutlands table saw is the same saw with a different label?
When it's available or should I say if it becomes available you can 98% guarantee that it won't take a dado stack. Uk is funny about those and all the jobsite saws that you see in American reviews are altered for UK so no dado stack fitment option.
It is an amazing saw....louder than a Catholic girl in the backseat but solid

I agree, both are super but I’m doing a comparison video soon!
Can you dado with this Skil?
Yes
What is the model number please
SKIL 1340 Table Saw
This saw really has got my interest. Is anyone out there prepared to say just how much they paid for it in the UK ? B. 😎👍
It's not available in the Uk, you'll need to buy an EU one and modify the plug. Expect to pay about £350.
Literally ordered yesterday. For my woodshop. I hope it will arrive soon
Good choice. You won’t be disappointed
Where did you order it from? I'm guessing not the uk.
@Sly_Wolf_1 in one of our local retail shops in Latvia
This is a really great saw, looking forward to seeing the price point when it launches. We've had one for a while now and it really does stack up to the biggest names in the game.
Brand NEW Evolution Table saws will also be launching very soon in the UK.
I know! I can't wait to get my hands on it!
Theres a massive height difference between the throat plate and the cutting surface.
You can clearly see when the square is placed against the blade 😕
Anyways, im in the market for a new table saw and recently had a visit to my local stores. Im really shocked how bad the quality is throughout all the brands. They're producing cheaply made products with a high price tag 👎
DeWalt being the worst offender. The tools feel like Black and Dekker quality at Festool prices. Its insane.
Everything costs more now, this is true. I'll be reviewing the new Evolution saw soon if you're still not sure which one to go for it's deffo worth checking it out.
It’a an actual copy of the dewalt saw!
Yeah it’s very similar
Netter be GOOD,The cost is there!!!!!😂😂😂😂😂
😂
I have been using the Dewalt since 2017, this looks like a cheap copy of it. Cant really improve on the Dewalt.
I think USA banned table saw until 2043
🤣
Waste of time watching this to then realise it's not even available in the UK sigh
Yeah I know, I was told it was coming soon when I reviewed it!
@@sumeraybuilds no worries i realised that I don't need table saw anyway and need the mitre saw instead :)
This is not sold in the UK. Why?
I'm not sure, I was told it was coming soon but seems to be taking a while...
