Yup, this is why I don't feel bad whenever I shoot the birds. The Institute ain't watchin' me as I build my Mega Palace where I store my 30+ suits of power armor and dozens of armors, outfits, and weapons.
Birds are synthetic, I randomly was sneaking close to a raider group and one says to the other. Why did only the birds manage to not get irradiated like everything else. That convo I over heard and that very room in the SRB I knew it. Shaun's been watching us since he hit the release switch in vault 111. 👍❤️

but the aliens control it all if you kill all the crows in game aliens invade and blow up the whole world.

If you pay attention you will realize that all the factions are watching you from the moment you leave the vault, for example the railroad has a surveillance post near the door of vault 111, showing that they are also watching you from the beginning.
the institute has so much potential but they just use it to be total creeps 😮💨
I genuinely thought that was common knowledge they even mention it in one of there terminal entries if yea stoat aboot a bit in the institute they say something about they've master makin animal synth on both land and air and are lookin for other avenues to experiment with, I.e. waterborne synths and mabey space fareing synths or suhin yea nevwr know with those crazy bas###**

It's not just the Institute who were spying on the vault. If you head into the trees southwest of the Vault 111 entrance, you find a makeshift lookout post with one of the Railroad's chalk signs etched nearby.

Makes perfect sense, in Norse mythology Òðinn did the same thing with his Ravens to spy on the world.
It's for that reason, among many others, that Fallout 4 is completely ridiculous and 100% contrived. It's a good survival/exploration game (both aspects could be better), but that's the only good things about Fallout 4. As an RPG, it's bad... and yet Bugsthesda thinks they could slap that label on it... :/
