Over the years I dated two men who lived with their mother. It soon became apparent that my house became the clubhouse. If we were just going to hang out, it was always at my place. We didn't go to his place because mama was there. Now maybe this wouldn't bother some women, but it bothered me. He was able to maintain a private physical space for himself in the relationship, but I did not have that same option. My space became our space, but his space was off limits. Just felt imbalanced.

My husband lived with his mom when we started dating. The difference is he stayed there to help his family after his step- father died. He held a salaried position at his job, paid his mother $800/month for rent, paid his own car note, and was helping his 19yr old sister with his 2yr old nephew. But believe this, within a year he had proposed and shortly thereafter HE went out and found a place for US to live. It's not that we don't want men who live at home with their mothers, it's the lack of responsibility and accountability that usually accompanies men like that.

I knew a man who lived with his mom and had no problem getting dates. He worked fulltime and she was a single mom with no other living relatives. Him living there enabled her to live a better lifestyle in a safer neighborhood. He did his fair share of chores. They did eat lots of meals together where she cooked but he was self sufficient physically and was actually benefiting her financially. She was a respectful wonderful woman who never interfered in his relationships. I see relationships like owning a cat/dog I have 2 pets and we’re able to feed them, groom them and live them so we have them, I don’t have a car, my own place or the spare change to upkeep a relationship.

My husband lived with his mom when we started dating. The difference is he stayed there to help his family after his step- father died. He held a salaried position at his job, paid his mother $800/month for rent, paid his own car note, and was helping his 19yr old sister with his 2yr old nephew. But believe this, within a year he had proposed and shortly thereafter HE went out and found a place for US to live. It's not that we don't want men who live at home with their mothers, it's the lack of responsibility and accountability that usually accompanies men like that.

I knew a man who lived with his mom and had no problem getting dates. He worked fulltime and she was a single mom with no other living relatives. Him living there enabled her to live a better lifestyle in a safer neighborhood. He did his fair share of chores. They did eat lots of meals together where she cooked but he was self sufficient physically and was actually benefiting her financially. She was a respectful wonderful woman who never interfered in his relationships.

Men that choose to semi-permanently live with their moms give a sense of no ambition to be self sufficient. I’ve seen men live with their moms and female relatives and be gainfully employed enough to afford an apartment, a room for rent, or even can pool their money together to be roommates with eachother.
But they don’t. In each instance, the arrangement of living with their mom or female relative (grandma, aunt, etc.) allows them to use their money for vices. Heavy drinking, video games, drug consumption, partying, traveling via Spirit. Even the ones who pay some bill or rent of some sort don’t commit to a consistent pay schedule, never paying on time or in full. Because Mommy dearest will and can forgive them unlike the Uncle or male roommate that’d kick them out.
A man with that lack of ambition or the opportunistic mindset to do that to the only woman that was raised to unconditionally love you is NOT a viable partner.

Mothers let their sons come back home, because they can use them for hard labor around the house. And even though their sons have children, they don't bring their children home with them. They leave them with their kids mother, so his mother doesn't have the burden of small children in her home. The daughters with children get kicked out bc they don't provide free labor and they bring the burden of children with them. That's why these males leave their children, because they always have the safety net of their mother as long as they leave the kids behind.
