He also looks like the "More Doug Demuro" guy
Hey Jackson, thanks for the epic comment.
Looks like some guy I've seen on Autotrader
Dusty Dude nah the other guy has a blue shirt
Should hace named it Cars and Thisssss
I feel like "reviewed by Doug" should be a selling point for this car

He trips over the fracture between time and space caused by the signals to control the game from the controller, that he only can see,
So a “fender bender” becomes a cost catastrophe. Because there may not be a custom numbered panel just laying around.
dang good point lol
You just have to accept the fact that you'll never be able to replace it if it gets damaged. I'm sure you can order the part, but it won't be numbered and you'll likely pay out the ass for it. I assume at some point or another an aftermarket company will pick up the slack and make custom decals or panels, but you'll never get a factory replacement. Behold, the woes of the upper class.
Royce Zaro woes of the upper class? Let me tell you a secret, “wealthy” people have car insurance. You’ll make a nice profit if this car gets wrecked.
Oh, it's fine. The numbering looks like some kind of quick laser engraving in the surface. Order replacements and Mini will ask you "What number do you need etched on the left/right/both panels?"
I was thinking the same thing.
Imagine thinking you’re fast, then getting gapped by a mini😭
Imagine being the guy doing the gapping... That would be me! I have an '10 MINI Cooper S Clubman that I have been building for the past year and a half. If you do it smart you can turn a MINI into an unbelievable sleeper. My slightly weight reduced MINI is FBO with a bigger upgraded BorgWarner AirWerks SX K03 turbo. I obliterate most cars in my class, but the real fun is getting a win against the bigger V8s! I do not gap them but I do usually win by a car or a half a car. It's crazy because I did not build my car for straight lines. It's built "for the curves" and it was really surprising when I learned that my car was actually capable of taking down $80,000 BMWs. The insane 60-120mph pick up was not expected. The guys at GermanTech Motorsports (the shop who helped me with my build) were also surprised. It has not been easy though and building the car has been a complete pain in the butt overcoming all of the "set backs" that come with building a MINI. There are sensors for sensors and some of the engineering is completely sideways. It is the most fun car that I have ever built. What's insane is that I haven't even touched the internals yet. Thats where the real fun is going to start!
By the way... My car will gap that GP...
@@peaceup5519do u have it on your ig? u should make a yt video on it
@@peaceup5519 I feel that MINI lies about the specs of their cars, specially the John Cooper Works models. I own a 2019 JCW 3 door hatch and it actually feels faster than MINI says. A friend of mine (he owns a Lamborghini Huracan actually and a Mazda 3 btw) drove it before I started to modify it. His reactions were like: WTH is this?! It’s amazing to drive! I know why you actually love your car and it feels faster than MINI says about its specs. It doesn’t have a lot of mods (only APR Repro Stage 1 and the JCW Pro Exhaust) but it feels pretty good.

When I saw this car up for sale at my local mini dealership I was worried that no one had made a review of it yet. Being a super unusual car. But to my surprise, here come Mr. Doug Muro!! I could t believe my eyes. I love your reviews and was super excited to see this one! Thank you so much for this review. And please keep up the amazing reviews man!!!

I saw Doug's review while researching the GP3 and bought the GP3 this week. It's my first Mini Cooper vehicle. Love it. My only complaint is I wish the exhaust was more aggressive.
Drill holes in the exhaust.
@@ohioman4646 nah for a car like this get some good stuff if it was a beater then yeah
Cars driving on streets have to be muffled because driving in areas where other people live. Not a race car driving only on race-tracks.
Doesn't it have a valved exhaust? If not, get the JCW valvetronic exhaust. It's a bit more of a high flowing exhaust with the valves closed, but with them open, it's basically straight piped.
I had mini countryman as a first car.
It was dead reliable, great fuel efficiency and overall loaded with space! 😊

@@theFORZA66 I'm thinking using a power washer on my $50K Mini seems like a great idea. Especially if it is leased.
Imagine this thing in a rallie and weighing a hundred pounds more (if not worse) at the end of the race.
This car is $9000 away from a C8 corvette. Let that sink in.
No it isn't. Because no C8 corvette has sold for MSRP. They are all going way over asking price because Chevy / dealers are scumbags. If you're going to advertise a car for $59k then sell it for $59k. Chevy sucks.
In 10 years you will sell this mini for way more than its MSRP, I wonder at what price the 2020 C8 corvette will go in 2030 🤔
@@SioulDuRoy in 5 years all of the bmw parts will be this cars undoing...
@@SioulDuRoy What are you smoking? In 10 years these cars will have depreciated by atleast 50%. Bet you they will be going for about 15k in 10 years. Too many unreliable bmw parts not to mention the engine is making alot of power for a 4 cylinder, so I can see these having a ton of issues.
I worked for MINI for 15 years. These will all be trashed in 10 years. 80% will be falling apart and the rest will definitely be worth WAAAY less than half they’re worth now.
Way to go Doug! I just love how you pay attention to detail on every car. No contender trust me!! Well done Sir!!!

"... didn't have a manual that can handle the power and torque"
Honda: "weak"
No one makes a FWD manual as well as Honda. Everyone I've driven has been fantastic.
Hahahaha, perfect Track Car for Ladies!
@@TryHarderPlease I will respectfully disagree. The shifter feels too light, arcade-y and "not connected". Clutch pedals are too small and too light. Clutch biting/grabbing point feels too "economy" car. Modern ones have overly-intrusive rev hang + clutch delay valve.
In comparison, anything Italian, German or British will have better overall gearbox feel.
Sasa Zapadnik I personally hate any FWD manual cars. Go drive a Camaro, corvette or even a dodge dually and you’ll never go back. Being able to move the shifter at all while in gear is unacceptable.
A real bisexual petrol-head no but y’all seem like car enthusiasts who would enjoy a firm manual trans. I’ll never buy another automatic Honda again, most unreliable turds ever. Literally looking at 5 civics and an accord in the yard right now. All blown automatic transmissions. Hell one I bought only made it 100 miles before it took a shit.
I’m really not a fan of anything fwd unless it’s just a gas saver car. Even then my corvette gets 32 or so freeway and my accord only got like 28. Kind of silly cars since they don’t do anything well. The civics get like 35, I had one hybrid that got 60 though. That’s the only one I miss
minis are so fun cuz they really do handle like a go cart, they feel so much faster cuz of how low and small they are

@Conor Your Golf R does 0-60 in 3.5 seconds? I think you meant half a second faster.
This isn't hatch. It's a mini!
@Conor Still more fun than a Golf R 🤷♂️ 0-60 doesn't make much difference to how good a car is.

Hey Doug, you forgot to count the lap design at the door for GP badges. It is designed to look like a lap but is the initial GP so if its on both doors , thats 10.
youre welcome & thx for the 🔥 videos !
I used to drive an 04 Mini Cooper S, and my god that was a fun car. I've driven Velosters and civics, but I've never had as much fun in a front wheel drive car as I did in that mini
I have a 2003 R50 Cooper with only 21,000 miles. I finally starting driving it more and my old pick-up truck less. It handles and shifts (Midland 5-speed) very well and is fun to drive, I never notice it needing more power, 112 HP is fine with me....
I drive a 2013 R55 JCW clubman…after 4 years, I still have a blast flinging it through the corners. The car is such a sleeper.
Doug at 21:23:
'There's a lot of torque steer.'
...
Doug, three seconds later:
'Not a lot of torque steer'
He was correcting himself because he didn't want to insult a car for such a flaw when there are other cars with much worse torque steer...
great video thanks doug
I have a 2016 mini and I wish I could afford to upgrade to this thing.... once you drive a mini and feel for its amazing handling, visibility and overall acceleration you cant go back. I do see how the torq steer can be am issue though seeing that I have this same issue with my mini even though its way less powerful
I was really excited about this until I saw it has a DCT system and no MT available. Then I wept a bit. No thanks, Mini. If I’m gonna drop that kind of coin on a car, I’d like to row my own gears.
wait... there’s no fuckin manual gp :/
I cri evrytim
Many people are really excited about MT and choose not to buy one. Big sad, even GM dumped Manual Transmission on the corvettes. .
대한건우 it makes me sad that there’s so many “fake” manual lovers. I drive a manual every single day. I don’t plan on stopping unless my body physically doesn’t allow me to.
Racingboom The Pleb same here, I daily a Mini Cooper S and i refuse to buy any future cars with an auto thanks to the 6mt in the mini. Not even hard to live with everyday people are just lazy and complain. It’s one less thing to break anyway.
I’ve only owned 2 AT cars ever. All of my other vehicles have been MT. It’s getting harder and harder to find them.
I love this car! Two no-go’s for me though: no backseat, and no manual.
I was going to say - no auto-carwash, no go ... =-P
Kryojenix ditto. It’d be a total buy for me if it had backseats. It would be ultimate run about car but no back seats ahhh I’d just get normal sports car instead
My issue with it is the fact that it's $30k above my price range. And Civic Type R just seems better in nearly every way to me. its practical, same power, manual, reliable, and $10k cheaper.
People who make this car be like: you don't understand, you don't reject this car, the car rejects you
Dont forget, no power seats. Absolutely outrageous.
Doug.. I truly Love your Videos! I really Do! HONESTLY! Is there any way that your videos won't be interrupted with advertisements EVERY minute?
22:22 " but... I don't know I- *_ee heee_* "
Who is actually going to buy this besides hard-core mini guys? I know he mentioned the type R and a Golf R but both of those are much more functional, and also not 50k.
And it is absolutely hideous..
lol, me. (hard-core mini gal). I believe the limited availability is because they know this car is for a very niche crowd.
And have back seats lol
Because this car is the king of handling , it is much faster around a track than the others , that’s the difference and the sacrifice of having no back seat with all that chassis bracing. This is the kind of Mini for a person who has another one already for daily driving and this is the weekend track star.
I dont care for hot hatches but i really want this. It looks like a little race car. Ive never owned or wanted to own a mini cooper until i saw this one.

Hey Doug, great to see you in a Mini again! Is there a chance to watch you reviewing the Mini Cooper Electric soon?
Doug: Uploads
Depression rates: Drop to zero
Doug: This is a race car, how can you have power seats?!
Also Doug: This mini has manual seats. It would be nice to have manual seats at $50,000
Power seats at 50k*?
Power seats weigh loads :/
Though they don't actually seem to be too bothered about weight saving on this "track car", with a big infotainment system etc...
I thought the biggest thing wrong with that sentence was the $50,000. I had a r53 jcw, that car was a lot of fun. I'm sure this one is as well, I personally wouldn't spend that kind of money on it but I'm a fan of analog gauges and manual transmissions. The old school petrol head in me doesn't care for all the digital gauges and slush boxes. I get they are quicker shifts but I like being connected to the car.
I actually saw one of these things the other day. Pretty cool.
This is 80k in Australia - car prices here never cease to amaze me.
Those wheel arch panels look like the temporary packaging that you’re supposed to take off when you get a new washing machine.
Whatever your thoughts on the GP, I will always appreciate Mini's desire to keep driving fun! So many car companies today are obsessed with simplifying and distracting from the driving process, wanting the driver to forget the thrill of being behind the wheel. I drive an F56 and for better or worse, a smile always come across my face when I sit in her, see the pulsing START button, and the winking Mini logo on the speedometer screen. Mini is happy to have me and I'm happy to have her ;)
Thanks a good comment.. same here
Doug's THIIISSSSSSSS is getting more and more epic.
They did the aerofoils over the wheels, rather than widen the body, because everything JCW does is "bolt on." This means JCW designs all the changes, catalogs all the parts, and sends them to their plant for installation. BMW/Mini doesn't make any changes to the vehicle, prior to the JCW modifications.
0:45 Can't wait for the review of Chevrolet's new "subcompact SUV".
Get into a fender bender and you're doomed with your "production number" panel thing
And hand washing this car is gonna be a pain with does weird panels.
But I still like it.
You'd be able to buy new panels from Mini as long as you have the VIN. (that's what they've done with previous GP models at least) I can't imagine they'd be cheap though.
Ikr? That's what i was thinking....
MrManBuzz woof yeah I bet 🤑
no problem, just stop in at Home Depot and they will cut up some new plywood panels that your can paint with house paint and put plastic stickers on
Cool review. I had a 2005 Mini Cooper S. It was a harsh ride but so much fun. The backseats were useless because the car is so small so I spent most of the time with them down anyway. The cargo room was surprisingly large with the seats down. Enough for a large flat screen tv.
I used to track my Cooper S. It was a bit underpowered on the straights but so amazingly fast on the twisty bits. Many more powerful cars couldn't keep up when the track got twisty. I am sure this car would step it up a notch on those track days. My Mini had a great manual transmission. It is a shame that this is not an option on this version.
Great review Doug. Thanks.
I had an ‘07 S/JCW convertible, back when the car was right-sized and the interior/exterior styling was clean and simple. Loved every minute driving that car; solid and no cowl shake even on northern NJ roads.
Why would it be surprisingly large with seats down? It would be surprising if it were small with seats down.
