    I have been a cross ecosystem user for years (I truly hate the iPhone but love Macs and iPads - I know I am weird). I use windows and MacOS laptops daily both with an Android phone and generally have very few problems (I have not been an iMessage user in years so no loss there). I've been pondering about getting a Galaxy Book for university (computer science) because i have a samsung phone, samsung tablet and windows desktop. But the Galaxy Books 3 pro version and non don't look like finished prducts. They overheat too easily, lack power when unpluged and have low autonomy, all things that are really important in a laptop. For the same price you can get all this things with a macbook, but loosing all the samsung echosystem...

    • @dr00by
      @dr00by 8 місяців тому +1

      @@engel2702 I don't think a samsung branded laptop is really necessary. Just install link to windows and set it up with your phone. The Samsung integration is way ahead of the regular android implementation and IMO the BEST feature is being able to sync/share your clipboard between devices. Crop screenshot something on your PC and you can immediately pick up your phone and paste the image in a message.

    • @stevebauman
      @stevebauman 7 місяців тому +1

      @engel2702 Don't get a Galaxy Book. Go for a MacBook. I eventually bought a Galaxy Book 360 Pro (returned), then a Galaxy Book Ultra (returned), then finally a new MacBook Pro M2. Both the Galaxy Books had the same bluetooth connectivity issues, and the Galaxy Book Ultra bluescreened on the first day of use, and the quality of the touchpads and keyboards were subpar, not even in the same ballpark. The screens however were gorgeous (both OLED), but they were the only thing that was good about these laptops.
      Windows 11 is still awful, and the Samsung ecosystem with their laptops is buggy, unintuitive, and flat out ugly.

    the key point here is which one suits you the best. I used to own an iPhone and a Macbook. I realized that they are really convenient for me given the synchronization between Apple's devices. But when my iPhone's battery started to show bad performance, I switched to a Samsung S23, which I found initially a bit less convenient. Yet, I still gave it a try. After few months living with Macbook and Samsung phone, I feel... nothing much to complain. Clearly having something to work with in the ecosystem is great, but it doesn't mean you must follow procedure if you don't really need it.

    I would like to see a comparison between the two ecosystems for sure…I struggle with really wanting to break out of the Apple ecosystem since I have been it so long for a change but damn it’s hard.

      The samsung ecosystem is great and you have choices. I use phone, buds, tablet, and laptop. There us really nothing apple offers that I can do. Again, I have choices of devices and get way more for my money. Storage is a great example. I had the MacBook air 2017 before and while it was good and I used it with my galaxy s20, I still get more from the Samsung ecosystem.

      The eco systems (purely samsung products that is) are almost the exact same. I’ve literally got both eco systems and the differences are marginal at best. Just comes down to what you prefer.

    I'm using an iPhone as a personal device and Windows laptop for work and it makes total sense when you said that there's no disturbance from your phone while doing some intense work. I like the iPhone bcoz it simply works and Windows bcoz I've been using it for decades now and it's simply gotten very better now.

    Yeah, I tried, but went back to iPhone after a while... I use Airdrop too much to let it go and I love the copy link/text on my phone and paste it on my laptop (and vice-versa). I love Android phones, but I only have macs (at home a mini, at work an iMac and a Macbook Pro in my bag), so I could not give up the perks, earbuds, everything involved in the process. If you only have an Android, yes, you can make it work, but if you have to choose between an iPhone and a Samsung, I think you should pick the iPhone 10 times out of 10.

    The airdrop segment was pretty weak, you're assuming anyone with a Samsung phone has a Samsung laptop which just isn't the case. And the alternatives like uploading the google drive etc aren't basically the same as airdrop which JUST an extra step, the time it takes to upload and download those files is also a factor. Cuz yknow, not everyone has blazing fast internet

    Loved the bloopers..... My Note 9 is restarting very 5 minutes so I'm looking at a new phone. Have to admit I-Phones cameras are (IMO) almost as good as Galaxy ones.. Looking at the pixel 7 and 7a but the 128GB is limiting. Looking at an unlocked s23 ultra and IPhone 14 too. any thoughts? Also, I think I will see what goes on sale during Prime days....

      @maze40 - I just the S23U to replace the iPhone 13 PM (that's in the draw now) & it was because of the lack of a decent zoom on the iphone. We were going on a scenic cruise and the S23U gave us some fantastic shots that several friends have remarked on...

    I use an S23+ with a Macbook Pro (personal machine) and an HP Laptop (work machine). And I really love the ability to use Google messages regardless of the platform I’m on. I also have my Google profile loaded on both machines so I can use Google Drive with both machines. The one thing I don’t like is taking notes. Neither One Note or Google Keep are my favorite note taking apps. I really loved both Apple Notes and Samsung Notes but they are both platform specific. At the end of the day I do like having mixed setup. I think Apple has the best laptops and tablets. And I think Samsung has the best phones. I don’t know that I’ll ever go back to the walled garden completely, ever again. Great video and thanks

    I had an android with a MacBook for a while since Mac is better in terms of performance, and I will say it’s not super bad. Not being able to move files was annoying but remember android is basically a computer so u could do whatever there instead and I’m usually using my phone in addition to the laptop to multitask in terms of texting, switching to iPhone definitely makes the experience much more convenient but it’s nothing super duper necessary

    I am considering buying a macbook Air as i wanna get into editing videos and photos, but i own a Samsung s23 ultra, which i just bought. I am worried that most apps on the macbook would be paid for as opposed to the android. Plus, i am worried about how they would work well together. In terms of transferring files back and forth. Please help! 🙏🏽

    Samsung phone and MacBook user here. I quit iPhones back around iPhone 5 and haven't missed it one bit. I just recently picked up a MacBook Pro and find it to be a great laptop for the Adobe range of products and design work I do on it. I still use a PC for my main computer/desktop and that will never change. I use the iPad a lot for illustrating and wanted it to be a bit easier to move files back and forth from there to computer programs, and that's why I decided on the MacBook. While I am overall happy with my MacBook, it's a bit clunky in areas and frustrates me to no end that it doesn't work easier with Android/PC when it comes to simple things like file sharing. But as you said, there are work arounds and I make do.

    This was good. I have always used Android phones, and I started using Macs in 2007. I don't want an iPhone, nor a PC. I usually use Dropbox to transfer photos and some text. It's easy to do, but it is rather piecemeal since I can only move 9 photos at a time. I'm not interested in doing phone things, like texting, on my laptop. That might be interesting though. I'm more interested in file transfers. I can plug in cords, yes, and will need to do that to get a mass of photos from the phone in a shorter timespan. I saw a video about some apps for doing that. Maybe you can talk about that. Thank you. My current phone is the S23 Ultra, and I love it.
