Lovely video Kyle, I think the best balance to use Macs is to utilize the most features of the native OS and add on a few apps that can add more to the experience. Will be looking for the MacOS Sequoia stable version review from you.
@@jansix4287 pffff I haven't used it once since getting the trackpad. If I need a mouse I use my Logitech MX. The Magic Mouse is trash. I wish I never bought it.
I have not found a mouse that I love for everything either. I currently have the Mx master 3s and it is the best. But what I have found is that mouse combined with the trackpad works great. I set the trackpad out of the way when the mouse is sufficient. But for those tasks, even MindNode where I pinch/zoom and move around, I find pulling the track pad out is where it’s at.
Some really great information. Love your vids and how helpful they are for new Mac users. I’m a windows expert but feel kinda lost in Mac. Your videos help make sense of it for me. Thanks!😊
You don’t unlock your Mac with your Watch? I find that one of the greatest of conveniences in the Apple ecosystem. Watch unlocks iPhone. iPhone unlocks Watch. Watch unlocks Mac Mini and MBA. For that reason, I’m not convinced to try the Magic Keyboard. Logitech’s MX Master keyboard is my winner, as it can work with my MBA, or Mac Mini. Backlit keys, too. I also use a Magic Trackpad, as the Magic Mouse doesn’t have the same gestures as a MBA trackpad, which confuses my fingers. Having a huge Magic Trackpad next to my MBA is also handy, as I don’t have to scrunch my shoulders to use the built-in trackpad, and the Magic Trackpad offers a much bigger space, useful for a man when doing three finger and four finger gestures.
I honestly don’t like the Apple Watch. I’ve had 2 at different times and I just don’t like it. BUT! The one thing I love is to be able to unlock all my devices with it. Especially since my print has never worked on any device.
Hey Kyle, I am curious, how long have you been using your macbook in clampshell mode? Also, do you limit the charge to 80% to preserve the battery life? If so, How do you do it?
Love your set-up. And I'd love to put my M1 Macbook Air on a vertical stand like yours, but my Macbook makes me log in using the built-in Mac keyboard. It won't let me use the external USB keyboard (or any USB peripherals) until after my password is entered. Any idea why that is? It's really annoying. Thanks for another inspiring video!
If you're using a third party keyboard and you have filevault disk encryption enabled, I believe this is the default behavior. You could try turning it off if you're comfortable with it (even temporarily) to see if that is in fact the issue
I’ve gotta ask what would you recommend for photography video/a little gaming monitor connectivity best value for your buck monitor all around try not to spend more than 700 bucks. If you have any recommendations that would be great thank you so much love your content..
I know you’re not asking me, but as someone who has bought almost 20 monitors over the last few years, I would like to recommend anything from Sceptre. I know I have a 32in that has 99srgb rating on 1080p 240hz .1ms response. Great for color accuracy on color and gaming. And it’s only like $230 or something.
Lots of different options out there, and that's not really a one word answer. So much goes into selecting the right hub, that a comments section probably won't be of much help to be completely honest
Try some type of the line gaming mice the Logitech MX master is so laggy. The pooling rate is so slow reaction time horrible. The macro buttons do not compensate for the slow reaction. Time of this mice.
Fun fact, your MacBook Pro’s screen can extend your desktop space, by kinda a lot. I don’t get why you and anyone is wasting the fact you have more screen space and you’re wasting it.
I don't like having two screens for the exact reason I went over here - I find it extremely distracting, and depending on where the screens sit it can give me headaches. If you like it another way that's fine. Not everyone has to be the same.

Great information as always! I am limping my 2017 Mac along until the M4. I will definitely be coming back to this video to set it up
Thank you!
Literally me, luckily I have an M1 iMac to bridge the gap but my intel MacBook has served it’s time 😂
That’s insane you beat me. I has a 2017 Mac Pro but on m3 max now
This is good content Kyle , please keep them coming !

I always go for Magic Trackpad over a mouse.
yup, agree with you. Use the macbook on the desk instead of clamshell mode, you get another great screen + magic trackpad + touch id
💯
Nope, the Magic Mouse is still far superior. 🐁
@@jansix4287 it’s personal preference

The content you have made about Mac helped a lot when I was choosing between which model and specs should I go for , thanks a lot

The safety of Bartender, after change of ownership, has been of concern recently. Bartender asks for permission to record your Mac screen, btw.
Nice video! I'd be interested in seeing your actual work-flow sometimes. Keep making these videos!
how do you avoid "dust" to build up on your desk? how often do you have to clean it?
Great video, informative and helpful as always! Took a few tips away and purchased the wallpaper pack there, love it!
Thank you

Hmm, is there a video for your browser choice and setup?
I too use the Magic Keyboard but for the mouse I've found I prefer the Logi MX Anywhere 3 because it travels so well size wise.
I already ordered the MX keys mini from the Previous video you posted from Magic vs MX keys vs Keychron... R.I.P. did get the logi mouse though!!
What mouse and keyboard. I like the trackpad but sometimes it’s easier to use a mouse

It would be great to see how you create these amazing videos
what did your family think was goin on in get out?

Are you considering integrating vlogging into your content creation? Instead of always using the same filming setup.
No
That wallpaper though!!! Anyone got it ?
Great vdo💌🤟
why not just press the dnd button?
Hi Kyle, could you make a dedicated video on all the Mac Apps that you use?
Possibly... the problem is, a lot of them are specialized and really all over the place, so I'm not sure how much value it would hold for most folks.
@@KyleErickson would have value to me :))
just install parallels desktop
you said you use the mx master cuz of the mission control you can just use MAC MOUSE FIX the best mouse shortcuts app ever
