Just switched from iOS to Android. 14 Pro Max to a Pixel 7 Pro. I'm happy with it. Instead of iCloud I use Google services. It does the same stuff except it works on EVERY platform. So..... Whatever. The apple watch is what brought me into the iOS ecosystem originally, but when I discovered that I couldn't simply get it to display stats for all calories burned instead of "active calories" I was over it. My 14 Pro Max has shutter lag. It's not perfect. This video comes across as someone who isn't tech savvy instead of someone who is haha.
I was recently considering switching when I saw the S23 Ultra. Something about that phone was making me strongly consider Android for the first time in a LONG time (and I was an Android user from back in the day). And then I realized that I went ALL IN with Apple. My entire household uses iPhones and iPads, I have a stereo pair of the OG HomePods, I have a 1st Gen AppleTV 4K, I have owned over the years 3 different MBPs. The only thing that’s missing is an Apple Watch, but I’m working on that. All of this started because the iPhone 4 was my gateway drug. Leaving all of this would be a literal nightmare because of the process.
Not really a nightmare, just expensive. That is, if you're trying to do it all at once, though. But the Android ecosystem is way cheaper. There's just way more stuff. And because the Android ecosystem is composed of multiple companies, it give consumer the opportunities to pick and choose which companies version of a product they would want. But with apple, everything works out of the box, so it's way simpler to set up. And there is no need to think about which one you're going to buy since you're only given the one choice. I've been telling people who are in the Apple ecosystem that are interested in trying Android that maybe they should just buy an Android and hotspot it. Or make the Android the daily driver and hotspot the iPhone. Having an extra phone in you're pocket doesn't make that much of a difference.
That’s how they get you, I switched back to Apple back in September. I had Samsung for 10+ years. All I got was the 14 Pro, the watch, and the AirPods. I am paying off this phone and switching back to Samsung next year. There is just so much more freedom and things you can do on Samsung that you can’t do an iPhone. It’s easier to use, and the cameras are insanely better. The only thing I’ve liked on iPhone is the mute switch, the edit sent messages feature, and airdrop. That’s about it.
I absoulutely love the fact that I can send messages on my Mac Laptop, without having to pick up my phone. It keeps me in the zone when I'm reading or doing something on my Laptop, and it saves me having to constantly pick up my phone to see if I've missed any messages! I also really love Focus Mode, and use it a lot as a law student. Plus, my Journal App, Day One, and my recent To-Do List app, Things 3, are Mac only. I had the HTC One M8 ages ago, and while I dd really like that phone, Android at that time was still super buggy, and the fragmentation with my family's group chats and with the bugginess, made me switch back.
On windows + android you have something like "Connect with phone" - you have whole phone emulator on your computer screen and can use all applications and messaging remotely. Calls and everything working through your computer, also if you want you can use camera ect.
Samsung Pay (on my Note 9) works very well from where I am from. 😊 I was thinking of switching over to iPhone because I am using a 2nd gen iPad Pro to make transfer of videos and photos seamlessly but nah…the freedom of using the manual control without a 3rd party app is too important (no need to pay😂). As you said towards the end of your video, does not matter what phone you use as long as you enjoy it.
Same! Now that I'm firmly on the Android side I'm keen to find all the things that would counter some of the arguments against it and there certainly are many! Windows' phone link enables messaging from a PC, installing the Microsoft keyboard on the phone enables copy + pasting across devices, and just recently, Google released a beta for Nearby Share on Windows. I'm honestly thinking what's gonna end up happening is we're gonna have two exclusive ecosystems (Apple & Windroid) and it's gonna purely be a matter of preference.
when you can't even continue download in the background, it's a deal breaker for me. I don't use wearables cause I think it's useless. And I try to keep finding 3.5 jack a necessity.
The shutter lag you mention and the specific example you use on the S23 Ultra is only present when you are taking a full res 200 megapixels photo. It is not present in all other photo taking scenarios. The phone takes a fraction of a second to process the size of the image. Please use more accurate examples or specify the circumstances in which the shutter lag is present.
💯 Exactly. He mentioned great points but tye camera example is not accurate. Using full res will take a bit longer to process, but it's not lag,it's a 200 mp image being processed, so there will be a delay. Pics taking with normal camera resolution is instant, just like iphone14 pro max. I have both so I can attest to it.
I have two phones, Android and iOS so best of both world and unbiased and not a clickbaiting MO. I would say the combo of both is ideal and they work together great as there is nothing missing; if one does not have it, the other will. If you have only one then prioritise what is best for you, and go with the flow.
Very well said. I have I am iphone user since iphone 3G and now tote iphone 15PM. Planning to buy S24 ultra so that I can enjoy best of both operating system.
What camera lag? Your lag looks like it's one of the camera programs you have active. You know, like how there is portrait, photo, etc...regular photo doesn't have any lag. The only time I've seen that lag you're talking about is with night photos and the AI enhancement on
Yes ,iPhone is smooth and more optimised but doesn't mean that it doesnt lag or drop frames,I have iPhone 13 pro and I have no games installed just social media stuff and browsing ,but I m suprised that it does drop frame to like 60 Hz occasionally, yes ,I love how apps opens with my iPhone but it does lag at times
One thing i learned from using both platforms is that google photos is far sueprior to icloud. Th fact that you can have your collection of photos stored in the cloud on your device without having to use a browser/computer is a huge plus. But android phones are always buggy, the software fluidity is far superior in apple devices. Iphones have terrible battery life
Andriod has a way to share Wifi passwords easy. Go to your wifi settings click on your wifi network settings and than on the QR code icon . And the friend/family member that you want to connect to your network needs to click on the QR code icon on there phone in the wifi settings and scan your QR code. Then in connects automatic. That works with every Android device 😉
Google Pay on my Pixel 7 Pro was noticeable worse than Apple Pay on my iPhone. My bank in Germany supports both Apple and Google Pay natively so there is not much of a difference. But when using the phone to pay the iPhone worked 10 out of 10 times in nearly 4 years of using it. The Pixel was like every 10th time the phone had something to complain like you moved the phone to fast or just random errors. Some credit card terminals didn't worked at all with Google Pay but worked perfectly with Apple Pay.
So essentially, rich people problems lol. Jk. I made a switch from android to iPhone and I’m still not liking the experience. Don’t use Mac, don’t have smart watch so ecosystem doesn’t matter to me. I guess it just that using one OS for so long, muscle memory on things you can do don’t transfer over. And that could be from gestures to processes to get things done.
Great video. May I ask, where did you get your orange watch strap from - did that come with the watch? I cannot find that one on the Apple website, just a red one, thanks. Please keep the videos coming, they are always very interesting and entertaining.
That’s the stock one that came with the ultra! But I know Nomad makes a very bright orange one too 😬 Thank you Toria! Great to see people enjoying them!
I love android. My s23 ultra is awesome. I always end up going back to apple though. I’m getting an iPhone 15 pro max soon. Idk what it is about apple that keeps pulling me back. Idk if it’s the ecosystem or iMessage or what, or everything. I always go back.
The shutter lag is not a problem when ypu *_dont use the max resolution_*. Set it to full screen ratio qnd no shutter lag. For capturing moving objects use burat shot. Swipe down on the shutter button.
I always just dip my toe in the Apple pond as I don't want to get stuck. I think if you're technical it's fun to mix and match. I have Androids, Windows, Linux, Alexa, and an iPod touch. Everything plays well together except the iPod, because Apple, but Apple does have quality services like Apple TV and iTunes that run on non Apple devices.
@@jakubmrozik7964 the reason why it's because switching to Android phone from iPhone doesn't have a apple watch or iPad or even a iMac. Or something like that.
It’s pretty clear where he’s at with that Apple Watch Ultra dominating his wrist. These videos are fabricated to generate UA-cam content. Also likely edited on a Mac with Final Cut Pro.
Apple doesn’t want to adopt RCS instead of SMS is because iMessage is their gate keeper. Funny though because Apple could adopt RCS and still keep iMessage.
I dont have imessage, apple watch. I use a dslr taking photos, I dont pay with my phone. I like the android os. I can put an sd card in it. I also have a headphone jack on my sony xperia and samsung s10e. I can multitask on my sony xperia no iphone can ever do. I dont see any advantage of the iphone. Its all worse than android.
I have used Google Pay to pay for anything, from exclusive eateries, to street food trucks, rural petrol stations and shady online stores... Never did I have any trouble completing a payment!
Hey so there's this calendar app called morgen. It's primarily for windows + macs but also have a beta android version maybe have a look at that cuz they have a very compelling windows app with integrations etc.
Years ago I bought the Note 8 and was fine with it. Previous to that I always had an iPhone. Then several years ago I came back to Apple IPhone because I missed how music was organized with iTunes. That was my iPhone 11 which i still use. I still have the Note 8 and occasionally switch my sims card from the iPhone to the Note 8. I ordered and received the S 22 Ultra. I had the 22 Ultra for a few days when i had to make so many changes from what I was use to with the iPhone, that I returned the S22 Ultra. The Apple Eco System lured me back. I really like how my Mac Mini and my iPhone and Apple Watch and my EarPods Pro work so seamlessly. I want to go back and use the S23 Ultra but it would require changing so many things that run smooth with Apple. I am waiting for the next Apple Event that will show the iPhone 15 and see what it has to offer. I wish the Android Eco System was more cohesive and organized like Apple.
I am an iphone user who recently switched to android and realized how much ios platform lags. iPhone is at least 2 years(if not more) behind android in features.
I'm in no hurry to get another Android phone. After using a Samsung S3 happily for years, I tried a Nokia because of its security updates & while the security updates came through regularly the Android version updates were a buggy nightmare. So, three years ago I bought an iphone 7 & couldn't be happier. Even in 2023 it still gets security updates.
Ok if I’m wrong I’ll admit it. But in regards to shutter lag ur showing inside shots with low light. Bot platforms do it in night shot. Different in day time outside 😊
My apple experience hasn't been so smooth as the iPeople make it out to be. My iphones have lagged, closed apps, completely restarted, locked me out, etc., and then they generally break easier. S23U has been a breath of fresh air. The things I've used as far as apps are easily subbed in android and the feature set of Samsung flagship phones are second to none. Dex kills any advantage apple has as far as transferring files and multitasking, true multitasking, is very welcomed.
When a lot of people tell you it’s really easy to switch I think it depends on what region you live in. Like what’s app it’s really popular here in the US as iMessage. The only people that I know that uses what’s app is my dad but it’s because he communicates to people outside the US. Everyone that I know uses iMessage and FaceTime
If you have a big physical music library it’s so easy to put it into iTunes then sync it to iPhone, yes the omission of Fantastical calendar in android seems perplexing
I really don't have any shutter lag on my s23 ultra or on my note 20 ultra. I really don't understand all the hating on Samsung cameras because mine takes photos instantly. S23 ultra is a very nice phone and I don't miss iphone at all ,it has been a few years since I have had one though. They are all nice now a days. Android is a nice option if you want a mid range phone also. You can save a lot of money if you want. The new iphone and Samsung flagships are getting pretty spendy. I don't care about iMessage. My android makes calls and texts just fine , don't care what color my bubble is.
While Samsung reduced its shutterlag it's not really shutterlag, iPhone uses faster shutterspeed resulting in sharper photos when subject is moving. Samsung uses a slower shutter to get details out of shadows. Your video is quite misleading as u used 50 or the 200mp mode, to show how slow shutterlag is. Taking regular 12mp pics doesn't process that long. But I get your point trying to exaggerate.
I switched a few years back, was a lil hard but i was tired of apple. Its worth it. Loving my Pixel 7 now. Edit: I dont know why, but pixel does not have that shutter lag you are talking about, is it possible if that is only on HDR mode? PS: You should try Pixel watch, much better than samsung watch.
if you had all your devices samsung the ecosystem is pretty great to but you can't expect your apple divice3s to work with adroid and that is an apple problem
Also consider this depending on the android brands there’s few cases for them. Look at the zenfone 9 or Motorola very few companies make dust proof or any type of cases
I switched to Android 2 weeks ago and I hate it. Every app I download has freaking ads and it's non stop lol the pod cast was hard for me. Texting is horrible on Samsung. Switching back to apple very soon
Who’s going to tell him that apple actually has more apps on iPhone apps due to its policy than android? Who’s going to tell him that android has a built in ad blocking service, who’s going to tell him that FREE APPS NEEF ADS YOU IDIOT FOR MONEY TO CONTINUE MAKING THE GAME
I was against Apple until the company I work for forced me to use the MacBook, and I fell in love with it and could not imagine myself using any other laptop. I have an Android but it's a Samsung and Samsung have their on mini ecosystem. But if Samsung did not exist I would definitely move to iPhone
As a Android user I too found it difficult to change to Apple phone, and honestly I despise the thing. But it has taught me one thing, it ain’t smart at all, and I will not fear AI like they want me to.
I went the other way 2 years ago feeling board with android and just wanted to try something different but the Apple Watch ultra is the main reason I haven’t went back and a few other things I’ve learned to like. I do miss a universal back gesture ,google assistant.

@@shiroshnur It does if they're over £1000 each. Expensive is an understatement.
@@shiroshnur that what I do, iphone is my daily while I carry my fold z 4 with me.
So know your are property of Apple, that´s not something to be proud of....
Samsung Camera Assistant app fixes the shutter lag. Sunbird app will be available this summer. To end the green bubble war that Apple created.
Traded in my iPhone years ago. To simple and basic. Android all the way
I absoulutely love the fact that I can send messages on my Mac Laptop, without having to pick up my phone.
Here in the United States, many Americans thinks that not having iMessage is an immediate Death Sentence.
Put an i in front of anything and apple sheep think it's the greatest thing in the world.
2:35 Just noticed that the shutter lag happened mostly because you made a photo with 200MP.
You can quick share files from samsung to apple through a link and dont lose quality at all
It's just sad that samsung doesn't really promote quick share, but it works EXACTLY like air drop.
meanwhile my switch was so smoth. I cant complain. Exiting Apple ecosystem was so easy for me and I am happy for it.
Same my friend!
Thank you I'm not the only one who noticed that. Its very disingenuous the way he used that mode to say it lags
When I tried taking low light pictures of my son the pictures were soft and lacked detail unfortunately.
Do you keep your SIM in the Android and then use iMessage on the iPhone? How do you use both daily?
The nightmare is created by Apple. Not Android
Optimized for what?
You just need both of them.
I'm a long term Android user and Google Phone specifically (Nexus and Pixel) but I recently bought an iPhone with AirPods
One thing i learned from using both platforms is that google photos is far sueprior to icloud. Th fact that you can have your collection of photos stored in the cloud on your device without having to use a browser/computer is a huge plus. But android phones are always buggy, the software fluidity is far superior in apple devices. Iphones have terrible battery life
No bank issues in the US and Samsung is the one with smoothness problems. OnePlus and Pixel phones haven't had lag or smoothness issues.... Ever
Samsung Pay works fine for me
The scene is entirely different in India ,where Google pay is the most used and their is no apple pay at all 😂
honestly i switched to android and i have no regrets, the onyl thing i miss is the apple watch
I replaced all of my Google apps with Samsung (except Speech services, Android System Webview, Play services, and PlayStore) on my Galaxy A71.
Yeah the muscle memory is a big thing to get over initially, particularly with the keyboard I found!
The camera delay timer on android can set to 0 or 10 sec. It is use to allow peeps to set up for a selfe
Great video. May I ask, where did you get your orange watch strap from - did that come with the watch? I cannot find that one on the Apple website, just a red one, thanks. Please keep the videos coming, they are always very interesting and entertaining.
That’s the stock one that came with the ultra! But I know Nomad makes a very bright orange one too 😬
Thank you Toria!
Swipe down on the shutter button.
burst shot.
Somehow, I'm jealous that everyone has iphone and I don't. 😢 Plus, the android phone really is a nightmare.😅
Why is it a nightmare?
@@jakubmrozik7964 the reason why it's because switching to Android phone from iPhone doesn't have a apple watch or iPad or even a iMac. Or something like that.
For us Google pay is so so much widely used than any other app. We have upi which is convenient af
UPI? Are you from India? I was reading a case study how they have the largest banking system and its surprisingly one of the most efficient ones.
@@eg8049 yeah I'm from India upi is amazing
@@vedaryan334 cool
Refuse to use apple pay or google wallet. Either one penalizes the bank or the merchant with fees.
Still wearing the Apple Watch though.
😉
Bro switched at least a 100 times between ios and andriod and still cant figure where to settle
It’s pretty clear where he’s at with that Apple Watch Ultra dominating his wrist. These videos are fabricated to generate UA-cam content. Also likely edited on a Mac with Final Cut Pro.
Android pay in the US has none of these issues..
Apple doesn’t want to adopt RCS instead of SMS is because iMessage is their gate keeper. Funny though because Apple could adopt RCS and still keep iMessage.
I think most of the people in western countries usually have two phones one as iphone other any android (most samsung)
Which video editing software or app you using? Thanks!!!😊
Final Cut!
The payment situation is kinda opposite in India. Google pay supported in almost every nook and corner
Samsung pay too
Yupp samsung pay too while apple pay is not available in India
I dont have imessage, apple watch. I use a dslr taking photos, I dont pay with my phone. I like the android os. I can put an sd card in it. I also have a headphone jack on my sony xperia and samsung s10e. I can multitask on my sony xperia no iphone can ever do. I dont see any advantage of the iphone. Its all worse than android.
Don’t forget the password. It’s so hard to change away when everything is in the keychain app.
Shutter lag is actually removable, you can have ur phone analyse photos later on
Its just preference tbh. Tried an iphone before, sold it after a month and got an android again.
You said last year that switching to iphone was hard
Do a comparison between the S23 plus and iPhone 14 pro
He already did, check the past videos
how are you handling passwords? storing them on both apple and google? third-party password manager?
Third party password manager. They’ve got tonnes of benefits over the Apple keychain or Samsung Knox etc
I have used Google Pay to pay for anything, from exclusive eateries, to street food trucks, rural petrol stations and shady online stores... Never did I have any trouble completing a payment!
All those reasons are such a BS
Only Samsung is laggy shutter or bidet android phones. Only time I have taking a pic on pixel 6 pro is night mode.
I switched from iphone 11 to the zflip4. And i cant wait for apples flip. I miss my iphone and apple watch. 😢
Gotta wait a few more years for that!
Shutter Lag: You’re using the 200mp resolution mode so of course it has a delay. Use normal res mode and photos are instant.
It’s not easier than just dropping all your music into anAndroid from any computer. I never liked iTunes.
You should give a Fitbit a go. I feel like the pixel watch wasn’t needed because of this
Interesting to hear! I will take a look :)
Personally, I have Fitbit and Apple Watch ultra but the Apple Watch data is very accurate comparing to Fitbit
Just press the bottom button, and you will exit workout easely.
In my experience nfc pay is far far faaar better in android than apple. Most of the times the nfc feature dont work in apple
Shutter lag has almost all been fixed with the latest update, it’s much better!
I also was confused on the shutter lag. Unless I take a night sight photo it is an instant pic....every time
@@locks66 yeah night time actually uses a timer to get better exposure so that makes sense. Samsung has shutter lag, not pixels.
if you had all your devices samsung the ecosystem is pretty great to but you can't expect your apple divice3s to work with adroid and that is an apple problem
Also consider this depending on the android brands there’s few cases for them. Look at the zenfone 9 or Motorola very few companies make dust proof or any type of cases
I always struggled to get a Vena vCommute case for my Galaxy S Active phones smh
I want to switch to android so bad but literally FaceTime and iMessage are holding me back. FaceTime especially just has no alt or workaround
Who’s going to tell him that android has a built in ad blocking service, who’s going to tell him that FREE APPS NEEF ADS YOU IDIOT FOR MONEY TO CONTINUE MAKING THE GAME
wym, every store that i have visited support google pay
I was against Apple until the company I work for forced me to use the MacBook, and I fell in love with it and could not imagine myself using any other laptop. I have an Android but it's a Samsung and Samsung have their on mini ecosystem. But if Samsung did not exist I would definitely move to iPhone
As a Android user I too found it difficult to change to Apple phone, and honestly I despise the thing. But it has taught me one thing, it ain’t smart at all, and I will not fear AI like they want me to.
Wechat in China can do anything does not matter which phone you are using. Other countries why would it just so complicated
I went the other way 2 years ago feeling board with android and just wanted to try something different but the Apple Watch ultra is the main reason I haven’t went back and a few other things I’ve learned to like. I do miss a universal back gesture ,google assistant.
The only reason that i am agree with you is about Google/Samsung pay.
The shutterlag only exist in 50mp or 200mp mode
The easy part with phones is to be comfortable with where you are. And with ecosystem it's not every android with an ecosystem it's comes with preference
Been waiting for beeper for almost a year. They seem very far behind
That's crazy how slow they've been. Not sure if there are any alternatives which do the same thing?
@@PeteMatheson I use blue bubbles in the US, but really looking forward to beeper when it's available.
