- Sorting by color is very difficult and would require cameras or sensors to understand the different colored bricks and tell a mechanism how to sort the. This does not sort by color.
Apologies but this product is not currently for sale and I am not taking orders at this time. I appreciate all the interest though.
This project was built for Nate at EpikBricks to help him speed up his sorting process.
Check out EpikBricks channels and content. Nate does an amazing job and I am a huge fan of his.

The Lego sorter was built out of Baltic birch plywood, designed in Fusion360 and milled on an AvidCNC.
Free plans are available on my web site if you would like to build one yourself. Happy to answer any questions: www.petesquare...
Awesome build, love the fit and finish. If anyone was wondering and couldn't be bothered to check out the great plans and convert for themselves, approx metric hole sizes 9mm, 17mm, 24mm, 29mm, 46mm.
Shut up and take my money. Honestly, please consider making more and selling them. One of the best concepts I've seen, thank you
Thank you! Unfortunately with labor and materials they would end up costing over $800. I appreciate your interest though 👍
@@petesquared23 how about general instructions
@@geoffstone9555 there are free plans on my site: www.petesquared23.com
BTW, @wilker_dos @hillcountrywoodshed just started manufacturing. We should have online ordering up soon. Thanks for your interest! 😀👍
This is the best, most DIY Lego sorter I've seen! Thanks so much for designing, building and making a video of this! And quadruple thank you for sharing your plans! We will be building one of these!
Thanks for the kind words Nikki! 👍
Brick Sorters are for sale on my site: www.petesquared23.com They are $699, labor, materials and CNC time are expensive. Free plans are also on my site if you would like to build one yourself. Thanks for your interest 😀👍
That is just genius! From all I've read and seen it's not so preferred and common to sort by color. Usually, people go by size or function. Your creation can save tons of time and hustle for the whole family! You need to be advertised/affiliated more in all those blogs for organizing where moms with kids who own tons of lego will be able to purchase that from you! Consider it, let it out for sale. If you improve it again, let it out for sale too! Admirations! Keep it up!

@@petesquared23 I couldn’t find the plans. Still available?
@@kellnic they are but I’m currently updating my website. Hopefully they will be back up soon. Apologies for the delay 👍
I am sorting Lego as I am watching this. I was thinking of an add on for your system. The small parts are a pain to sort. If you could make a smaller tray to transfer the small pieces in to with a flat botton. This tray would have a slit on opposite sides. One side would only let tiles out. The other side would let plates out. You could take it a step further, and add a V grove to catch rods and technic pins. If you put holes at the end of the V groves, you could tip the tray an collect the parts. This was a very inspiring video. I hope you play with my idea.
Thank you for the great idea! Very interesting idea. I have seen some other sorters on UA-cam that use slots and gaps but I think your idea is better 👍😀
I like this idea too, I’ll build it using Lego! 😂
This is amazing. Picking Lego out by colour is easier. You don’t spend as much time looking for a colour as you do for shape or size. So this design is very handy as it is. I would order one if it’s sold.
We actually just started production! Online ordering should be up soon. Stay tuned! April Wilkersons company is doing all the manufacturing. Pretty excited! There are some recent UA-cam shorts posts with more details 😀👍
@@petesquared23 Is there plans to perhaps find someone in europe to make some from the european market? I imagine shipping for that from america would be astronomical!
Dude, solid build!!
Another UA-cam maker is working on a Lego sorter and tagged your video. I’m glad I checked it out good video quality the build looks great. I’ll be looking for more, new sub!
Much appreciated! Bob's Lego sorter is very cool. Very honored he game me a mention :) Thanks for the Sub!
This is fantastic, just spent several days sat with my daughter sorting Lego by hand
Great Video. Awesome build. It's been fun watching you go through the original concept when you started and to see the final result of the V2.0. Looking forward to what ideas come out of your shop.
Thank you for the kind words and support! Very much appreciated 😀
Great project and video Pete! You are an inspiration!!
Thank you Chris! I appreciate your support! 👍
great idea. hope the free plans are posted on your site soon.
I want one😊
Great idea. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you Mike for the kindness 😀👍
Such a great idea! Amazing video!
Awesome work Pete!!
Thanks Sieng! Appreciate your support 👍
Great job Pete! I like this one
Thanks Luke! Much appreciated 😀
Love it! Great Work!
Thank you for your support Johannes! 👍
I neeeeed someone to build this for me please😂. This is such a great bit of kit and I love the idea for tray at bottom to catch all the dirt.
We have bins and bins of legos, unsorted. My kids don't build much from scratch because they spend most of their time looking for blocks. Instead, they ask for Legos for birthdays or Xmas, and we add more blocks to the bins. This changes Lego building in more ways than one.
We are in the same situation 😀 thanks for your comment! 👍
Awesome work 😉 !! On the first two filters there seems to be a lot of plane area where smaller pieces might just stay and not drop into a hole to be sorted in one of the lower trays. Doesn‘t seem to be a big deal, but I just wondered if the design of the first trays could be modified to a more dense filter with big holes.
That’s a good idea. Maybe for version 3.0 😀
Yes, and also with it smaller holes in the first layer, along with the bigger ones, so more chances for the pieces to fall through
Such a cool project.
I believe you brotha
Okay so after the pain of trying to sort the kids Legos today I'm convinced I need this. I'm going to build it but don't have a CNC. I noticed your plans say 1:4 scale in the pdf. So I guess I'll print it at full scale and lay the paper down to see where I need to drill the holes
Just put out a new UA-cam short video. Looking into manufacturing these for sale. More info on how to order coming soon if your interest 😀👍
@@petesquared23 even though I have the skills, buying one would certainly save me some time!!
That is cool
Thank you!
When will the plans for the “Brick Sorter Large” be availeble?
great work
Awesome build. I definitely need to make one. Thank you for posting the plans!! Were you able to build it out of a single 4’x8’ sheet of 1/4” plywood?
I like to make stuff brought me here!
Thanks for stopping by. There are a lot more projects on my Instagram if your interested. instagram.com/petesquared23/
Great build! and I like the dirt sieve idea, I was wondering why you had a tray with holes smaller than the 1x1 bricks. Also, on your corner joints, how'd you get the "fingers" rounded like that? did you have to do some 3D contouring on the CNC or did you just sand them half round by hand?
Thank you! Yes on doing the CNC contouring. It took extra time but was fun to figure out 😀
Hope it comes to Europe soon
Very cool Cheers mate
TAKE MY MONEY PLEASE!!!!!!!. My boys have so many Legos. I've had boxes and boxes of them as a child and remember spending literal hours sorting them by hand. Please let us know if you ever are taking orders.
Thanks Timothy, unfortunately the cost of materials, labor and shipping would push this into the $800 range. There is a product called Box4Blox that you might find interesting. Thanks for your interest 😀👍
@@petesquared23 Well it's still an amazing build. If there ever was a way to make it cheaper and market it. This would be a great product. Even scaled down would be awesome. Thank you for the recommendation. if you haven't already, patent this bad boy.
Great job! Are the plans free or $699 ?
Thank you! Plans are free on my site. 👍
The wooden vacuum switcher is awesome too, can you use it to suck up lots of Lego pieces? 😉
Great build and video. I’m going to make sure not to show my kid this. Cause if I did I know he would want me to make it right away! Haha
Thanks Dave! It’s fun to make if your ever interested in building one for your kid 😀
You do nice work. I think a CBC machine would be fun….
Thanks Lou! They are a bit frustrating at first but a lot of fun when you get the hang of it 😀👍
Hey! This is very cool. Sadly you dont ship to Europe…. I really Need this 😁
Where do I get one?!?!! ❤
So how did you determine the hole size? Trial and error? Math?
We did some research on the most common bricks then measured them diagonally from two furthest corners. Then did a lot of trial and error ⭐️😂
you should sell it! greate idea!
How does this have only 356 Likes...?????
Do you ever make them and sell them? It's perfect!!!!!

Organize Lego room, table and/or area for *ease of use* when building rather than for storage or display?
I just tried to buy one on your site but it says it is sold out. Will you have anymore for sale?
Apologies Josiah, just updated our inventory. You should be able to purchase now. Thanks for your support! 😀👍

How much?! My kids have SO many Legos and think they would love putting them away like this!
Thanks for your interest John. Unfortunately I’m not currently making projects for sale. Just making things for fun 👍

somebody has the plans?
We have free plans on our site for the mini sorters. 👍 www.petesquared23.com/shop/p/bricksorter-mini-digital-plans
are you selling it as well?
Yes, currently for sale on my site: www.petesquared23.com 👍
Great video problem for me is I don't have a CNC machine, otherwise, it's not that hard.
You could use regulate power tools, would just take longer 😉👍
Split the plates up in 4 pieces, then drill them on top of each other.
I dont think people think YOU'RE putting legos in the wrong spots, but I'm like "I want this for my kid" and then my next thought is, what about when HE puts the legos in the wrong tray, or are the legos not meant to be used out of the trays?
Apologies, I’m having trouble understanding your question.
What's the risk of damaging pieces using this kind of system?
For example scratches or dints
Do you sell these?

Spoiler alert. If you watched 2/3 of the video and honestly thinks that this contraption sorts by colour then you might not be the brightest person around.
The title of this video specifically states that it "sorts by size".
Good idea but expensive
