- In the previous episode, stripped spark plug threads stopped us from attempting to start this car. In this one, we address that issue and go for its first start after 10 years of hibernation. We also have special guests making an appearance. Be sure to watch until the end and see if this big V12 lump will still work properly.

Since I'm getting 5 million emails and comments about it, there is nothing electrical sparking near the right headlight. Just a small piece of plastic dangling and reflecting light, I confirmed it today. :) thanks for your concern!
My father and his best friend are using kerosene once and a while when they change the oil and filters in their cars. They both have a 1.6 TDCi Ford Focus. Is that engine flush method as the one you described in the video or is it safer ?
I was going to tell you😂😂😂 is around at 25:30 right?? I'm happy it's nothing serious!!!
Thanks for the update !
Keep up the good work! Love the videos, what was is that whistling noice?
Ahh god. I came here to comment about.
This is the only channel that a 43 minutes video makes me happy because is very long and sad because is very short.
I will see it tonight at the perfect relaxing time.
That was my plan too but as sreta said "jebi ga" and I set in bathroom for 43 minutes
Same for me and I don’t even like BMWs but am more of a Mercedes person :-). Sorry
Better than Netflix. Always great content and I am very entertained while I learn.

Agree
@15:00 Someone give this man at least three academy awards: Best Makeup, Best Special Effects and Best Adapted Screenplay.
😅😅
Fi real...
You forgot Best Supporting Actor.
Me too, wanted to point out the special effects :-)
24:45 "I am now reasonably sober. So, we can proceed." Please put this on a t shirt so I can buy it.
I'll take it in a navy blue, or gray hoodie please 🤣😂
I could watch this guy all day. It's unbelievable how one person can conjure a smile on my face for a full 43 minutes.
The way he talks, the way he makes videos, the way he acts on me is amazing. Finally a channel that is simple pleasant and SOOOO relaxing.
PLEASE CONTINUE AND DO NOT STOP
Thank you, Matěj!
this channel has become like food to me cant live without it, we must protect and support Sreten at all costs.
you've undestand that pretty late :D
I agree
Agree!!
yes, its good to know that world has for the next decades at least one skilled tehnician who can keep these beasts alive
Same here!
Everyone's favourite mechanic, Hans, is back! You know it's going to be a good one 😂
After Hans, Sreten looked like he built that car. He looked so professional :)
Häns the schwänz
I reckon it was Hans who snapped that oil pan bolt...
@@LukeStratton94 well we know Hans is good with connecting rod bolts, so I'd say its likely 😂
Remind me NOT to let ‘Hans’ anywhere near my M140i! 😱🤣
"Yep, that's ATF..."
I love the total lack of surprise in your voice!
I'm so used it. 😄
Sometimes, happiness is simply finding a good UA-cam channel like this one
the detailing on your burnt clothing was just incredible, people just dont realize how much time it costs
I've actually set myself on fire while preparing that clothes. 🤣

It's not that life is boring if you work from home in the IT industry, but the videos on this channel are the most awaited things all week. The longer the episode, the happier I am. Lovely to hear this beauty running. Keep up the good work!
You have strong fans here in Greece Sreten and there are not many mechanics like you in this world. Decent, responsible, hard-working, honest and talented.
Thank you!

That "explosion" was EPYC !!!!!!!! :))))))))
The only automotive YouTiber that is actually amusing when being funny, instead of painful or dumb. :)
The best part of the week is when an M539 video is uploaded!
Thanks for the entertainment Sreten, you make this channel so entertaining and informative which is a rarity these days. Really loving the Hans twins, don’t fire them, they’re doing their best. Also, what happened to the the evil twin? I really miss him. Keep up the the great work restoring these magnificent machines and bringing them back to life because they’re worth it. I salute your hard work and dedication and ability.
Thank you for watching! He's still on a tropical island, should be back soon. :)
Count me in! He made me confident enough to start fixing my own car and became one of my fav to watch on youtube. Keep up the good, cant wait for another post. wishing all best!
@@M539Restorations is he back from the tropical island yet ?
This master technician deserves an award for his services rendered to humanity, the world needs to preserve and nurture the e31 with it's phenomenal v12 engine. Brought back to life and purring like a kitten, this man is a genius and I can't wait for the next instalment. I was glued from start to end, great video, great witty fun filled narration and explanations.
Even by Sreten's standards this is an absolute masterclass. Spark plug threads, oil pan gasket issues both absolutely NAILED 👍👍
After randomly discovering your channel a while back, you've become one of my favorite channels and I look forward to your uploads. Thanks for your wonderful work.
That's awesome! Thank you!
Same. No clue how it happened. I've never had an ounce of interest in BMWs. Binged all the vids and now not so patiently waiting for the new stuff. Wizardry.
Same here, the algorithm saw fit to show me a video and I've been binging all the videos ever since! Now want to buy all of the BMW's and fix them up (something I swore I would never do after experiencing an absolute turd of an E93 335i)
So, the night shift is not so bad anymore. The work will have to be forgotten a bit. Thanks Sreten !
how come your comment is older than the video?
@@TheKingArabia patreon, my friend, patreon.
The zip ties to hold the gasket in place is genius, always had a hard time with that!
What a “ sexy little HELLO from the oil filter housing”.... brilliant !!!!!!
"Will it start?".... Of course it will, Sreten just looked at it funny 😂
25:30 @M539 have a look at the wires on the top left corner above the right headlight
I thought it was a reflection of a light in the garage, but not sure after paying it more attention. Looks kind of 'sparky'
Yes, near the air filter housing. Something is "sparking". Happens again around de 38:00 mark before the coin test.
I was looking this coment 🤣
Just a thin piece of plastic dangling and reflecting light. All good :)
@Michal PL how did you notice that SHERLOCK HOLMES 😂😂😂
"Coming Up" never gets old!! KEEP IT ON!!!
The sound of that beast starting up is just awesome!!!!!
I didn't know spark plug threads could be fixed, good tip to know. And I'm glad I wasn't the one to try it first so I can learn from your experience!
“BOOP”
“Das ist vicked!”
I love this channel so much
Had a bit of a bad day, new video from M539 makes it instantly better
He is the best BMW Mechanic/Technician and Expert on UA-cam!
Coming up...what a great way to start the Monday ❤️
The only problem with watching these videos as soon as they drop is that now I have to wait until there's more. I guess I could go re-watch Project Dubai for the third time while I wait.
You are a brilliant non-mechanic who is actually as good if not better than a mechanic (and a funny man also). Keep entertaining us!
You could start an academy when a view is able to spend a day with you, fixing and learning! Thank you for another great upload
I have to say, this was THE quickest 43 minutes of video viewing I've ever experienced!
Zero dislikes! Rare to see any channels like this. Damn near impossible
Correction, There are now 35 bots programmed do downvote any video mentioning the magnificent M70 engine.
"Don't breathe" .. "Dropped it" had me in tears
15:28 - Sreten - you got me an instant heart attack - I am watching your video with headphones....
Thanks a lot for your excellent work and fun you give us at the same time :) The best and most enjoyable to watch youtuber ever
Same, fully crapped myself. Then lol'd hard.
Ive been bending wrenches for 45 years. Im impressed by your loyalty to these cars, and your patience. Have fun and ill keep watching your videos.
Dude I appreciate your sense of humor so much. Thanks for great content!
Cheers!
@@M539Restorations really I wasn't aware that Germans can be so much fun. :) Gruss aus Lutherstadt Wittenberg Sreten.
The sketches are hilarious. The time just flies by while watching this channel. It's like yoga for the brain.
The “Scheiss Hans” is already legendary.
By the way, what an amount of work you did on this car. And those yellow poplights 💛
I was about to run some chores and pay bills, but no, you had to post a new video. Your video comes first.
54k in 3 hours. Well done sir.
Explosion was hilarious. Wasn't expecting it.. 🤣🤣
Bit of Car Resto & Brilliant Comedy all in one..
As someone said ,these are the only videos of 40 + minutes i enjoy watching!! I love the gags so much😂
I have to confess, I laughed when he broke the extractor... because that happened to me more than once!!
Can't you weld to it to extract it?
Ya those extractors are total crap, i was going to fall out of bed if that thing had of worked. Haven't had one work yet.
Hahaha 15:40 was so funny! Great humor with the Hans character and yet also so informative, great work Sreten! It's the reason we all keep watching.
So many mechanics are terrified of BMWs. It is extraordinary how you are able to navigate their complexity and make it all seem doable!
Your videos has somewhat restored my faith in BMW cars especially the 850i. I now want one so much now, but like most people, it's all about money. Hope to see another fabulous 850i in your shop soon.
50 minutes is not enough! it could be 5 hours an it wouldn't be enough! you are the BEST Sreten! and this is the best channel! Saludos desde Mexico!
Cant wait when you drive 300 Km/u on the Autobahn with this beast!
Didn't know about the V-12 being so bulletproof! Similarly, I put over 200,000 miles (!) on my 1985 M635CSi with only normal maintenance...head never came off and the clutch was original! Cheers, and greetings from Texas!
The only channel i get inspired by, and watch the whole videos, That BANG at startup was Epic, My high-end speakers rumbled the whole house
Thanks for the update! What's the thing that sparks around 37:22 over the right hand (Left in the picture) head light?
Dude I was waiting for an entire week for this update
Best BMW restoration channel on all UA-cam, hope you get 1 million subs this year
Its so nice to see a true mechanic at work. Doing it the right way, no shortcuts or adding stupid aftermarket Ebay stuff to the car.
At episode one, can't take to first look at the car before oem wheels are mounted. See, that's commitment.
I have never clicked this fast!
yea 15 minutes here, I'm slipping :(
Hurray ! Hurray ! You are the second genius to use vacuum instead of blowing shavings down into the walls - perhaps there is hope for my little German friend - gooden habin I think.
You don't swear enough in your native tongue and it is comedy gold. Sincerely, everyone from the motherland
Hans, I hope one day you get a tv skerries, eveytime I watch you have me on stitches laughing, your my favourite mechanic on UA-cam, keep up the great work my friend.
It seems the previous mechanic used an impact drill for everything. Spark plugs and oil pan nuts don't strip themselves. I hope he watches this channel. He might actually learn something. Keep up the great work.
Am I only one saying "cooming up" at my self when I see a new video thumbnail from M539 ?
You’re not alone
No you're not alone. Even my wife says it & she doesn't even watch the show with me!
2 of the sweetest words you can hear on YT these days. Because you know it's going to be another top video.
I like your theory about new parts inspiring old parts to work.
This is therapy
Against all odds, in a little space, without the support of a "big" channel with tools and whatever else, and this channel is by far the BEST about how you must repair a car.Humor in it's best, honest and hard working (he reassembled everything 3 times for the cooling system on the other 850!), one thing is coming on my mind for all other channels on youtube..FIRED! Greetings from GREECE!
'I'm reasonably sober now' the very words I live by!
I am glad to see that I am not the only fussy person, when it comes to how a job should done. There are way too many sloppy people out there.
The best 43min!! Congratulations for this channel!!
The explosion was timed perfectly. I lol'd.
I almost crapped myself. And then lol'd!
Solid engine design + skilled mechanic = resurrection!
Thanks for the inspiration and keep on trucking!
Best BMW repair/maintenance channel that I have ever visited. Good job
The best UA-cam channel i have watched. You are fantastic!! Hero to make alive again these v12 monsters!
the amount of passion, work and sweat put into this video is incredible
So glad I discovered this channel. Started with one video then ended up binge watching all the others. Great channel 👍😎
As a person that owns 2 BMWs and the tons of BMW channels, this is hands down my favorite. The way you take care of these cars is a breath of fresh air.
The roar on this engine is amazing giving the age.
A pro tip on bolt extraction is using drill bits that are the "wrong way" i.e. instead of clock wise drill bits use counter clock wise drillbits. They will use the force needed to drill to try to extract the bolt. If your lucky the bolt will just unscrew itself while drilling. If not you can still use regular tools.
Everytime a new video appears i am like, yeah "coooooming up" time. I do watch another car repair videos as well, but i like your the most, your voice is so soothing, no screaming, no annoying music, no sudden changes in loudness where you have to adjust the volume all the time. Quick but very effective explanations, no unnecessary talks around one problem. Cool on point video editing. Thank you very much for your effort and time, i know it is alot of work to concentrate on the recording at the same time as the repairing. The funny parts are awesome, like the part at 15:27. First the ingnition "Gong sound", like "all is good... carry on" and then the explosion :D. Did shock me for a second, but then it turned into a smile on my face. nice to having you. Keep it up please.
Easily in my top 5 favorite channels
This is therapy for home car mechanics. I now realise I am not alone in talking to inanimate objects.
Love watching this guy! What a incredible talent and patience he has with these absolutely beautiful cars. Looking forward to the next video! 🙏
Words can´t describe how much i love to see this channel grow and get bigger and better. It´s like watching your child grow up.
love the Intro!
Lets be honest...this guy does the magic in his tiny little garage
I was waiting all the week for another episode, its addictive 😂
You're just the best, there's nothing else to be said.
Also, those skits with Eng. Hans and his colleague Knock are just hilarious. You should improvise these more often, BUT never change anything on the maintenance schedule, it's perfect.
Hope you'll post a video on project Raleigh really soon, you should drive it after all that hard work you did on it.
'till the next one!
Another BMW Saved By the Master Technician Great Job
10:14 sums up my expression when a new M539 Restorations video is uploaded. Good stuff! 😎
One of the few channels for which I'm willing to look at the full ads as I know it helps the creator, and it's worth it.
and i think that clicking on them is additional help
Wish there was an option to automatically like videos from certain channels.
Best mechanic channel on UA-cam. (And there are more than a few good ones)
Bravo!! 👏
When I broke off an easy-out in the cam sprocket bolt in my 944 I used a diamond tip hole saw, a right angle drill, and lots of patience to drill it out.
I lost it when he broke the bolt extractor trying to extract the bolt in the oil pan 😂😂😂😂
Me too 😂
at least he is honest in this.... especially when not everything is perfect and not everything goes as he wish
37:13 to the left of the left air intake (our/camera perspective), are those electrical arcs? edit: 40:45 they also seem to happen with the engine off. check them out asap.
Good eye! It's the headlight connector, will take a look.
Haha. I came here to tell him the same thing. Good eye!!!
@@M539Restorations it's still arcing even with the engine off at 41:03
25:30 as well
FYI, it's nothing electrical, just a small thin piece of plastic dangling and reflecting light :)
U. R. THE MAN ! I felt your pain when your extractor broke 9ff !
Congratulations !
J'have spend the whole weekend watching "Project Chicago" ! J have an 20 years old car that j recently bought that need some fixing. These videos help a lot in getting ready to do things properly ! Awsome channel ! Thanks !
